This game is criminally underrated. If you haven’t, please do yourself a favor and get immersed in the world of PoE. Especially with Avowed coming out soon (it’s set on the same game world).

Just realized that this games story is based on the Emerald tablets. Written by Thoth ... Interesting view on the past.. Without the soul reaping. But he does speak of souls going threw many life experiences and grasping hold of that knowledge.

Poe2: Deadfire might be one of my favourite games of all time, what a beautiful and rich game

Not a big fan of the PoE 2 world map. As a guy that needs to clear all fog of war or i can't sleep at night, this has been a boring nightmare, island hopping and with bland ship fighting. Also don't dig the pirate vibe. As this retrospective proves, the main story and faction content are pretty simple and somewhat predictable. Loved PoE 1 though. Felt more oppressive and involved.

I REAAAAAALLY appreciate this Mortismal! My brain is a sieve when it comes to Lore, so checking back in on this as a refresher whilst playing the game is a god send. It makes the playthrough much more enjoyable, so thanks, dude!

You can fight avatar of Rymrgand to escape or offer to give him Ydwin - the vampire companion you get from VTC teleport quests.

Love this game until the very end; it stopped so abruptly and anti thematic without a true final fight. Still would replay it if you are making some good builds lol😂

My favorite type of playthrough has to be side with the Huana then kill off all the other leadership just as a reward. They are actually shockingly easy to kill.

As much as I enjoyed this game, I still believe they chose the wrong setting. It was literally the last place on the Eora map I saw a sequel taking place.

Though I am late, good video. 1: why bother with the Naval Combat at all when you can just board without the naval part (did I miss something?) And 2: what would a Rymrgand Godlike look like? Just a Death variant?

(spoiler) The Beast of Winter DLC is better than the main game here IMO. The ability to tell Rhymgard to piss off is priceless.

Just got started on this game. Loving it so far. This world might be my favorite fictional universe ever created. It’s got so much potential. This IP is the going to do for Obsidian what the Elder Scrolls has done for Bethesda. It’s almost unfuckupable 😂

I still think this story telling is better than any crpg even bg3 or pathfinder wrath of the righteous

The gameplay is good , the characters are nice but the story is not really interesting. There's no some kind of urgency inside the story that makes you care about it.

Great video! Not sure if this was added after this video, but you don't even have to fight the Guardian at the end... If you free the sea dragon under the Water Shaper's Guild, either entirely or keeping part of its soul, it will actually take out the Guardian. What a gigachad!

Bought this on my pc but its so old and laggy I couldn’t be bothered to play it, been wanting to know the story for awhile and waited for the supercut to watch it all at once. Thanks for making videos like these and keep it up! You deserve more views for the effort on these amazing lore videos

The game was good

I have to say that the story overall in PoE is pretty grim. I mean the whole setting is that back in the day's wars were happening all over the place cause of religion. A group of people then wanted to find a solution and found out that there were no gods but that a construction? was enabling everyone to keep their souls intact, reincarnate and be born with a soul. My understanding is also that the wheel is gathering the "energy" together to create new souls. Then as a solutions to the wars that group of people created gods and the gods took control of the wheel. Then the gods who were created by a large group of souls started to use souls as a power source which in turn lead to one of them who was slighted by the fact that she wasn't the head honcho led her to basically try and absorb all the souls of a region/country so she could grow more powerful. After this another god who was sick of acting like a god and how the world was working decided to let everyone know the truth and at the same time smash the wheel that existed from before the gods and was pretty much was kept the world working. Cause why not let everyone know the truth and then doom them all to oblivion just because....

I've been busy playing the game and listening to the Darksiders novel on Audible, and as such I have to catch up on your channel. Rank the Deadfire characters by story and then combat effectiveness? Same for the original game.

And the reason the last fight was so lame was because I saved the sea dragon and he came and helped by killing the guardian

I have tried three times to get into this game. My latest attempt took me through the first half hour of this video. I completed the first pillars twice, and I've played all of the games that the pillars series was based off of like baldurs gate, and maybe that is what is getting in my way?
