Allah didn't want to destroy them, that is why he sent Lut - to warn them to change their ways. They received a warning and still did not believe and carried on their corrupt ways. Only THEN Allah destroyed the nation.

Allah made them normal, but Allah made humans with free will. Humans have the ability to disobey Allah and that’s what the people of Sodom did. So he ordered Lut to call them back and to change their ways. They rejected him and Allahs message, carried on pleasing Satan with their corrupt actions and then Allah destroyed them as they was causing corruption on earth and did not listen to Lut. I hope it’s clearer!

Everyone feels the way they feel. It’s not haram to feel gay. However, it’s haram to ACT upon those feelings. We are humans, we feel how we feel. But we are not allowed to act upon feelings that go against the commandments and teachings of Allah. Do you understand now?
