Yes thank you for saying this. As a Black person, age 50, who grew up in that time of The Wiz and appreciates the importance of it to our culture, it literally was the reason why I bought the box. And The Dude. That’s it. Kinda bummed me out as a fan of Mike and his shop, to hear him crap all over it. Differing opinions is one thing ( I like Springsteen, he doesn’t), but it kinda went beyond that. As an aside, it’s a GREAT box, finally finished listening to all 8 albums yesterday. All were amazing pressings with great sound. Not a miss at all. If people didn’t want to buy them, oh well. More for me. And Mike, Back on the Block and Live At Montreux were the only two cut from hi-res digital, rest were AAA.

@@Groover71 I was 12 when The Wiz was released, I didn't know anyone that was into it at the time but even to a suburban white 12 year old it was glaringly obvious how important the movie was to the black community. I'd be surprised if it *wasn't* in this box.

I love Quincy, Michael & Diana Ross. But I don't think The Wiz was the high point in any of their careers. I'm guessing many people feel the same way because copies of the LP are cluttering up my used bin. I would of had nicer things to say if not for that fact that it is a very cheap album that is very easy to get that probably accounts for $60-80 of the price of this set. I wasn't even born when this movie came out and I don't judge records on anything other then their musical quality in my opinion. Every record in existence is at least someones favorite record. But on this channel I give lot's of commentary on my musical taste.

I also quit VMP. All the GZ pressed stuff was hot or miss. The box sets and the classics were great, then they stopped having QRP press the box sets.

Tip-on is an old style record sleeve where the cover art is not printed directly on the cardboard. Instead it is printed on any outer paper layer that is adhered to the record sleeve. You can identify it by the paper folded over add the corners.

It's the style of jackets made up to the late 60's, which are heavy cardboard stock. They're constructed by attaching paper layer with the ink printing, rather than directly printed on the cardboard. Google "stoughton old-style tip on" and you'll find examples
