Can we have a biographics on Yitzhak Rabin? (israeli prime minister, murdered) the jewish Heritage in me is kicking. If not possible than i would just like to say that i love your content so much. I listen to your videos so often. I have learnt a lot. Thanks for amazing content. I hope you see this biographics crew member hahah
Even though I am not an American and was born many years after Bobby Kennedy's assassination, I cannot help but mourn for the life of this man. I was always fascinated by the Kennedy legacy and was inspired by the words and actions of Bobby in particular. My father, who grew up during the time of "Camelot" always said that "John F. Kennedy was a great president, but Bobby was the better human being." Bobby, of course, had his flaws, as any human being does, but I think he represented the best of us and always gave hope for what was possible. What I think is the most admirable part of RFK was although he was raised in privilege, he wasn't blinded by his advantages in life and became one of the true champions of the poor, the disinherited and disenfranchised. Perhaps it was "the runt" status he had in his family that made him so passionate to fight for the underdog. To see footage of him visiting an inner city neighbourhood and asking a boy if he'd had lunch yet and seeing the look of anguish on Bobby's face as he touched the boy's cheek when the boy answered, "No" just tears at my gut every time. And to hear his call for unity during his Indianapolis speech on the night of MLK's death was so poignant and unforgettable. He told the crowd that he understood their mistrust of white people but to not succumb to anger and that he too, had one of his "family members" killed by a white man. Now, he reasoned, they must all remember what MLK stood for and continue to work towards peace and for a better country. That night, he helped to quell a potential riot. THAT was the stuff of a true leader. They don't make em' like that anymore. For those interested, there is a documentary made a few years back called, "Ethel" by Rory Kennedy, the daughter of Bobby and Ethel Kennedy . Through interviews with Ethel Kennedy and her children, it's a very interesting, sometimes humorous and candid look at both Bobby, Ethel and the life they shared together. I admire Jackie Kennedy, but I think Ethel is often overlooked. Ethel is a truly amazing woman in her own right: intelligent, humble, spunky and so SO resilient. To not only witness her husband's death, give birth to their daughter months later and be left to raise 11 children on her own and to come out of it all without harbouring bitterness or resentment...she is just as exceptional as her husband was IMO. You can view this documentary on RU-vid.
This was one of the best conspiracy presentations about the killing of former Senator Robert Kennedy and his assassin Sirhan-Sirhan and leaving the door open to think he did not kill alone. Everyone's talking about Simon, but his research team for all entities he does presentations for is fantastic. Simon's is a good presenter, no doubt, but his research team is the real stars. I'm going to acknowledge them, the researchers in my comment, both thumbs-up.
@Shahin Parsay Parsay, our minds are made up about who deserves the most recognition. You say Simon, I say the research team. Either way, neither one of us is wrong. You choose my comment to respond, thank you.
@Shahin Parsay Parsay, Simon gives presentations for at least 3 RU-vid sites. I'm not sure if he has time to do the research! Just prep and present. If he has time to do the research and present, then Simon really is the one. I don't doubt you, but I don't see it.
I am a big fan of Simon. Based upon that, I waisted 6 hours of research to independently check that Sirhan Sirhan might be innocent. Was disappointed, the evidence against him is rock solid.
By the way, this "dual bio of two closely related people" is a brilliant idea, so if you want to do more like this, might I suggest Abraham Lincoln and JW Booth, his assassin?
Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, JFK, ML King, and Robert Kennedy, amazing that everyone who espoused peace and unity in this country was shot in public. Coincidence, draw your own conclusions.
I just commented this. Had Robert Kennedy lived, we would probably have more advances in human rights... He actually cared about regular people. Had he lived, America wouldn't have undergone that embarrassing debacle known as Water Gate as RFK would not have done things like Nixon did. Sirhan Sirhan was a crazed fanatic who snuffed a great light out of this world...
I remember this like yesterday. Your program brought all those feelings back, and when I heard the audio, I cried as hard as I did in 1968. It was a hard one to listen to, but it was very good.
Good choice to move to 30 minutes instead of 20. Simon can breath and do a great job. Both summaries where outstanding. Arnaldo found a winning formula with two parallel stories. It was with the right amount of details and without any kind of bias. Please do more like this.
I remember that night. Living in D.C. I had fallen asleep on the couch watching T.V. When I woke about 3am the station was still on and broadcasting this news. In those days the chanels would sign off late at night. Very sad night.
Kennedy - "Is everybody OK?” Romero - 'Yes, everybody's OK'. Kennedy - “Everything's going to be OK.” Those were his last words... ...gods damn it that's hard to hear. i'm not the biggest fan of the Kennedy's but if even Half of his platform's political goals were achieved with less than the same amount of hinky conspiratorial crap his older brothers administration had got into... I think he would have created the 'Second' Camelot, or a Rather highly respected presidential tenure.
@@RickReasonnz Rick, he immediately went after the mob. We all knew the mob got him elected. We were happy he won. We were joyous. Bobby was AG he immediately went after the mob. Yes! I find the story of Anne Bonney extremely interesting. Ching Shih was also super awesome, uniting a bunch of pirate clans into one pirate confederation!
Hi Simon! I wanted to say how much I love your channels, Biographics is my personal favorite! I love learning about history and Robert Kennedy is actually a figure I knew very little about, this video was incredible! Such a tragic story.
Well if they are going by the conspiracy theories. They are both killed by the Republican party. It is well known that the FBI, CIA and US intel agency are conservatives by nature.
@@sleepyearth "Smash the CIA into a million pieces." If JFK didn''t put it in those words after the Bay of Pigs, it certainly didn't help his rep as a Cold Warrior.
My husband was there at the Ambassador Motel that night working for Kennedy's campaign. Like lots of people, Bobby's assassination irreparably broke my husband's heart. To this day he can't talk about the assassination without being very drunk and sobbing. Not just ugly crying, it's ugly sobbing. Our friends know not to talk about it.😢
Thank you for presenting all the views on this case, including the "conspiracy" parts, and for doing it in a serious way. This channel just got my respect so much more!
@@generalfred9426 In private he knew it was a lie. On Nov. 22, 1963 he called the Director of Central Intel asked him if his agency did the crime. Later, he told his closest associates that he planned to reopen the investigation if he became President. See "Brothers" by David Talbot, lots of detail about that. The family also sent an envoy to tell Krushchev they knew the Soviets were not involved, it was the US right wing militarists who did it, and better US Soviet relations would have to wait until Bobby won in 1968.
@@markrobinowitz8473 The CIA director told RFK that they weren't behind the assassination. RFK later on said he was convinced that the CIA wasn't behind his brother's assassination. David Talbot is a conspiracy theorist. His claims that RFK thought the Commission was a hack was debunked. Why would RFK, an influential politician and a great attorney general wait *5 years* where all the supposed evidence was getting destroyed and suppressed? What stopped him from launching his own investigation into JFK's death? Oh wait because he believed in the Warren Report.
@@generalfred9426 What RFK said in public was not the same that he said in private. RFK and Jackie sent a trusted friend to tell Krushchev - in person - they knew it was the US right wing militarists that killed JFK. What stopped him from launching his own investigation is he was no longer attorney general. As he said in private, only the powers of the Presidency would allow him to do a real investigation. RFK's close allies support Talbot's documentation and don't have epithets to describe his work. Several of them have called on Congress to reopen the investigations of RFK, JFK, MLK and Malcolm X's assassinations. It doesn't matter what some random anonymous post on youtube thinks about this -- Allen Dulles understood Bobby knew what happened, that matters far more.
More details are always better. I love all of your channels Simon. Thank you and your team for all the hard work and excellent content. It's especially needed in these times of quarantine and social distancing practices.
Pamela Mays There are two sides to every story. It's like my favorite quote about Star Wars he was, to one set, you are cheering the rebels.. but to another side you are wishing victory for a bunch of terrorists.
It would probably get banned by RU-vid like Pocahontas. And it doesn’t subscribe to Bernie Sanders’ ideals (conclusion determined by the successive Bernie ads on this video. Also just my opinion)
Weirdly enough, my grandpa's name was Robert Kennedy. Lived in LA even. When this happened, he had quite a bit of trouble convincing people that his name was actually Robert Kennedy
To think that any of these conspiracies across multiple agencies is even remotely possible is to also believe that no fewer than a hundred or more government employees and those working on their behalf could possibly keep a secret of that magnitude. There's a reason why that many people don't know the formula for Coca-Cola.
If I could afford to support you Simon, I would. I know this might sound "creepy", but I watch all of your content and you help take me to a better place. Ok, that didn't sound right... Simon, your content makes my life just a little bit better. I truly appreciate your work.
Sometimes I just wish Simon would wear that one shirt from VisualPolitik EN on here one time just to mess with people's heads. You gotta know which shirt I mean...
I hear ya, mate. If you can't support Biographics financially, then I have some good news for you. There are other things you can still do to help the channel and you've already done at least 1 of them. 1. Watch the whole video. 2. Comment (this is the one which you have obviously already done!) 3. Click 'Like' on their video. 4. Subscribe (which includes 'hit the bell' nowadays). 5. Share on social media. As I understand it, every single thing on that list helps the channel. Every little bit helps, and it's a great way to repay them for their efforts if you have no other realistic options. Just wanted to add: That's pretty hypocritical of me because I don't do social media (because I think it's creepy af, I'm sure you get that), but if you're on social media then I implore you to use it to sometimes share any Biographics videos you've really enjoyed. (Also, if some actual legit RU-vidr could confirm or deny whether or not any of things help, I'd love to hear a reply from them.)
Coming out of a years long depression, I can relate. Some days are really hard, but there are better days ahead of you. Even with the most morbid of topics or the most awful people, I greatly look forward to these videos as well. It's an escape I can't explain. This channel is probably one only channels where you don't see a lot of name calling and fighting in the comment section either.
I absolutely love the extended three-act episode. Because it allows me to get into depth of the lesser-known RFK and even less known shooter which I didn't even know his name
I really like the longer videos especially broken into parts like this, I was listening while playing games and I thought it was ending then BAM! Even more biographic goodness
I do like the format. I am using these videos to further my knowledge. Knowing very little about Sirhan, I was drawn in to this. Bravo! I have never been a fan of reading books,so have been limited to audio books. I appreciate these very much.
Lol. You idiots clearly know nothing. Martin Luther King Jr was a borderline communist. The democrats today are not as progressive (economically at least) as they were pre-Clinton. You do know the democrats would be considered a "right wing" party in all of Western Europe. Morons aren't good at history or logical thinking.
@@12jswilson what are you talking about? We are as aggressively progressive as we hav always been. In fact, after this election,( BERNIE) I'm going independent or green. We must make changes. It is beyond unfair how people live so differently. The haves look down on the halfnots...so loathsome. Why? Its money. Not strong or loving character its money. Yes it can buy 6,000.00 dollar shirt but you end up with a 6 000.00 shirt. Doesnt change a dam thing.
Except we don't know that. Congress would have still been the same, would they have blocked him? Would he caved to political pressure and backed down a bit? What promises would NOT be fulfilled (every President has them due to time, chance and things one knows as President that you DON'T as candidate). We can speculate, but we can never be sure things would be different.
@@Saitaina Bobby was a pitbull he would have fought blood tooth and nails to get what he wanted and would have pissed a lot of people off in the process. They most likely would have quit and it would have been different.
What we can safely assume is that had RFK not been killed that things would be different today. The real question is would things be different for the better or the worse.
If people believe that only one shooter killed both of them...Then they are either blind or stupid! JFK video alone tells you there was a shooter from the FRONT you shoot from the back and have backsplash it will come out of the front
Multiple shooters is the smart way to do important and difficult assassinations that can't go wrong. It's basically Standard Operating Procedure. Only amateurs and drug cartels leave it to one guy.
The thing that was truly incredible about RFK was his willingness to learn and grow from his mistakes. He grew into such an ambassador for the civil rights movement and people being abused/exploited in agriculture! We could use many more politicians and figures like this nowadays.
Working my way thru your videos and just watched this one. I was watching TV when my mom came in the room. As a little kid in Texas, I was thinking it was just one more program about JFK. Mom knew better and burst into tears, her heart instantly breaking for Ethel and Rose. As much history as I've read since, I learned things from this vid, and that is high praise. Well done.

I got curiosity stream thanks to your recommendations, and my son and I really enjoy it for the short format episodes for kids, and for the comprehensive series on many cool topics.
"His hopes, they never materialized" I don't know what the grammatical phenomenon is, but either Simon breaks down sentences into two parts with the first part ending in a question and then the answer in the second. Or maybe the script writers are the culprits. Either way, once I caught on to this, I can't stop noticing it. "Simon, he likes history" "Simon likes history"
That's what I was thinking too, Tom. I'm sure Joe Jr. wasn't Navy. He was Army Air Corp in Europe, killed when his explosives-laden experimental bomber blew up due to a malfunction in the triggering mechanism.
Similar to this type of video, is it possible we could see two commanders from famous battles? If so, I think John Jellicoe and Reinhard Scheer would be a great duo, and it’ll also be the first time you guys have mentioned there Battle of Jutland on any of your channels
Nobody is "pure". Just 3yrs before he died, as Attorney General, it was Bobby who signed off on allowing the FBI to start wire tapping Martin Luther King Jr. It's literally mentioned in this video. 😒 I don't dislike Bobby Kennedy, but I find it ironic that he was signing off on that bullsh*t while telling black folks to their face how much he supporter their causes.
Great job ! IT rivals a book on the subject I have had for years. Good presenting, with clear understandable language that is to the point and well written with respect for the departed.
Okay, so here's my opinion -- the divided format was pretty darned good. I liked it. It was informative, entertaining, and educational. That's a good mix.
I like the longer, more in depth Biographics videos. They carry more detail and they allow for the exploration of many ideas and facts of a persons life and experiences.
A few thought on historically inaccurate claims made in this video, Act 1: 10:28 Bobby did not order and had no knowledge of attempts on Castro's life. John Newman's latest book analyzes the record in detail, including who had knowledge of what actions he ordered and where and when they lied about it, and how those lies became the "historical record" that is described briefly in the video, above. If you are interested, please read John Newman's book, Into the Storm, one of an excellent developing series of 5 or 6 books on the JFK assassination. A great deal of treacherous activity surrounded the events of Castro's rise to power, not the least of which was the CIA's self-declared role in forming US policy ahead of publicly elected officials. Johnny Roselli was hired through Robert Maheu on the order of Shef Edwards under Richard Bissell during the Eisenhower administration. Robert Maheu cannot be ignored in the story of Bobby Kennedy. 10:52 a whopper. In 1963, King had not spoken out against the Vietnam War. In 1963, JFK had issued plans to get out of the war which contributed to his own death, but, chronologically, made the idea that King would be speaking out against the Vietnam War, which wasn't "the Vietnam War" yet, absurd. King's actions in civil rights had not had anything to do with speaking out against Vietnam until years later. In fact, Hoover's suspicions that King was a communist originated with a deliberate character assassination against King that included a picture of him meeting with communists, a photo that had been widely circulated in the South during the late 50s, and then resurfaced with a resurgence of anti-King propaganda in the run-up to the Selma actions in 1963. This plot was perpetrated by racists outside of the FBI (at least overtly so). Nevertheless, Hoover was a racist, treating blacks within the FBI with disfavor, as a small example. Bobby had no knowledge that Hoover was campaigning to bring down King and to control the growing civil rights movement. The video somewhat accurately described that Bobby was not involved in the character assassination of King. Bobby's openness to wiretapping seems incongruous to his devotion to civil rights, but it should also be noted that his bona fides in law enforcement has a lot to do with what made him the only real anti-war candidate in the 1968 campaign. And it should also be noted (as in the video) that Bobby's own perspective on politics was affected by his brother's murder. 13:17 typical inaccuracy. Bobby's first public statement about the war was May, 1965, not February, 1966. In May, 1965, he had made critical comments about Johnson's policy, and had, even earlier, stated that the Gulf of Tonkin resolution was a vastly different level of involvement than either JFK or Ike had presided over. His loyal friends in the Johnson administration then asked him to go to Vietnam to see how well things were going, and when he returned, he made his February 1966 statement which effectively, publicly separated him from Johnson's war policy. It is not accurate to say, however, that Bobby had supported Johnson's build-up of the war before 1966. Moreover, when referencing "Indochina", as the video did, it is critical to understand, even if the video completely ignores, the Kennedy policy toward Indonesia. Indonesia was considered the key to peace and stability in Indochina every bit as much, or more, than Vietnam during the JFK administration. It is critically important to understand that JFK and RFK policy and actions, including visits to Indonesia (RFK, and planned but unrequited in JFK's case) in support of Sukarno and politicking for Congressional funds for Sukarno, were directly against CIA policy established during the Eisenhower administration. Johnson redirected US policy toward Indonesia back into CIA hands and the result was genocide in 1965. But no problem, the Ford Foundation has acted as a CIA front for healing the wounds (deflecting CIA responsibility) ever since, including the deployment of foundation funded leftist activity that brought Obama's mother there. But I digress. The point is that the Kennedys were moving the country in a different direction than the war planners' consensus, and had a deep, strategic grasp of how to end the Cold War, stabilize peaceful conditions, and leave the world inhabitable for future generations. Act III: Sirhan didn't shoot Kennedy. Lisa Pease's recent book reviews the record in detail. Robert Maheu, mentioned above as the liaison between CIA and the mafia, is a key person of interest. How come this video allowed itself the privilege of conjecture on conspiracy theories when the same video franchise said there wasn't enough time to do so with regards to Oswald? Simple. The purpose of these videos is to squelch dissent. Why would intelligence agencies fear Bobby Kennedy, as stated in the video, especially if he was (inaccurately stated in the video) giving them green light to get Castro and bug King?
Overall, extremely well done. I was a very big fan of the Kennedy brothers, particularly Jack, and I have to say that both Jack and Bobby must be spinning in their graves to see how depraved the Democrat Party has become. I'm embarrassed in that I ever was a Democrat. And if Jack and Bobby were alive today, they would be conservatives, I'm more than a little certain.
