Nice. I saw Sam Hammer take home a solid 2nd place in the Independence Pro in Soup Bowl, Barbados in November ‘99. Two Americans and two Bajans made the final in a very strong field., and fairly decent waves. Blew my 17 year old mind to see such powerful surfing at a powerful Caribbean reef break. Thanks for the memories, Sam, if you see this comment. For all of his friends and family, let it be known that Sam ripped in Barbados in ‘99.
