@@kaworunagisa4009I tried to shout him off the cliff, thinking that would end the fight quickly. .. I had a nice surprise waiting for me when I climbed down and he killed me.
On legendary difficulty at level 95 I shouted at him and at the same time he shouted it was surprising me that our shouts hit at same same time caught in a stalemate cancel either out he was by a cliff so I tried my best to keep him buy the cliff and shouted at him again but for some reason he managed to dodge my shout and shout me back and I was one the to get cliffed 😂 got O.K ed off the mountain ⛰ I came back and got vengeance with karstag summoning and alot of luck.
I don't know why no one ever mentions the fact that children of mixed race couples are the race of their mother. That opens up a lot of possibilities for who the Ebony Warrior can be and explain why he wants to get into Sovngarde. He could be the bastard son of the former high king or Ulfric or any other notable Nord who had a Redguard mistress. He would look like a Redguard but be his father's son, so to speak, and of course have daddy issues driving his progress and desire to meet his father in Sovngarde. That last idea is why I particularly like the idea that he is the son of Torygg, the last High King of Skyrim.
There is no mixed race people since mothers have dominant genes. The most credible theory is that the Ebony Armor is in itself an entity of a warrior that manifests as a challenger. Like a encounter, but of a daedric nature on a legendary tier.
I don't know about Torygg and Ulfric, apparently Torygg was still fairly young when he died, presumably not old enough to have an adult son. Ulfric would probably be old enough but the Ebony Warrior would know where to find him to begin with, It wouldn't make sense for the Ebony Warrior to want to reunite with Ulfric in Sonvengard when he could have done so in life. But I do like the of the Warrior's father being a Nord. Maybe one that died in the War with the Thalmor.
Because this lore is contradicted multiple times in the first place by actual characters and if you read the lore book this is from even he sounds not entirely certain on some things. People don't mention it because its not as big or as true as you think
@@TheRetifox Takes place in Sovngarde you escape and return back to life to a time in Hammerfell where it all started... ur birth you are the Ebony Warrior and you have to level up to level 80 :^)
Dont agree with the subconscious theory. Why would the Ebony Warrior always be a Redguard man no matter the gender & race of the Dragonborn? I think he's basically the answer to where the next Elder Scrolls game is going to be set in. Hammerfell. Bet there'll be an easter egg for the E.Warrior where your character can meets an elderly Nord man or woman that mentions their son that left for Skyrim in his ebony armor.
I believe the Ebony Warrior is the player. Think of him as another character you made, since I think most people don't only make one character in Skyrim. He's basically just another character of yours who reached max level, coming to challenge your current character when they also became strong enough. I think it's a bit similar to the case of Skyrim's Sheogorath. If you played the Oblivion DLC Shivering Isles, you know that in the end of the questline (spoilers) your character becomes Sheogorath. So from a certain point of view, in Skyrim you basically meet "your previous character" from Oblivion, when you're doing Sheogorath's quest. This is how I see the Ebony Warrior too.
Reminds me of Pelinal. His lore is basically what players end up doing. I mean he screams Reman's name, an Emperor in the future and a bunch of other stuff that people shouldn't know about in the setting as if he's from outside of it. Also, an ungodly amounts of hate for the Elves is a plus. This guy is crazy like Sheagorath. Dying but not dying. Dude talked to his friend as a bodyless head.
What if he was just a Redguard who was born and raised in Skyrim by the nords which caused him to believe in sovengarde instead of the far shores. Because well just cause you are a race dosen't neccasarily mean you have to be apart of their culture. :)
So we're Dragonborn, Ysmir etc etc We saved Skyrim from itself and world from Alduin He (could be) Hunding He saved Hammerfell from itself, from the Dominion(Which is why the chads manage by themselves now) and probably also a whole different cosmic catastrophe... And his journey ran parallel to ours only elsewhere. I like that idea
Alduin is the avatar of destruction in the eyes of akatosh. The cycle was broken and akatosh would have just started a cycle he already ended. Since, the player. Aka the last dragon born, is also technically an avatar since he has the blood of a dragon.
I think the max level in the 'original' Skyrim was 84 and a half levelup-bar. I found that out in early 2012 when I had a lot of free time on my hands... Great video though 👍
The Ebony Warrior IS the Dragonborn. He is either a manifestation of consciousness like you said, or he is the next game (or previous) main character. In any way you slice it, the Ebony Warrior is the Dragonborn’s equivalent.
Given his size, I like to think he's a descendant of Lyris Titanborn and Sai Sahara and thus is a mix of Redguard, Nord, and Giant ancestry. I know it's not canonical given that Skyrim came out first, but it's a fun headcanon.
@@dippst I know, but Skyrim as a video game was made first so the team couldn't have had that in mind when making the character. They could make it retroactively canonical if they wanted, but I doubt they are going to care enough to do so.
That still makes sense though, lyris and sai sahan litterally went to cold harbour and made it out in one piece let alone conspired a successful attack on molag bal so i mean why not?
Ok Hear me out What if he’s just some *really* strong dude. That’s it, that’s my theory. He’s just some guy who’s gotten so strong that he can’t die an honorable death unless killed by the Dragonborn “Oh, but he’s a Redguard, he can’t go to Sovngarde!” He’s following Nord tradition, is he not? He may have the body of a Redguard, but he still has the heart of a Nord. At his core, he *is* a Nord, regardless of blood.
Yeah I like the sub conscious theory, because if the ebony warrior had truly done all there is to do, why didn't we hear anything about it in passive dialogue lines.
same reason you'll get bandits mugging you while you're looting the corpse of a dragon you literally just shouted to death, while being thane of all holds, wearing dragonbone armor, with shadowmere 5 feet away. news doesnt spread well without phones or the internet.
That last theory does make a ton of sense Throughout the series, the player character slowly becomes bored and sometimes tired as you level up Something that didn't show up in skyrim was the level up blurbs that would appear once you rested. In the other games, the character usually starts off at level 2 as all excited and wide eyed to the world around them. But once you reached higher and higher levels the blurbs become contentful and lackluster with the thought of just dying from a mistake or that they are already the best and miss having something challenging yet they still try to find one.
Then shouldn't the Ebony Warrior be a female for female DBs? Or at least the same race as the DB? I like the idea that the EW is your future self, since Parthy said they should be able to see time like a dova and they have used the Elder Scrolls, and that Time magic is possible, that eventually, you have to meet yourself to finally call your time on the mortal plane done. But, if that is the case, then the EB should look like your character when unmasked.
@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 True, but if it is a manifestation of our characters, then why would we identify as a race and a gender completely different from ourselves? This theory says EB's manifestation is a part of our subconscious, but that means we are completely detached from our own identity in every possible way. So, I like it, but I don't agree with it. But, I did enjoy the video and thanks for the reply!
I'd be very disappointed if that was the case, since my female DBs always marry him. Well, unless they're lesbian... but for some reason I usually play heterosexual characters. Not sure why. Statistical probability, probably.
I have a theory myself I think that the gods in the elder scrolls lore are sending Demi gods like the ebony warrior for the purpose of testing their strength for a sort of ragnarock like event that might happen somewhere within the future of the elder scrolls
Y'all don't know how to procrastinate. I'm lvl 100 and still not done with Harkon. Only reason I defeated Miraak is cause that jagoff's a thief. A soul thief, not cool kind. I've also procrastinated in ever getting my life going
What if you check Sovngarde both before and after killing him in order to check if anyone new appeared there ( in two different games ofc ).. or does he simply not appear there if you kill him?
I think there is a possibility that the Ebony Warrior says Sovngarde because he is in a Nord area...and figures a local might not be familiar with the religious ideas from far away Hammerfell.
My theory is that the Ebony Warrior is another Last Dragonborn besides the main character Nowhere in the game's lore states that there will be ONLY one Last Dragonborn and this is why Skyrim differs from its predecessor the Oblivion Because unlike in the Oblivion there are several choices that the main hero can make which have different outcomes and consequences for example during the civil war you can either choose the Rebels or the Empire during the Dawnguard questline you can either choose the Dawnguard or the Vampires and so on So it is not far fetched that there are multiple Dragonborns each one of them choosing his/her own fate After all the Dragonborn no matter how powerful they can be he or she is just a mortal that can be killed like all other mortals so having one mortal facing a godly demonic dragon that can summon meteorites and devour worlds and it's up to that one Dragonborn to stop him to me the concept is dumb to say the least
It's Talos the Immortal and those kids of his that all look the same are spread all over Skyrim like a soft gutted, snow backed milk-drinker on their way to serve Azura as Concubines...
Problem is Cicero is sane. We the Dragonborn are not. How else would you explain that we needed to cross the border into Skyrim at the beginning of the game, when a civil war is going on.
I mean, one of the shouts you can unlock literally slows down time. Therefore, time manipulation is confirmed in this universe. So I can definitely see either a future version of yourself, or an alternate version of yourself, getting so powerful that they rip a tear in time to fight themselves (you). All because they learned the only thing that can kill them...is themselves(you). This theory can easily be destroyed by the fact apparently, the Ebony Warrior is ALWAYS A Redguard. So unless the Redguard is the only rendition of you in the multiverse to ever get THAT powerful, and all other versions fall short...it doesn't really hold up.
There is also a theory that ebony warrior is spirit of vengeance. So khajits belive in few spirits that they fear. 1. Lorkhaj(their version of lorkhan), deadric prince namira, noctra the shadow thief, deadric prince vermina and a spirit known as spirit of vegenance. It only appers at songs and it has no will at it own. It was born from azura after death of lorkhaj(lorkhan). Nobody knows its true name except azura, boethian and mephala and when it appers, it always appers in full set of ebony armor.
My first thought was he was supposed to be like mirror character to your character. As to why he is a red . His race wasn't supposed to be known and they used a place holder and they forgot to remove the ability to take his clothes off.
One theory that not many state. He could just be a delusional psychopath. Not everyone has to be in their right mind, nor honorable, nor telling the truth of what they tell the Dragonborn. Maybe he's just a brute that likes to kill and will say anything to someone he thinks is a challenge in order to get them to come fight him.
Lying or not he is strong enough to have a no match when it comes to combat in the entirety of Skyrim. Which alone makes him a legendary being, his mental health condition is obviously not fully disclosed.
2:45 not exclusive to "nord warriors", but exclusive to "true nords"... Which means different thing. "True nord" for me means a warrior who lives (and dies) by the code of trues sons (and daughters) or North and it's ancestors which does not necessarily mean he/she has to be a nord by blood. (edit: some typos thx to my stupid phone)
I don't think he being a redguard is special. I think they wanted him to be fully black to honor his name. So the blackest dude they could make is the redguard.
I think the Ebony Warrior being a Redguard is just a hint that the next game will take place in Hammerfell. You have other references to Hammerfell in the game as well, such as the sidequest involving Saadia and the Alik'r or how the guards keep talking about curved swords. It's a little like Fallout 3, that had a side quest about androids, The Institute and The Railroad, heavily hinting to the plot of Fallout 4.
I always thought of the Ebony warrior was suppose to symbolize another player whos reached max level and the only challenge he would have left is to face another max level player
This is the most horseshit Skyrim "mystery". He's literally just Umbra. There's no Umbra in the vanilla game (only a CC mod), but this dude shares every feature in common with previous Umbras. He's Umbra. Stop overthinking it.
Ebony Warrior is a Redguard because redguards have 50% poison resistance, as well as normal height (which is even modified in EW's case) as well as uses "human" voice for shouts. He's the perfect warrior you can build in the game with most of his things covered. Although him being a godly avatar of redguards is nice for lore reasons.
I always soul trap the Ebony Warrior and then use his soul to enchant as sword. Seems fitting as by level 80 there can still be much to do. Also as the Dragonborn is Shor, he gets to sit in Shor's throne in Sovngarde which only Shor can do, then it's up to the Dragonborn who gets into Sovngarde.
My hottake: Ebony Warrior is to YOU. What Shin Akuma is to Ryu. Similar Powers dialed up to 11. Increased physical health. Increased durability. Extra Damage not available to you. Umbra would be like the Base Form Akuma. From when neither of you could shout. ____ Because Bethesda loves Pop Culture references. In all forms of Media, Akuma is doing his own thing, but watching from the shadows. When he feels he finds a worthy opponent, he strikes. But he has his code. Its kind of like how Umbra/Ebony Warrior are not hostile to the player, and in some form, only fight the player on their terms.
Or it could be the ultimate plot twist in ES6 where that player is the ebony warrior and a plot point is that you have to journey to Skyrim to fight the rumored Dovakin and have him send you to Sovengard to acquire an Elders scroll that is needed for the evil aloof in Hammerfell........
If the Ebony Warrior were meant to be strong his gear would have two enchants instead of one each, his armor would be improved, and at least one or two artifacts on him with three enchants, or some unique but powerful effect (like "resist Marked for Death"). Just sayin'.
Theoretically you could reach level 80 and defeat the Ebony Warrior before going to sovngard to kill Alduin. What are the odds you would see him there if you did things in that order?
Do you know what I've been way cooler like after you beat them and you take their helmet off it's just a recreation down to the very last point of your character and then his Spirit pops out saying your face everything you have faced yourself and your foes you are ready to go on to move on like that would have been so much cooler because they're just you
It's todd howard. Skyrim was always multiplayer, but there was only 1 player that could invade other people's games. He built the ebony warrior to stomp you down. He then sits at his computer looking for 80+ level players on a road and connected online. Then he challenges you, and if you don't fight him, then he calls you a wuss and feels like a big man.
Maybe there's a Easter egg with the Ebony Warrior. Maybe if you kill him and go to Sovengard (u must have the quest, although im pretty sure you'd already have completed the quest, but still) he'll be there? Maybe, but we don't know.
If you get to the ebony warrio and kill him before completing the game. When you get to the mission that takes you to sovengard. Will he be there?? Anyone know?
my dad had figured out how to get umbra at level one in oblivion, you go to where she is, hit her with a bow, bolt for the exit, and get on a horse and hightail it to the imperial city to let the guards take care of her
@@Sam7ny you could try looking it up on the wiki or just go install a mod like Helgen Starter Chest and boost all your skills to 100? Been playing since midnight release 12.5 years ago.
Although I like your theory, it’s not very plausible. If the ebony warrior were just a manifestation of the player characters mind, no one else could see him but the player character. Attacking him/ trying to pickpocket his sweet armor in cities will cause the guards to attack you and cause you to accrue a bounty in that hold.
