I was adopted and met my biological father in 2016. I found out that I had 9 generations from eastern Kentucky. I’m in Utah. So I love hearing these stories. Funny thing is when I was just a kid. I would rather listen to Bluegrass more than popular music and I am a retired coal miner. That acorn don’t fall far from the tree, no matter who and where you are.

I figured early in the story that Ovie was a soul who wanted to be close to someone, to be needed. When Ovie felt her Earthly time at last fulfilled was when she could finally slip her Earthly bonds and answer God calling her home. I needed the goodness of Susan and Ovie, thank you Jared😊

This is from what I have been taught. Each of us was put here for a reason. Ovie had not completed her work here on earth. She died too soon inside the church. After Ovie completed that job, she was at peace with God. Ovie was here to advise and help save Susan (because, Susan had important work to do for God and the people). This is a wonderful story. I was talking to my daughter when she was about 4-5 and said "you probably don't remember your Grandpa" She said oh yes I do. He stands near my bedroom door at night when I'm sleeping. She was 1 1/2 years old when he passed away.

Many people go to church on Sunday for an hour or so, believing God is there. I hike in the woods almost every day. That is my church. Look around there, what you are seeing is God's creation. Mountains, rock formations, trees, wildlife. People didn't create this, God did. I speak to him there, and all the loved ones I've lost. And I believe they hear me.

I too had an old gramma from church warn me of a bad fella claiming to be good. He was tryin to shine as a good fella. She said her daughter had married up with this trickster fella’s dad. Her daughter was taken to a cave back in the hills and locked in for months with no escape. She was young and innocent and just wanted love. The old church gramma was warning me to not mess with this charming type trickster fella as he was just like his daddy. I reckon the ol church gramma saved me a lot o heartache as I thought I’d found a christian fella. I know God sent her to call me and tell me as I was so innocent of these types. My great-grandmother had faith, but also knew every plant that grew and how to make medicines from them. She was an expert at determining ailments - as good as any physician - not to mention a midwife who could actually turn babies who were breach or in the wrong position to be born. As she used to say, the Almighty gave us intelligence to use in gaining know-how so that we can do things for ourselves and to help others. Faith is a wonderful thing, but it's to be used along with knowledge and skill because He expects us to do what we can for ourselves before asking Him to do what we can't.

Me and my husband live in Baltimore, we only stay here because my husband was born and raised here , his grandmother still lives in the city my husband has been taking care of her since his grandfather died. She refuses to leave and my husband wont abandon her. But eventually my husband plains on taking us to west Virginia or somewhere around that way. An honestly I can't wait .
