The JGM10 has deeper bass and brighter harmonics for a full sound when playing solo guitar music. It has louder frets (yes, that's a thing!) for clearer hammer-ons. It has a unique body and bridge ergonomically designed for percussive playing. It has the perfect scale and string spacing for modern fingerstyle playing. It has a more stable neck for retuning. It has a unique triple-source pickup system by Fishman - Rare Earth humbucker, condenser mic and Powertap body sensor - wired so you can use one regular cable, or split into stereo, or even split into three. And it has a cool headstock shape I drew on my touchscreen laptop my mum bought me for my birthday.
Made with incredible woods painstakingly chosen via blind testing: Thermo-Aged Sitka Spruce top, Pau Ferro body (looks and sounds gorgeous), 5 piece Mahogany/Pau Ferro neck, Macassar Ebony fretboard and bridge.

I'm so proud of you, Jon. And I'm going to write this comment anyway, even if you'll never read, but I hope it gets to you somehow. I started listening to your beautiful sound about a decade ago, when you were a RU-vid star known only by a few music lovers, and now you finally got to have your own signature model. I met you once, a couple of years ago, in Reggio Emilia, and I told you you were my idol, only to hear you say that you hate being called like that because being an "idol" has never been your thing. But that was actually me mistaking one word for another because of the emotional moment. What I really meant is that you are my inspiration, as well as that of many many others. And with this achievement you will surely be for even more people. So, yeah, I'm proud of your success, and I wish you the very best. Chiara

Thanks man. The endorsements and signature models I had in the past (with Takamine back in the day and then Lowden) were all an existing guitar model, just with my wood choices and other details. To be able to design a guitar from scratch like this was such a privilege. I literally made drawings of body shape concepts, all kinds of ideas. I was never once asked to compromise on anything. (Although some things weren't possible because of the laws of physics. Pesky laws)

according to the man himself, the tuners are 130 bucks each so using 2 adds 260 to the price and he didn't like that (tho not really much of a difference since the guitar's like 3.5 grand) and the black satin finish is due to the spruce top looking really boring in a natural finish in his opinion

Thanks! It really does sound incredible. The sound on this video is the 3 built-in pickups, mixed together using some EQ and compression, plus a little bit of mic so it sounds "real" for room I'm in on the video (which is my spare bedroom studio. But then I added a church reverb effect so what the f**k am I even doing).

Looks great, sounds amazing but I can't help feeling a Jon Gomm signature guitar without banjo tuners on the top two strings is a bit like a Steve vai signature guitar without a floyd rose

A gorgeous instrument, congrats Jon! Had kind of hoped it would be a little more affordable as I really can't spend that much on a guitar right now... Then again, I can certainly see myself saving up this kind of money for such an instument, whereas I would never be able to justify spending the amount needed for a custom build.

I was dreaming for a collab with lowden!! But Ibanez came first !! And thanks for coming .. the only problem with percussive and guitar that sounds good plugged is the way that completely sucks unplugged, like Maton , Cole Clark... hope to see an acoustic demo for this model. Don’t like the headstock but is only a matter of taste

They cost ~100$ a piece and since he wanted the guitar to be affordable he sacrificed that. You can add them later youself.

That's right: They're very expensive and very very easy to add. I figured that some people won't want them, and would be annoyed about not having regular tuners. And the people who DO want them would probably be willing to add them themselves. What I will try to do, is make a little guide on my site, for where to get them and how to fit them. I'm not that great at making videos myself though!

At that price point its unfortunatly out of many people's reach. Especially with the way people around the world are currently struggling with unemployment and inability to even afford to live. Would love to pick one up for my elderly father who loves Jon and playing guitar, unfortunatly i gotta also eat.

Congrats Jon from sunny Skipton. The new sig is well deserved. Hoping to see your rescheduled Huddersfield gig later in the year... As for the price, I’m not sure what people expected. Pro level guitars for players Jon’s standard start around £2500. These are not solid body guitars - they are the upper end of luthier skill.

I got my O32 for £2500. Lowdens aren’t that much more, unless you’re referring to Jon Gomm’s sig model. Little pricey, but I can understand it. It’s got a good set of onboard electronics in it and a nice body shape with a cutout. If the unplugged tone is up to scratch I would say it’s a good deal. I’m very curious to try it. Edit. You totally were referring to the sig model, I completely miss read your post haha!
