voice of reader is very reasonable, calm and with recommendable pace and without stutter. I really enjoying listening to this book in this voice. Great upload.

Who cares about the comments. This is an extremely nostalgic piece of semi informative stuff that I really enjoyed listening to. Reminds me of being young in school. :)

Your playlists are filling me with excitement! 🥳 I just scrolled thru multiple titles to check for readers and to my delight many had the same narrator from start to finish! I realize these are free readings. I am thankful but as a matter of taste I cannot take the change of reader and confine to each the book. Thank you for posting so many quality pieces.

I am about to start the journey of listening to this... I read the comments first... to those complaining that this wasn't written in the early 21st century, get a hold of yourself. I for one am happy that it was written at a time pre-cultural revolution of the 1960s/1970s. Perhaps in some values, the medieval time was more in line with the early 1900s than the later, and I don't need another history "professor" using PC language of today and telling us all how terrible and backwards everything in the Medieval time was... how horrible it was that it wasn't multicultural and that we had identities, or that sexual restraint and traditionalism is equated to oppression etc... I think to hear from someone who is sympathetic to that time period is best. That said, I would like to learn more about the author himself... etc... well here I go...

For heaven's sake the book was written in 1906. Why not expect inaccuracies?

For a nation which I love and to which the world owes so very much, I am afraid the American accent was to much to enjoy this reading.

Great reading voice & captivating topic, too bad it's ruined with annoying soft music barely audible in the background. Either have it loud enough to be clearly heard, or none at all. Playing it at a 1 when the voice is at a 10 just makes it distracting. This was clearly put together by amateurs.

Nicely read, so many historical errors the book is almost a novel, presumably a very old book. The reader deserves better material.

Well it's VERY one sided. The Indians perished because they failed to learn meanwhile the Arian germans were "clearly" bettrer because they converted to christianity... But then again it is a very old book..

Horribly prejudicial and even racist outdated antiquarian interpretation of history. I did not last ten minutes with it. Unless you are writing a history of classical bias, this work is useless.
