Baz is a fucking monster. He's almost carrying the band. Fuck - his energy. Hugh? Who cares? We do. And that drummer is not Jet Black! This band is fucking incredible. What a fucking repertoire. Baz was meant to lead this band. No one will ever replace Hugh. Jesus, what a fucking band. They are the only ones still doing it and rocking it since '78.

'78 - they wrecked the world - They were PUNK '88 - they mellowed - They were songwriters '98 - they endured - They were still important '2008 - who are these old geezers? - They are the fucking Stranglers! '2018 - are they still alive? - Yes - more important than ever! The body of work these guys will leave is exemplary. But the fact they shit-lorded it with live gigs just gives them an edge of kudos. I never met them. I hope I never will. Fucking legends. Jet - Drums JJ - Bass Hugh - Guitar/Vox Dave - Keyboards And Baz... Nice and sleazy does it every time!

Fantastic concert, really great, and I understand why The Stranglers are still big stars 40 years after their beginning in 1974 ! Long life to Them, And I'm sure they will continue to make us dreaming...

I can't help myself. That drummer is fucking brilliant. Jet Black is the King. Nearly half a century motherfuckers! Not even Ken Dodd could handle it! I need drugs.

Wonder why ARTE CONCERT took this off their channel? Unless Stranglers made it into a dvd? I remember this tour, found the video clips so random but perfectly timed with the songs, especially Was It You, that's yet another song the Stranglers play so much better live, nowadays anyway now they are so raw. These guys play so much concerts, wonder if even they know how much gigs The Stranglers have played.

I follow the group since middle of the 80's. This concert was for me one of the best i can assist. Wonderful interpretation of La Folie. Always on the Sun !

I've seen the stranglers times over the years and this is the best I've ever heard them. The sound mixing was superb. Very good recording.

JJ a real rock n roll wild man , you can on;y really begin to imagine the shit he,s been up to , although a fair bit of it was spread across the tabloids in the 70.s and 80.s .

Seen the Stranglers at the Glasgow Apollo in 1978 and a few times after that.Going to see them at Kilmarnock Grand Hall on 10th March.Cant wait.So much better than today's crap

„Real“ Stranglers or not, I‘ve appreciated a great gig!

So many things to fucking say, OMG, first, I can't believe how much soul and passion they put into this concert, for their age, 60, or there abouts, WTF, most songs sound like the original version, unlike the ROLLING BONES, sorry, STONES, for instance. I'm sick of listening to English bands, coming out of retirement, to do gigs for money, but at least these dudes still sound good. But that is to be expected, they are one of the premier bands to come out of the punk movement, along with the Clash & Pistols. But it's amazing how things go around, and come around, the STONES were the antidote to those who didn't like the Beatles, with the DOORS coming in at a close 3rd, of all time best bands on the planet. 15 years later 3 more bands became the best on the planet, CASH, AND PISTOLS & the STRANGLERS, but instead of the STRANGLERS coming in a very close 3rd, aka, the DOORS, because the pistols only made one KILLER album, I'de put the STRANGLERS along side the CLASH, as the two BEST BANDS, of the last 40 years, there are no bands anymore, that ERA has passed, but I'm glad I was around to see it and feel it. Oh, bye the way, I'm actually a SOUL boy, soul and funk take up 95% of my music, with JIMI HENDRIX taking up the other 4%, so the punk music was a blip in my musical evolution, but a fucking nice blip. That 1% was just as creative as all the black music that was made, in the last 50 years, because it was DIFFERENT, songs like '' PEACHES '' ''NICE N SLEAZY '' " GOLDEN BROWN '' were different from anything else, but catchy, had a remarkable riff, and lyrics to cut your balls in half, outstanding.

Those who mention Hugh, he was great back in the day but if you think he'd be good now listen to him doing stranglers songs now. Not good I'm afraid.

We see them down at Alencon ,at le lucillo ,its only a small gig , but they played it though there was not much money in it for them , they are a TRUE PEOPLES BAND , who just want to make share good times and have fun and are very easy to talk too , NO big star thing ! cheers Billy great upload ! ritchie .

When I hear waltz in black and the end of peaches I always think. Of the TV cook Keith Floyd who was a friend of the band and used both as the opening and closing of his bbc TV shows. He also used viva vlad as incidental music.

I don't want to be rude, but I think Baz looks like someone from the 'Walking Dead', and would be suitable in a Boris Karloff film as a zombie. Totally perfect for this role. Perhaps he could give up being a Hugh-substitute, and pursue a career in horror films.
