Strategy is very specific to the success of an international business, so this video was very helpful for me to be able to see how certain strategies make or break the growth of a company. It was helpful for me to see examples of specific companies and countries and how they conduct business and marketing.
As a business student I really enjoyed watching this video I had no idea of how many strategies go into international business. What I really liked was that the instructor used real companies as examples. That really helped me understand everything better.

I never realized there were so many different kinds of strategies that you can use within international business. Given the real world examples in the video I managed to have learned a lot. Just reading pages off of a page sometimes does not stick with me, but given the examples I feel as if i can really grasp and understand the concept of strategies used during international business.

The main pressure that was explained in this video that I found interesting was the pressure for cost reduction. In the global markets we see many examples of international businesses being affected by these different pressures in the market. An example I liked from this explanation was a manufactuer mass-producing a standardized product at the best location somewhere in the world. This goes into how a firm could choose to outsource the product for its low cost benefits in order to reduce costs.

Mass Production in an optimal location to reduce costs are not an easy feature, it is very easy to think that producing products in another country will benefit greatly but in reality, there are many factors to it besides the wage of workers. Exporting and Importing goods for me were huge factors in this discussion I had with some friends. So many factors and pressures are dealt with when it comes to this and its nice to hear the different strategies companies can take to respond to such questions.

I loved this video! It reminded me of the time I was in England and we went to McDonalds. After eating English food for two weeks I wanted just a bacon cheeseburger from McDonalds. When I ordered my food I noticed that the menu was different from the one back in the United States. I got my cheeseburger and I noticed that the bacon was not what I would call Bacon at all. It was actually what the English call Rashers. Which is essentially a slice of bacon that looks more like ham. It was interesting to see how McDonald's had catered to the environment that it was in to become more profitable.

I was always puzzled about why a company would take away jobs from people already working in the company. I also like to see that some of the biggest corporations are those that have international business and are not just represented in one company. Globalization and International Businesses can bring so much more profit and value to a company which can be great for shareholders. It can be very costly to enter a market, so you need to make sure by performing analysis based on the model in this video, to know that the market you will enter, has a high chance of gaining sales.
The international strategy seems to me to be the go to when it comes to international business for product companies due to the major advantages of low pressures for local responsiveness and low pressures for cost reductions. Great video. Most of the information here are things that I knew on one level, but I admit I did not know the terminology. As for local responsiveness, I have to admit that I relate to Britain in there position on "high-pressure" sales. I receive all of the advertising calls for my company and would much rather prefer a "softer" approach than what seems to be the standard practice here.
My biggest issue with pressure for cost reduction is the ethics of it, I know many times that the people who work for these lower wages in these countries are often the only bread winners for their families, but I cna't help but think the companies are saving enough to where they couldoffer better work conditions and wages.
