While their work feeds AI systems, the artist receives no financial compensation or recognition of authorship. Since you keep responding to my previous comments, I would like to again remind you that despite some people enjoying this 'art form', AI artists will just have to accept that many will never respect this medium. Some of us feel it is important to educate the general public on how AI 'art' is, in fact, plagiarized by definition. Some may be able to enjoy this media, but many will always dislike it. That's something that AI users will always have to accept. Cheers!

AI has allowed people who have wonderful imaginations, but not the ability to put their imagination to paper in a satisfying way, the ability to do so. Pretty much all art is derivative from something that came before it anyways. If someone creates a completely unique piece of art via AI, I don't see how that is stealing.

No human being can, would, or should be expected to draw that many iterations of the same image that blend into each other in that way, let alone ones of painterly quality, it's just not realistic. That isn't even mentioning that the front and back of the boat are both facing the front in the first iteration, something a human being with the talent and willpower to draw something like this would not do. And yes, it is plagiarism. Image generative AI works by taking a plethora of sample images, tracing the patterns and categorizing them. This requires thousands of samples, most of which are scraped from swaths of the Internet with no regard for the copyright or permissions of the images' creators or owners. It is literally copying and tracing other peoples' work without permission. And also it isn't "cool". Using an image interpolator to move between images in the most linear way possible is boring and goes against the fundamental principles of animation. I recommend the video "Smoother animation ≠ Better animation [AI ENHANCED]" by Noodle for a primer.

​@Umberto2 AI models are trained to use real artists' work, and artists don't get any compensation. AI art tools use pattern recognition to create new art from existing work, such as trees that are made from data from other artists' trees. So all AI "art" is stolen art.

How do you know which model was used and whether or not it’s an ethical model?

AI art is not art.
