The Strokes soundcheck and first ever UK interview at the Astoria in London, ahead of their performance at an NME gig in February 2001. Interview by Paul McNamee.
All those areas are very associated with punk rock like New York where they’re from and Detroit. Detroit is actually where punk rock started in the seventies. It may have even kind of evolved out of rockabilly that started to sound more punk rock like in the sixties. Ramones we’re from New York also though there was another band that like just three letters can’t remember exactly but they may have been the first while the Ramones were the first with a full debut.
@ComeAlongKay why are you spreading misinformation. Detroit? Why because of the stooges from Ann Arbor? Or the MC5? Which js ptobably the 3 letter band you couldnt think of. Proto punk at best. The bowery area kf new york with bands like the new york dolls simaltaneously created punk and glam. Punk wasnt mentioned or defined in these times until the exploitation of the dead boys. Which is pretty fucked up. What were we talking about again..??😅😅 Anyways cheers🎉
He’s always been considered the most attractive or conveniently attractive, during the early 2000s lots of people commented on his cheekbones and said he could’ve been a model
