This comment is literally over a decade old but if by chance you see this reply, where'd you find the demos? Are they still downloadable to, like, mp3?
I am a Audio Engineer and almost every day I have to listen to about 7 hours of Pop every day. When you love rock with a passion, pop kinda just wants to make you burst out and start singing some of The Strokes music. Fuck it I'm going to do that tomorrow and get fired. TOTALLY WORTH IT.
i'm really digging julian's voice in the early demos, its a little more typical than his signature croon but not in a bad way, it shows us that even the greatest of performers start somewhere :)
And you're my favorite son he said and I'm not there In your life Cause I'll be free but its at large today And thou the ships it passed and on the end It's my way Because I know sometimes again It's unclear Purchasing lost, the skies on the size on the end It's my ways of living life and it's a certain town I breathe down five next on the track on the end Getting down it's like a social event its all proxy glass And I can't get on today He did a man for 20 days, he said I know Sliding in the room he's got 25 dollars for you If you can give him a hand I'm tired of life, I'm tired tonight I'm on the end In my life, living life is dirt & sour Keeping the dragon on the end It's my way summer day and I'm deep in my own And I promised you all No I won't sit down And I'll be chasing all those people around Who's they? Storm in my room I get a little used to you But I only meant
how is nobody else hearing the Pearl Jam influence? I know that it's cool to like the Doors and all, and that it's never been cool to like Pearl Jam, but seriously, they were a huge influence on the Strokes and I can hear it everywhere
i wasn't really sure it was julian casablancas at first but now im pretty sure it was him... like 10-12 years ago.... around the song last nite or earlier
@@nnikaa3 when she left this comment 9 years ago i doubt she would have thought that people will be commenting and responding nearly a decade later wow lol
Oh yes, I am sure this IS Julian....in his early days, he sounded somewhat like Jim Morrison.....but yeah, this if for sure Julian! I think he was just finding his "voice" at this time..if you know what I mean
Sounds like an early version of Sagganuts. But yeah this is clearly Julian. I have no idea how someone could think this was Paul McCartney. Kooks I could get, but McCartney??
omg, that hurts so bad. calling me an adolescent really hits home. i mean that is the best way to insult someone, u know calling them a "goof" and calling them 5. dude u told me. i now know to never mess with u while ur on ur period.
well im 14 too but really who cares what age u are i hate pop too as long as ur not like everybody else our age listening to pop shit and u actually listen to class songs like this then ur class!:)
this doesnt sound like the strokes to me at all. if it is them then their sound has changed A LOT. i really dont think its them though. that doesnt even sound like julian to me.
