you see Mr.streamer, the bauble slows enemies on hit making them easier to hit multiple more times, therefore increasing your DPS substancially, making it the best damage oriented item on the tier 2 slot. . . . . Kappa
One thing I will say in defense of the bauble: It's good at keeping Engineer Gauss turrets alive against melee enemies. The slow effect prevents them from closing in on your turrets before your turrets can kill them.
Cronobauble isn't the best item but it's pretty good. Maybe it's just cause i main loader but slowing enemies down is a pretty useful option. I can pop the tesla coil or any other aoe move on other characters and then they're all slowed, giving me time to pick them off. It also basically freezes two of the three early game bosses in place which really can help with a kit like loader that needs consistent hits to build shield. I can see how a few of the cast don't get use out of it but rex, loader, acrid, mul-t and maybe even merc can use it a little bit. But hell, even then i'm an easy mode noob who plays on nintendo switch so what do i know.
I'm sorry for the offtopic. But i have to ask, i'm new to the game, and i keep having insanely good runs, the type of stuff you see once in a lifetime in other roguelikes, is it Normal? I'm not saying the game is easy because it's not, but is the rng somehow bugged for me? Can that even happen? My luck is usually garbage so that's why i'm asking...once i got 4 legendary items in a row, i just don't get it, it makes the game more fun but it's still weird since i'm used the the binding of isaac molesting my luck at every run Btw, i love this game and this channel helped me improve quite a lot, thanks
it may be a bit unusual to get God runs THAT consistently, especially as a newer player - are you on Monsoon? otherwise, just sounds like you're a natural (and getting some nasty RNG!)
@@Woolie i play on the hardest difficulty because i am a veteran warframe player so this game feels pretty natural. At least i know it's not bugged, thank you very much you're great :D
Artifact update changes this up a lot. Command says, Armor plating and sunglasses are a great combo. Then, dio's best friend is basically the same as damage reduction.
57 leaf clover is actually overrated because it needs other items to be any good. This makes it very situational, and a better choice for the number one spot would be the happiest mask.
Edit: Note, the following two paragraphs are mega cringe made by yours truly. I understand that Dorky was almost certainly being sarcastic, but I lacked the context to truly understand and made the wrong assumption along with a few others here since the written word sucks at giving enough tone and clues on it's own to understand sarcasm in such a short amount of words. That being said, enjoy my passionate rambling about game mechanics if you want to and maybe laugh with me on how seriously I'm taking Dorkly's post. It's situational condition isn't negative enough and just about every item in the game is conditional. What it effects is incredibly abundant and the effect is so exponential that no other red comes close to it's power. Sure, you might have a single run with clover that ends because you didn't have anything to proc it with, but you can essentially say the same or something similar for every single item in this game. Additionally, having bad luck with item rolls after getting a single good one will kill any run you play; it's not unique to 57-leaf Clover. Thus, it's the fact that it exponentially increases the conditional effect of all but 1 item in the game that makes it far, far greater than any red. For example, Happiest Mask's conditional requirement is to kill things so if you already lack damage it won't save your run. Not to mention the game's friendly AI needs some work since they get stuck on everything and can't prioritize bigger threats. Also, the specific type enemy ghost you get may not be that great. Finally, the things you want as a ghost are likely the tankiest enemies around.
@@axolot12345 I have, it's just that text doesn't translate sarcasm well at all. You need to add something to it to give the context of humor, something that's not present in Dorky's post. Or, just simply know the person and I don't know Dorkly. Woolie's post also wasn't there for me when I was making my response to add the context either. Therefore, I assumed it was a geniune response and I do apologize for giving them an earful.
And it slows enemies down by a LOT so I actually really like it. I combine it with mul-t's blast canister, ukeleles, brilliant behemoth and shatterspleen with 10 crit glasses for maximum crowd destruction
As somebody who’s seen some crazy death mark runs, having just one stack of chronobauble makes procing death mark much easier as it’s a reliable source of one debuff.
@@romannasuti25 I think this easily classifies it as " not the worst item in the game ", so while I appretiate Woolie's jokes, (because stacking chronobauble is worthless), it also deserves its place as one of the first green items i get on a command run.
@@contentiouscritic yeah, if you had to introduce a borderline broken item that is activated by a shitty item, that shitty item is still shitty, it's just enabling something better.
OMalleyTheMaggot nah right? It’s just a two piece item in some sense because otherwise they’re both “bad” / not as good. Plus chronobauble has a decent effect actually in some instances. Admittedly it’s only use is really as a one stack. It’s still not the last item I get on command
I’ll never forget finding a Clover printer on a god run I was doing with a friend. We both had plenty of rare items, so we gave up 10 rare items each for 10 clovers and it was glorious chaos
I'm always surprised the disposal missle launcher doesn't get more love...hits for a total of 3600% damage and each missle hit has a proc coefficient of 1. With just 1 gesture and few fuel cells you can fire them basically non stop. Plus they're homing so you don't even have to do anything as they just kill everything on and off screen while you collect loot...
IIRC, missiles of any kind will dissipate if they hit a ceiling. So while missiles are great damage sources, if you’re flying around a lot in enclosed spaces or go into areas with very low ceilings, you can accidentally neuter your damage output. Still, they’re superior crowd control to cap, so I’d take missiles any day.
@@romannasuti25 actually missiles don't have collision with walls or ceilings or really anything other than enemies. riskofrain.fandom.com/wiki/Disposable_Missile_Launcher_(Risk_of_Rain_2) And if there aren't any enemies they just circle until some appear or they respawn after like 20 or 30 seconds
Brook Meade I've found that they actually do explode on ceilings or overhangs, and that if there's no enemies around it doesn't take too long for them to rocket back into the ground (about 20 seconds, as you said)
@@Woolie I would expect nothing less from someone who doesn't put the Chronobauble at #1. Like, who even does that? What, next you'll tell me that Red Whip isn't the best right after it?
Note to anyone who sees this: As of the 1.0 update one shot protection does NOT work with shaped glass. You can die from fall damage with shaped glass now too.
For anyone watching this video now the irradient pearl drop chance has been buffed from 4% to 20% so still unlikely to get one in a run but definitely an improvement
I don’t play monsoon so maybe this is an incorrect statement but I think the head stomper legendary is really underrated. You can use about 4 or more wax quails on a slope, fly stupidly high in the air and one shot the teleporter boss.
No it really is underrated. The potential damage of it is massive, a single band then multiplies it by 300% and there's just nothing that survives that 300000% total damage or whatever insane number it is. It's not better than a clover but it deserves a high spot on the list of good reds.
yea bro, the very first item i got on a run the other day was a clover. By the time the run was finished, 330 minutes later, stage 32, it was glorious.
The most heartbreaking moment for me in this game was when I found and atg cauldron AND a 57 leaf clover cauldron in the bazaar at the same time, and it was a command run
@michaelbarcena1695 I just figured out artifacts earlier! I've only had the game for a day. I just got the command one, having a blast with the game so far
For the boss items, I would say that Little Disciple would be right with Genesis Loop due to the fact that it's incredibly similar to N'Kahuna's Opinion except healing isn't required. I've gotten tons of runs where I've gotten one or two disciples and all I had to do was sprint next to enemies and they were instantly melted.
@@freefalling4271 To be fair, while Genesis Loop is good, and don't get me wrong I think it's a fantastic item, I feel that Little Disciple is better on the majority of Survivors, where Genesis Loop only really shines on Engineer.
Unless they add 56 leaf clover, 57 is staying top tier. And they'd have to make 56 a legendary. They wont add it because it let you completely break the game in the original, but its effect is even better than the 57.
6:55 I myself would have voted for Little Disciple because despite not knowing what its proc coefficient IS I know it is higher than 0 and getting free attacks while sprinting is useful on anyone as it gives strafing characters more opportunities to sprint without stopping their attacks completely and it gives characters with sprint attacks even more attacks.
i dunno about razor wire, it only really becomes incredibly strong on certain survivors (rex) or with certain setups (hellfire tincture) this is the same case for the bustling fungus (engineer), which didn't make the list because of its niche usage
I don't know, I like the fact that I don't need to manage it, it works on it's own. Enough gestures and catalysts and it's always going off, and it wins my fights for me so I can loot.
It's not as good by itself. However, the relatively low CD and the fact that missiles require no targeting make it an absolute monster for fuel cell/gesture combos.
acrids poison, rex's weaken and root, artificers freesze, merc/mul-t blast canister/stun grenade stun and there are 3 different strength slows that can be used from huntress arrow rain, chronobauble and runalds band (in order of strength) that count as different debuffs. Last but not least there's shattering justice before and after the 5 hits to proc it
Early game Red Whips are deceptively strong in how they work for you. You can clear early stages substantially faster (and open more chests in less time) getting more items and wasting less time. The faster clear times and more items early on has a multiplicative effect where by the time you make it to your 2nd or 3rd loop, you are stronger with more items, and the enemy are weaker due to a faster clear time and less enemy scaling over time.
Rose Bucklers have grown on me for the same reason Elephant has grown on you. One of the few items in the game that can protect you from a Scavenger with Ceremonial Daggers.
For shaped glass, I think there's a pretty fair argument to "Kill them before they kill you." We're all human, we make dumb mistakes, stacking glass takes away our ability to make mistakes.
Nah, once you get past two Shaped Glass then you're powerful enough to just grab some healing and constantly abuse one-shot protection. I had 7 once in a run and it was CAKE after I got the third. I ended up with single digit HP and any time I took damage I would trigger one shot protection and instantly heal back to full. It's broken as hell tbh.
Woolie: There are very few things in Risk of Rain 2 that can increase your damage Focusing Crystal: Am I a joke to you? And yeah Focusing Crystals can actually be very powerful in giving you increased damage, I got lucky one time with a Shrine of Order and it gave me 162 Focusing Crystals and I was either killing enemies in one or two shots but with the disadvantage of always having to be 13m close to enemies to make use of the effect. But it does work very good with Mercenary, Mul-T, and GoodB0iPoisonDoggo.
keep getting one-shot because you have 11 health with 3,000 shaped glass? are you tired of only being able to get one full glass run every year? well bison steak has the solution! 10 or 20 of these bad boys and you're back to 200 HP, no problemo! (side effects include: still getting one-shot, randomly dying, sudden heart attacks, all your teeth turning into cheese) (note: bison steak is not responsible for getting one-shot anyway because 200 HP on stage 30 is nowhere near enough to not get one-shot.)
I would have rated fuel cell as strong, with a bunch of fuel cells and a royal capacitor and a gesture your gaze becomes a ridiculously powerful weapon constantly calling down lightning bolts
Problem with fuel is that its not really strong unless you have 8+ of each. Might as well say Lens-maker is just as strong because "if you have enough" you basically have double damage.
With that combo Rocket Launcher is even better IMO. You constantly spam rockets without end and it requires no targeting on your behalf. Your rockets just fly out and automatically obliterate everything.
Chronobauble is now a semi-okay item if you have deathmark. Not for its effect, just that it has a guaranteed one in hit and pretty much the only fully 100% reliable debuff in the game and really just lowers deathmark's requirmentfrom 4 to 3 debuffs on an enemy.
I always thought that leeching seed would be near the top for items but it's not even an honorable mention. I do understand though Same thing with interstellar desk plant
"because all the items you get are determined by rnjesus himself, HEY MR STREAMER IN THE ORIGINAL RISK OF RAIN THERE WAS A ARTIFAC CALLE COMMAND AND IT LEts you pIKC THE ITEM YOU WANT who else is hyped about artifacts and bandit doe
I once got genesis loop on engineer, the turrets copy over your stats, they constantly died and so there was a spam of 6000% damage explosion killing everything nearby, best run I have ever had.
Brainstalks is my favorite red. Its definitely not as good as the clover, but it has the best feedback of any item. Especially playing on someone like merc, everytime you kill an elite you go super sayin and can dash around infinity while invulnerable. Unless your really paying attention, you tend to not even notice that your have a clever after a while, but the games makes sure you know you have a brainstalkes because it tints your screen on activation.
Id even argue that the meathooks are tied with the clover. There are only 3 items that do true proc chains: Atg, Uke and the Meathook. A raw clover and a raw meathook don't do to much, they both scale very well with on hits though. Without the meathook you can only can some chains with the atgs proccing ukes or vice versa, the meathook significantly increases the ammount and the lenght of your proc chains.
Ngl, would have thought you'd at least mention the fact that gnarled woodsprite has some pretty dope synergy with warhorn, having about 50% uptime of +70% att speed with just those two items. I'd have thought it'd be worth noting, but yeah.
A shame that disposable missiles aren't mentioned here... higher total DPS to the capacitor as well as a proc coefficient makes it significantly more useful before you have access to a number of fuel cells. Not saying the capacitor is worse, it's CLEARLY much stronger at later stages in the game, but the disposable launcher is my go-to equipment for the first loop.
I don’t understand how this happened but there was this time where I used the jade elephant and died instantly from the enemies a little bit after, went down to like -237 health
Just a random tidbit, but I use this item combo to obliterate on Monsoon easy. Get 9 lens makers glasses, 1 predator instinct and then stack Harvester’s Scythe. You do double damage and heal on every hit. That can be doubled by using Rejuvenation Rack, which you can stack as well! I do it a lot and become a tank every run on any character. Hopefully it helps the new players!
On mercenary, had a altar of order, items after that were 2 times glass, 2 times sacrafical daggers, aaand 17 times the jump boost item, that leaps ya forward. Trust me, ain't a pleasant experience
I actually keep an eye out for the Chronobauble for one thing: Mithrix. My first time killing him, he could hardly move, let alone reach me, and I realized it was due to the Baubles I had. Actually for real, if you aren't on a character/item setup that has an "oh shit, gotta move" contingency, it is helpful as hell on a boss that can obliterate you if he gets close.
i would actually argue that attack speed is good on artificer too as it charges nano bomb faster paired with backup mags for quick huge damage but i agree its not as important as on other characters
I think the Stun grenades should have an honorable mention. You can just spray a little of mul-t autonailgun on it and it stops its laser attack. Same with wisps.
They can be good, but they're not THAT good. Like I'd never see a shop with Stun Grenade, Hoof, Syringe and even for a second consider taking the Grenade.
Nah, the best item in the game is personal shield generator, especially when paired with shaped glass, there’s honestly no competing with that magical combo
How would you rate the Visions of Heresy on the survivors? So far I liked it on Acrid (duh), but also been testing it on Artificer and Engineer. Is that hella noob? :D
To me Blast Shower is a hell of a good equipment to have. I can't count how many times it saved my ass from Elites and Scanvengy bois. You can cleanse Fire, bleed, freeze, slow, anti-heal and even the after effect of the overloading elites. Add to that the extremely low 20 sec cooldown (meaning you don't even need any gesture or cell) and you got yourself the swiss knife of equipments. Only down side to me if we compare it with the jade elephant is that scavengers with daggers will always end your life and break your back.
The most impressive thing about Chronobauble is, that it is so useless on players, but so strong on enemies. This slowdown makes you an easy target for any enemy.
When you're one man fighting an endless stream of alien monsters slowly a few isn't going to do much of anything. When your the monsters it is invaluable. This is what we get for ridiculing chronobauble it will have its revenge.
If you have the spinel tonic with a jester and just 2 cells the time that the tonic is off is just 2 seconds so in that condition taking it is worth it
