Right now, it's my favorite episode, we have the beginning of Kikoru's character development, Kafka revealing his Kaiju side to Kikoru, and the introduction of Kaiju no. 9
Man, when Neel was talking about people hating on her, I was in denial lol because she's adorable. After last ep where she saved our boy and was a "HMPPFF! " kinda char lol you already know, Kikoru and Kafka have a dynamic of older brother type thing lol.
Fortitude is a scale to measure kaijus 1 to 10 Over 6.0 is a very strong honju(main kaiju) need at least a platoon to defeat it. They were saying the revied honju was 6.4 Over 8.0 means daikaiju (means ultimate kaiju) Over 9.0 is gonna be identified kaiju(they give them numers like kaiju no8, no6, so on Yea kafka(kaiju no8) has the highest fortitude in history so far
Think of the danger numbers like earthquakes. For a 2-3 on the Richter Scale, people can barely feel it. A 5 is considered light with some property damage at the epicenter. A 7 is considered a strong earthquake with $Bs in property damage and loss of life. A 9.0 is a once in 300 year quake with catastrophic building damage and mass loss of life. A 10.0 is a once in 1,000 year quake that has never been measured since the invention of seismology.
You probably saw this in this episode, but to answer your question at 1:38 He can transform partially, but not under the suit. Since the suit ,,fuses" with your body as they mentioned in the previous ep the Kaiju powers treat the suit as a layer of outer skin, which means that there is not ,,under" the suit, there is only ,,transform" since it isn't considered a clothing, but a part of it's wearer's body. Hope this answers your question :D (I might not be a 100% right here, but I think this is a satisfying answer. If I get further in the manga I'll change my comment on this.) Also you asked if 10 is the highest fortitude. Well, technically it's not the highest. That measuring system is based on the strongest Kaiju that humanity ever faced thus far as the base. Meaning that it can go above 10 but it's highly unlikely. And no, Kafka is a human that can turn into a Kaiju, Mr.Mushroom head is a Kaiju that can turn into a human. Not the same thing :D as far as im aware
1:43 what people don’t understand or misunderstand about Kafka is that his power works like Denji from Chainsaw Man. Like when he transforms, all his injuries are healed and shit like that… but let me assure you, that’s not the case. Kafka and his Kaiju #8 are two different entities in one body. When Kafka isn’t transformed, he is a normal human being just like Ichikawa, Kikoru or Hoshina. When he transforms, he goes full on Kaiju but retains his consciousness. When he transforms back, all the perks that came with becoming a Kaiju disappear as if they were never there. So, no, Kafka can’t heal from partial transformation; in fact, he can’t heal his real body at all. If he were to die in his real body, he’d be dead (or so I think based on what I’ve read in the Manga so far). The only time he can tank damage or deal damage or heal, is when he’s in Kaiju form. Some proof of that is provided at the end of this episode, when we see Kafka in a hospital bed. Meaning his injuries were not healed despite transforming. Another proof is provided in the next episode (which has already come out when I’m commenting this, so, it’s not a spoiler); Hoshina states that when Kaiju #8 appeared, Kafka’s vitals stopped coming in, which suggests that Kafka’s own existence straight up disappears when he’s in Kaiju form. There’s still some skepticism surrounding this discussion but this is the best explanation that I came up with. Lemme know what y’all think
Think of Kaiju scaling on the lines of a earthquake Richter Scale and you'll be better able to figure out the magnitude of how strong each Kaiju is. They are quite literally walking natural disaster so Kafka being 9.8 in scaling means he is a problem on feet. The fact that he isn't the only Kaiju of his kind as we've just witness means there could be more on his level or higher than his level that may have better use of their abilities and capable of military tactics that could lead to bigger incidents. If that's the case Kafka is probably the one major ace the defense force is going to need for upcoming Kaiju incidents. This is just me speculating though but that's pretty much what I understand so far with the few episodes out. I never looked into the manga since I barely have time for anime as it is.
Manga reader here, and to my knowledge you're pretty much spot on, I think the Richter scale is the inspiration for the Fortitude scale, but it's not identical, in the Richter scale each number is 10 times as powerful as the one that preceeded it, which in this episode's case would have made Kafka 1000+ TIMES as strong as the Honju he killed, which is a bit overboard I think. Ultimately it's a manga/anime so the system doesn't really need to make perfect logical sense, it just needs to give you a sense of where in the power scaling different characters/monsters are, same with the Defence Forces Unleashed Power numbers, just because two people have the same Unleashed Power doesn't mean they are exactly as strong as each other, they fight differently with different weapons, but it puts them in the same league of strength.
I don't think it was ever explained in the manga, but the way I understood this number system is sort of similar to earthquake intensity levels - magnitude. Each number is exponentially higher than the last. Like, the difference between 1 and 2 could be 100×, 2 and 3 could be 200×. It's a good way to keep the numbers with fewer digits. I stopped reading the manga when they announced that they're gonna make an anime, to keep the story fresh in my head. 😂
@@unkn0wngu4rd1an It's an exponential scale yeah, so each single digit step is 10x. Meaning a 3 is 10x stronger than a 2, which is 10x stronger than a 1. So 3 is 100x stronger than a 1. So a 9.x is several orders of magnitude stronger than a 6.x, literally thousands of times stronger. If you want to compare it to what kind of damage an Earthquake would do with those levels, 2.x is something you probably barely even feel and 5.x is... sizeable. Like causing millions of dollars in damage to a city size, though not particularly extreme. 7.x is billions of dollars in damage, buildings sustaining serious structural harm, multiple cities hit, bridges fracturing, it's bad. 9.x is the ground rolling like ocean waves, something big enough that it would affect an entire subduction zone, an entire coastline rather than just a localized area. Towns leveled, cities in ruins, concrete liquified, 70+ ft tall tsunamis..... a 9.x is the hand of god. If you want a real life example, google the "1960 Valdivia earthquake". I don't know what a 10 would be, I wouldn't want to know. It would feel like the end of the world.
@@Luckyeverdonstill only 9.6 kafka still 9.8 he not weak lol plus Kafka as mc he going get his kaiju powers to it's best after all manga called kaiju no.8 wouldn't be surprised final form is a giant form and it's mastered plus it was implied Kafka can get stronger
just "big monster" and the corps that similar to AOT, but the feels i think is more similar to My hero academia and also the bug kaiju concept is similar to parasyte
to answer your question about transforming, can't say for sure if he'd be able without ripping the suit and revealing himself lol that might be why he's not doing even partway. Plus, there's so many eyes watching everywhere, so it'd be risky.
Another mystery is about "special' Kaiju's" ability to heal the regular ones. Because Kafka said "Let's see how you heal this" and it really started to heal! But then Kafka said he's joking and the regen immediately stopped. Could it be, that Kaiju with numbers have total control over regular and ultimate ones?
not sure about the power scaling but it feels kinda like Richter scale for earthquakes, in that system each whole number is 10 times stronger than the number before, so a 6 on the scale is 10 times a 5.
the fortitude is kinda like earthquake, where there isn't a set level cap but they just kept it at a low number. the rating of the series also really just depend on how the author felt like it, take dragon ball as example, there's 2 different power rating system, Power Level is the one employed by frieza army, which is large numbers, namek arc Goku has 150M in that system, but babidi has a different rating system called Kili, where goku is rated as 3000 despite growing hundreds to thousands of times stronger than he was back in namek
Apparently there's a theory that Kafka actually commanded that kaiju to come back. That's why it tried, later he said don't come back and it stopped. If this is true this is some founding titan shit🔥🔥
The measuring systeme works kinda in like logarithms, the difference between lvl 4 and 5 is greater than the difference between 3 and 4. Resilience (or fortitude) 8.0 or above are considerer Mega Kaijus (Monsters), and the strongest kaijus in history (at least japan history I think, it hasn't been confirmed in the manga) are given code names: there's #1,#2,#3... up to #7, and kafka is #8. The one that showed up and shot kikoru is #9. Spoilers about #9 below: #9 is not a human who can turn into a kaiju like kafka, is a virus/parasite type monster than can mute, absord and fuse with other living creatures (By doing so he learns and acquires their abilities and strengh)
it seems like kafka and that other thing are similar but not the same, i would say in kafkas case hes human whos gained ability to turn kaiju while maintaining his sanity while the other thing that sitted in toilet is kaiju that can turn human from what i can see
My best guess is that either the Kaiju failed at controlling Kafka, or he's just stronger mentally and thus didn't succumb to the will of the Kaiju, at first I hated blondy but then I realised, she's not a bad person, she just has too much on her shoulders and built that personality to protect her inner child, I'm already seeing it, this anime is going to have some strong suport cast.
Kikoru is good girl. Cocky, but she needs very little time to get likable. And yeah, she has feeling of pressure and responsibility, deep personal one. But so true, people jumped on hate train so fast XD
The dude who is also a kaiju seems like not a human anymore and the kaiju took control over him and not human anymore because he was talking about why these humans like this, kafka on the other hand is in control for sure so excited about what to happen next, also did anyone noticed the kaiju who died even listen to kafka when he said can u be alive again and when he said plss don’t than it again stopped, clearly other little kaijus listen to kafka and also that other dude or kaiju itself take control over a human
The power scaling is like an earthquake scale in that its exponential. A 9.8 is absolutely absurd, at dozens of times more powerful than even an 8. Anything under 7 pretty much doesn't exist to him. It's not that 10 is the highest number; it's that the power level starts to peak out and it gets exponentially harder to reach a higher number (ie. the difference between a 1 and an 8 is smaller than the distance between a 10 and an 11).
based on this episode it doesn't look like he can transform inside himself. It seems more like a shell so using it for regen may not be possible, unless the damage is received in the kaiju form "He could body the one we saw earlier" if you're referring to the humanoid one, not necessarily since that one may not have been recorded (my theory). This is a complete guess but the scale of the Kaiju may be logarithmic, like Earthquakes, so "which means that each one-point increase on the scale represents a 10-fold increase in the magnitude of the quake"
answer to your first question about why he doesnt partially transform in the suit. my guess would be that for starters he didn;'t do it out of principle + his promise to ichikawa. there is no way for him to know they are actually monitoring everything through the suits. muscles, blood-flow, bones, bone density etc. he probly learned about it the moment they started telling him how much dmg he received. well its an estimated guess so take what i just said with a grain of salt
Go back to last episode. Each and every thing is being monitored by the suit. Also everyone knows everything is being monitored bcoz there was a screen right next to the suit for everyone.
About Kikoru's father, i felt he's like this kind of emotions just like how you saw Denken (Frieren: Beyond's Journey End) was. Actually, just give it a try to him, i mean, i got two clue for ya. Where is Kikoru's mother and is she joining Defence Corps too?
THE GOAT ISAO MF SHINOMIYA IS FINALLY HERE. LESHGOOOO💯 also no kafka is the only one of his kind(a human kaiju hybrid) whereas new kaiju is a REAL kaiju, just with the ability to morph his body(you can see the difference in the way they transform)
Spoiler: Kaiju no 9(the monster at the end of episode 4) is the main villain in this manga for now as far,The new manga chapter features kafka(kaiju mode) vs kaiju no 9
Her father's behaviour is the "stereotype asian parent" behabiour which says < It doesn't matter how good you are, don't expect to get my praise and just do better next time > Though from what I heard, it got better than it was like 10-20 years ago?
How can he be a loser as a parent? Without him, she would have been nothing but a brat without any confidence whatsoever. Hate disrespecting strict parents like that. Everything she achieved, she did because he pushed and supported her. Loser parents make loser childs. Soft ass parents who raise rich brats without pushing them or setting some boundaries set them up for a hedonistic life full of drugs and what not.
To answer your question. SPOILER ALERT There's no kaijuu surpasses kaiju no 8's fortitude, even in the latest chapter in manga. So Vice capt hoshina is right, that kaijuu is the the strongest kaijuu in history
"She has good heart, she is not bitch" yes sure man thats why she for no reason damaged his car, which is a crime BTW. Yeeee, not a bitch. How easily you can forgot bad things =/ and also she is talking to Kafka every time with intent to humiliate him. Sure, if its not a bitch - good to know.
Considering the fact that saving lives was at the forefront of her mind when faced with something that could harm others, as well as the fact she went out her way to rescue Kafka when he was injured, no, I don't think she's the awful person you seem to believe she is. She'll talk shit but it's not like she gets personal. It ain't that deep.
@@rimurutempest9733 oh no , im talking just about all things happened before he said it. All what we saw at THAT moment - she was a bitch. So at THAT moment IMHO there was no reason to say 'oh she is not a bitch I love her" later - for sure, but at that point? No
It seems really sus to me that the girl screams and suddenly the big @$$ kaiju suddenly grows back it’s super powerful horns. And the way she could heal herself, just saying.
? Did we watch the same episode? That kaiju healed because of the new guy that got introduced and the girl didn’t heal the suit was the one doing all that.
Maybe YOU should rewatch the ep because it was clearly the work of the new kaiju reviving it. Also it never said she healed she just moved the energy shield that comes equipped and focused it in to a single point
no. he cant do it. the suit is monitored. thats how they know he has internal bleeding and a broken leg. if he suddenly turns into a kaiju inside the suit, theyll see it on the read outs.
