My study techniques usually change depending on how I feel. One that I found really effective was one that I think I invented myself. (I really don't know whether I did or it had been invented before) but I call it 'The Storybook Method'. It's basically where you read your notes/slides like a storybook. When you read a storybook, I realized that you can usually remember the important parts of the stories (eg. Plot twists or where it usually gets interesting.) Although, this may not be the most effective method, especially if you are out of time and need to revise for the exam faster, but if someone does use this method I'd reccomend using it when you have enough time to read for the exam. This may also not help when studying subjects that involve lots of formulas, but you can try!
Timestamps of the four techniques: Active recall: 4:50 SQ3R: 6:13 Spaced Repetition: 9:52 the Feynman technique: 11:51 the Feynman technique example: 13:36 What's the best study-technique: 18:22 These stamps are meant for you to quickly navigate through the video, or if you want to rehear a certain technique for multiple times its quickly accessible here. Now that you heard some techniques, try to implement a technique in your own life. Apply the things that you learn. And take one step at a time to analyze what's working the best for you. Good luck!
Thanks for the great tips I've been trying different study techniques so far for me i find a combination of feynman technique and SQ3R really helpful I do take notes i find it it helps me to focus but although I Don't try to make it pretty cus it takes alot of time
Thank you for this insightful video! I’d like to add somethings especially for high school students: -If you’re studying a lot with practice questions/question banks, highlighting the questions you couldn’t understand after trying a few times and then asking them to your classmates&discussing the questions is super helpful. It saves so much time (comparing to finding a teacher etc.) and if your friend doesn’t know the solution you both will learn together after visiting a teacher. -Understanding where the formulas are coming from, especially for geometry&physics so you won’t have to memorize different question types. -Taking good care of your physical health. If you get enough sleep but you still feel tired and sleepy all day it could be because of your diet or low iron level. A blood check is highly recommended. :)
One thing I want to ask is..how to properly prepare for exams or just b4 2 weeks of exam? I mean, I think I am doing it wrong every time and not getting the marks which i aim for.
