I find myself drawn to tank destroyers on War Thunder and the StuG III G has quickly become one of my favourites. It’s a tank destroyer you can rely on and is a solid choice for any line up I use around battle rating 4.0 and 5.0. In today’s video I’ve got some games in the StuG III G and 8.8cm Flak 37 Selbstfahrlafette auf 18 ton Zugkraftwagen... Enjoy!

keep in mind, shells can have varying velocities so you have to account for that when changing shells. That's what happens at 7:24. when the Mil-Dots increase in distance, the rounds will drop faster as that rounds velocity is lower and vice versa. hope this helps!

Yeah a complete oversight from me when I was playing. I very rarely took more than one type of shell into games until recently and then failed to remember that the have different velocities 🤣 lesson learned!

that shell velocity is why i don't use most STUGs as its base is that HEAT that cooks me in battle. so glad when i got the APHE for one of the STUG types and i could actually kill things.

I’ve been watching the last few of your vids and I’m genuinely impressed at how well you play when I saw your account level. I wouldn’t expect you to know to carry heat for spaa much less to pay attention to the map. Good shit bro I love the editing aswell.

1:55, using the 88mm Flak in an actual AA role and even getting a kill on a plane, what a madman. Honestly quite impressive, even I can't do that reliably, and I have put over 3k hours into this game llmao. Well done!

I remember that before they added the adjustable fuze to it I once managed to ping a b17 with it at like 2.5 km during a night match. I'm still salty that Gaijin didn't put it in their highlights.

The first plane kill with the 88 was an f4u, most of my other plane kills are pe8s and Lancasters that fly too high

7:50 After your first shot you went from APCBC to HEAT, which has a much lower muzzle velocity and therefore hit the ground.

• Driving on open field • Doesn't check corners • Lack of teamwork with the other stug(didn't even protect each other's flank) • Turning your front against the enemy spawn in a casemate(especially if you're the spearhead of the push) • Going back to the open field which your teammates haven't secured yet 1:14 • but who cares, go play it however you want

The only point I have issue with is “lack of teamwork with the other stug”…that was his lack of awareness that almost killed us 😂 everything else is absolutely bang on

Going to be honest, don't ever bother taking the heat shells, the APHE round will be all you need in the Stug III G

Lovely improvement from the blowing up in the M24 Chaffee, but thats in a whole diferent lineup and with varying armour levels. one thing to note is that the 3 G's armour above the drivers and "machinegunner"s window is less protected than the whole front. Just to keep in mind when dealing with heavier KV1, T-34 '41 variants and taller M4s. Great job on the content, mate

8:50 , round ricochet of the ground then hit the M24, so probably shell has lost significant velocity and it didn't go through m24

501: that right there is a ARL-44 a Frnech heavy tank, surprisingly enough your first shot at it was the best way to kill it as it always has ammo in the turret, it's basically a low-tier french tiger, ones it angles it's near damn impossible to kill it without a large-calibre gun

Just watched a few of your vids, some of the common things I have seen you struggle with, (Sherman vids, with the stock shell and even the APHE) is patience and getting a decent angle. If you ever need help or something, I just got my gf up to 6.0 france lmao, she's having the same issues.

also the tank you meet at 4:55 is the ARL 44 with the 75mm acl 1 ,it has really weak side armor (50mm) ,if facing headon its best to shoot LFP or the cheeks

can you try the american M15 CGMC, you get a full auto 37mm and 2x 12.7mm MGs at 1.7

i would recommend binding a key to turn off the engine if you hold corners with any tank. It might not do much in low tiers where players usually don't listen to their surroundings but it becomes more helpful the higher up br's you go

You should try make a 2.7 line up on USSR T-50, SU-122 is a deadly combo. Also your my new favourite war thunder content creator now

@@GibbyGav heavy tanks or medium tanks. Even though the meta favours light tanks i believe. 6.7 americans are fun. Also the low tier shermans are great fun. The german panzer IV f2 is also great.

The curse of German tanks is you have to play with German teamates 😂 but if you like the stugs im sure you will enjoy the panzer IV/70 with a panther gun. Also remember that different rounds have different velocities to account for, keep it up m8!

From 5:46 onward where you fought against 2 AA's, you should've loaded HEAT so they get oneshot no matter where you hit them. When you're shooting APHE against unarmored targets it doesn't explode and just passes through dealing minimal damage.

2:20 This is just really annoying when it happens, when you think you can penetrate the tanks side with a *tank destroyer* but in the end you do absolutely nothing. You should've just went fowards so you would have a better shot, because the KV-2 has a 40 second reload. Anyways, amazing flank by the way but unfortunate ending.
