She burst onto the scene with her unforgettable performance in "12 Years a Slave." Ellen met the talented actress and fashion sensation to discuss their upcoming date: the Oscars!
***** Ohhh.. I get it now. You're trolling aka looking for attention. Pardon the previous diatribe. I actually thought I was conversing with someone that at least had their own way of looking at things... no matter how misguided. Nope... just another internet troll. Anyway, troll on.
Lupita is flawless!! She is the epitome of a classy well educated woman. I don't believe in celebrities automatically being labeled as role models BUT if young girls are going to look up to anyone that is a celebrity she would be it. She's so beautiful inside and out. And her fashion sense is EVERYTHING! Whoever is styling her needs to win an award!
Wow, Lupita holds herself high and respectful, yet has a smile the entire time. This is beauty, as there's no other real definition, except for confidence and pleasure simultaneously.
I think many people would agree that sexy and beautiful go hand-in-hand. Someone can be sexy and still be respect and not ALL sexual recognition is derogatory. Shoot, people have been calling Lupita sexy BECAUSE of her poise and attitude. So i think, once again, she deserves that award because she highlights a hidden side of beauty and sexiness. Kinda opens up your mind.
If you've got it, flaunt it. I absolutely agree with you that beauty does comes from within but, I think beauty shines better once you are comfortable and brave enough to exert that with no limitations. When people see Lupita Nyong'o elevated as Most Sexiest Woman Alive, they will want to find out who she is and they'll see her for her personality on TV Shows and Mags etc. It is also sad that many black girls and boys around the world are taught that their dark skin is somehow ugly but Lupita challenges that with WHO SHE IS; Persuading people to accept their nature and to me that is definitely deserving of recognition despite whatever weird things a few people might think. Her positive influence definitely outshines negative outcomes from a few.
It's my personal belief that while vision is good, sometimes people allow their site to make decisions their hearts and heads should make. Every single person, despite race, should be considered by the individual's actions. After all, if we judged on color alone Hitler, Pasha, Hussein, Robespierre, Khomeini, Hirohito, Zedong, Dracula, and many others. Someone like Lupita is the key to abolition of these types of travesties -- not because she is darker toned, but because her mind (inundated with red blood cells, as is common in humans) works exponentially higher-level thinking than the majority bothers to pay mind to. Lupita is an extraordinary human being (stop)
she is one of the strongest, most talented, most well-spoken young actresses of our generation. and the things i would do to have her flawless complexion....smh
***** yeah right but she really did a amazing touching work in that movie tho and she deserved an award. Its not her vault that people voted for her not for DiCaprio, even tho i do think he deserved that award the most, but it's not lupitas problem. And what does feminism has to do with all that?
***** I don't get that white black and feminist shit. If she did a great job then she deserved it whether she is black or from any movement thats not what people voted for
Ellen : is it true that in Africa you see animals roaming in the streets all over? Lupita : depends on how much you've been drinking throughout the day !
IMHO Skin tone is irrelevant to beauty. If anything it's the young, healthy skin texture that makes one attractive. Even more importantly, regular facial features and right body proportions do the thing
Henru JR Kemet, what is your cultural background? Where I live you don't throw words like 'bitch' randomly at people just to indroduce a differing view. I stand by my statement. If skin color was what makes people beautiful then Whoopi Goldberg is Miss World except she isn't. Lupita is pretty because of her healthy, young looks with good body proportions, delicate facial features and adorable smile.
Fatima Siad Aw! It's not your fault if your vocabulary is on another level. English is so full of these long, beautiful, efficacious words and it makes me sad that our generation doesn't use them enough. I say carry on with the big words, my dear!
Having an opinion is not racism. I have every right to hold my own standards of beauty..I have every right to have opinions of the most beautiful foods, flowers, automobiles. or people. I just do not find dark skin attractive. Perhaps you are the racist, wanting everybody to like what you like, and favor the same appearances you favor or have. Your silly political correctness is going out of vogue as we write. People will think what they want, like what they like, and vote for who we want. That is why voters flock to Trump, who said political correctness is just so much garbage.
Wow! This woman is the definition of a true Afrucan beauty OMG! Everyone has commented it but i guess i must too lol HER SKIN IS FLAWLESS... SUCH AN AMAZING GLOW AND RICH TONE😍 PLUS A GREAT SMILE .... wish her all the luck and much more success... definitely a gem😊
I've Never Felt So Beautiful. Im A Dark Female 11 Years Old This Woman Has The EXACT Skin Tone As I Do No Joke We Have The Same Tone But I Always Hated My Color I Mean It When I Say This Im Very Stunning For A Black Girl But I've Always Hated My Skin I Thought Lighter Was Better Cause At School There Are Two Stunning Light Skin Girls Trust Me They Are Absolute Beauties So They Made Me Feel So Ugly In My Mind I Thought Can I Be Beautiful In My Skin? I Tried So Hard To Change Myself I Even Cut My Bangs Just To Look Like Them And I Have Hair Past Shoulder Length. After Watching This I Feel So Beautiful Now I Know That My Skin Is Pretty And That Beauty Comes Within Thank You For Opening My Eyes To Realizing My Own Beauty I Will Be Forever Grateful :)
You are right beauty does come from within and when you learn to appreciate, accept and love who you are that's when you can truly be happy. Happy and also confident so I hope when you refer to yourself as "stunning", a statement which I find sounded quite vain Tbh, that you mean this because you have realised there is more to beauty than looks. That being said as a black woman myself I can relate to the hardship and insecurity that being black can bring so its enlightening to see young black girls are accepting and rejoicing in who they are
Stunning: Nice white teeth, shiny skin, shapely legs. I hope that this shatters the myth that dark skinned Blacks are not as pretty as light skinned Blacks.
Yessir432 Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good. I thought that Naomi Campbell would have paved the way for dark skinned women. From the 70's there was Pam Grier.
Wow! This girl is honestly beautiful. Charming personality too. I am happy to see such global recognition for natural beauty. Almost unbelievable that the world can see it. There are very many naturally beautiful girls in Africa. They just don't make it to the world scene. Thanks for the post TheEllenshow
She is honestly my first girl celebrity crush. Just look at her! So classy and magnificent in the way she dress, articulate, and present herself. Eagerly looking forward to her next projects.
I don't care if she actually wins or not at the oscars. I just want to her to appear in many more high profile movies. We need more diverse representation.
Beautiful woman.. her confidence and self respect equals the beauty of her complexion and pretty accent... And the beauty of her voice is beyond words... such complete natural charm
