I don't think he would have caught pecco, pecco had extra pace he was deliberately slowing down to cool tyres now and then, Rossi advice to pecco was that if you have extra pace don't use it all, take the lead and go slower..

You can even see in a slomo replay that mid apex he even leans more tightening the line and hugging the turn even more. Insane riding and skill.

Pecco was just managing the race.. He didn't have to push, and if required he would've pushed

Yeah no...he was absolutely trying, Enea was just faster and better. That pass was excellence and unlike Martin who knocked him down the previous race, Enea just used pure skill, form and the motorcycle to pass, so please stop trying to make it seem like it was luck, it was not.

Jorge said that after seeing 0.8 on the board at the beginning of the last lap he did not think Enea has a chance to catch him and did not defend that last corner. But I really doubt he didn't hear Enea being on his ass in the last sector. It's just that riders don't like admitting when they were outraced.

Lets see. I was thinking the same but some riders say the opposite and that even with the smaller engines the less tech means it will head back towards the rider is more important again. We shall see.

@@dealwolfstriked272 So if you've been watching MotoGP since the two stroke 500cc days, the rider mattered so much. Rossi came from that era but even he admitted, that the reason he wasn't competitive with modern bikes was the tire technology and electronics. Rossi and Stoner rode GP bikes like dirt bikes, hence Rossi being the original leg dangler when braking.... But look at the lean angles, the aero, the tire technology, electronics...the amount of buttons on the bars. Look at Martin dragging a shoulder literally, you could never do that on a 500 two stroke or even a WSBK. These racers are the apex of racing on two wheels because they use all the tech to go faster and the racing has never been so competitive as these present times. The bikes will be slower, aero less effective, and passes like we saw with Enea will not be possible anymore. Want proof, well look at WSBK and how they race compared to lean angles, speed and rider ability compared to MotoGP.

Marc hasn't ridden this well in such a long time. When I learned he was going to be on a Ducati, I KNEW he was going to ride so much better with that Ducati power! I have not been disappointed, so far!!
