Another inspiring video. I never thought of your body being the instrument. Brilliant! I've struggled for years building range always thinking of it as a battle of physicality with the instrument. I am not a high note guy but would love to expand my range at least to high G above high C, with control. I admire trumpeters like James Morrison, Allen Vizzutti and Arturo Sandoval, who seem to have excellent control in the upper register. Not just screechers. I may never get there but am not giving up. Maybe it's time for a new routine in 2024. That sounds like a great New Year resolution!
Hello Ol' Son. Have been a sub' for some time. Came across you by accident. Have to say that you are a very wise geezer & know the horn inside & out!! Made a reasonable living within various styles. Have to say you're content is 100% Spot on.
PS. Range-wise took me quite some time (trial & error) to accurately play with a reasonably broad sound up there. Smashin' content. All best to You and all Yours for 2024.
