It's interesting how Retsuko's mother was right about the whole Shirota situation - she warned Retsuko she can't treat men like sushi on a conveyor belt when Retsuko nitpicked reasons not to see him again because she was scared of commitment, but then when she was feeling lonely she asked about him again and her mother told her he'd already moved on to another girl. It's like Retsuko doesn't think of her love interests as being people with differing goals and opinions to hers until it's too late, she just wants a boyfriend to fill a void in her life.

Basically in Retsuko's eyes: Resasuke : The airhead boyfriend Mr. Shirota : The one that got away Tadano : The ideal boyfriend but doesn't have the same goals as you. Haida : The guy next door who likes you but you don't like them back :')

After Haida, I liked the polar bear the most

1:24 Shirota looks like that person in High School/College that on the surface looks he lifts & likes manly things but in reality is nicest person no matter who you are probably knits or sews

The majority of Retsuko’s love interests have been really chill, but Haida has enough nervous energy to match Retsuko’s inner intensity

I feel bad for Resasuke and Retsuko because the only reason they didn’t work out was because of him taking his friend’s advice too much. They were getting along fine before he began acting all “manly” and ignoring her.

I am still hoping we get to see more of Resasuke and Manumaru at some point. I loved their bro cat and clueless boy dynamic and we haven't seen them since the cameo in the christmas special. Though Tadano also has a special place in my heart.

The fact that out of all these guys she was only ever able to truly be herself and speak her mind when she was with Haida. It was nice to see them all side by side and realise that. Plus Haida tops all of them because he both literally/figuratively saved her life! (but ngl tadano was pretty cute close 2nd if it wasn't for his whole no commitment to marriage and communism thingy he had going on)

Resasuke was a good guy, he was just obviously neurodivergent and bad at picking up on Retsuko's nonverbal cues. I'm so sad that most of the fandom has either completely forgotten about him, or in the case of figureheads like Mother's Basement, recklessly accuse him of being an asshole. When Retsuko was more obviously in need at the party, he went out of his way to clean her up and make sure she got home safe! He definitely cared about her, just not in the VERY specific way that Retsuko was hoping for. I hope that as Retsuko matures as a person, she can reconnect with Resasuke bc I think they would be very good friends! Ik it's not gonna happen because this show likes to shoot itself in the foot by obsessing over the 'Will They/Won't They' with Haida (the least interesting bachelor imo), but one can dream 😔

I don't care if everybody prefer Haida, for me the best ship was Retsuko x Tadano 💕. Yes, I konw they don't share the same dreams, but i'm still blsming the script. In my opinion they were perfect together.

I love Tadano and thought they were a good match, however I will not ignore that dude lived in a limo... we've never even seen it hinted at that dude has house. He's not about the societal pressure of marriage and having a job but wears a suit to press conferences and has a limo/house to keep up appearances.

I hate how the series keeps pushing Haida. The dynamic between him and Retsuko isn't good. He's an enjoyable character on his own right but his arc would be way better if he moved on and had to deal with his actions.

I'd think it would be a funny plot twist if the hot unicorn guy actually became real and she wound up with him. Not like some sci fi thing of coming to life out the game but she literally meets him while either at karaoke or as a new employee at the office.

My opinion is that the best option for Retsuko is Tadano and then Shirota. Like others think, they should show how Haida can overcome Retsuko and find someone else (maybe Fenneko, I suspect she has feelings for him)

I love how this anime describes all relationships that Retsuko has!!! Basically they all look so real that we may all experienced before!!! The storyline of Aggretsuko is really amazing!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to Season 5,6,7,8,9 and more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope she doesn’t get with Haida. Haida deserves someone who actually wants to be with somebody for the right reasons and isn’t so manipulative and exploitative. Retsuko is not exactly cruel, but she has strong disregard for the feelings and wellbeing of her partners.

I can't help but laugh a little at Retusko's silent horror around Tadano.

Retsuko just might like being a single person. She's living in a world where females are expected to get married. She's not going to be happy as a married woman. She has issues that she needs help with.

It's pretty obvious writers meant her to be with Haida at this point. For now, at least. And the way how problematic both of them are is a plot device designed to generate an infinite number of relationship problems they'll need to overcome. Ironically, they also suit each other the most I think. Retsuko is actually quite energetic and assertive, takes an active role in everything she does even though reluctantly at first. And Haida likes her for that, doesn't need her to fit into a certain mold to be with him, and he has pretty much the same energy (punk rock answer to her death metal), his insecurities are things that are holding him back. It is uncertain if she likes him back the same way he likes her, but she surely cares about him greatly, being the one to call him out on his bullshit.

I love Haida and I hope he and Retsuko get together, but honestly he did come off as a selfish guy in the later seasons. But to be fair Retsuko's other boyfriends came off as very single-toned, so maybe they're setting us up to view Haida as a more "real" and flawed boyfriend? Idk.
