This whole movie was just history in the making.

Charles wasn't just the original Mario, he was Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi. Also, in this movie, he played their dad too, not just that guy at the pizza place.

Jack Black killed it as Bowser even if you didnt know who voiced Bowser ahead of time that Peaches song would give it away immediately 😂

I seriously LOVED what they did with Dry Bones in this movie. They showed them in the best way and set up how they exist.

Cranky Kong is Donkey Kong's Grandfather. He is the original Donkey Kong from the very old Jump Man games. Then the Sequal, Jump Man 2, featured his son Donkey Kong Jr. And then in Donkey Kong Country we play Cranky Kong's Grandson, Donkey Kong, and that Cranky changed his name, most likely cause he's old now. So Technically "Donkey Kong", the one we know from Donkey Kong Country onwards, is technically "Donkey Kong The 3rd." I think the Movie calling him Cranky's "Son" is the only lore mistake in the entire movie. Everything else was very on point to Mario Lore. As for the Big Fish, I don't specifically know that one, but I think it's meant to be the Big Fish we see in Super Mario World, in the levels that have water on the bottom, and there's a big fish that follows you around and tries to swallow you. Might be a Reference to that. The only other thing I can think of, is one of the Massive Eels we see in one of Super Mario 64 underwater levels. We Rarely get to explore underwater lore, so we don't see a lot of underwater creatures, especially no massive whale like ones.

That wasn't DK Jr. with Diddy & Dixie, that was Chunky Kong from DK 64. The one from DK Country 3 is Kiddy Kong & he or she wears a onesie pyjamas. They say that Cranky is the actual DK from the arcade & DK is actual Jr., but adult. I don't know If that one is true or not. On their first plumbing job theirs a painting of the Duck Hunt Dog & when Mario returns to Brooklyn there's a store that has the Balloon Fight Guy.

Ok so the reason why I truly enjoyed this reaction is that when I went to the theater I went with my lil sis and my mom, and I was just like the dad pointing out every reference I could find and sharing trivia, even predicted was going to appear or happen basing myself on the games, so you could imagine how hype I was with the tail grab on Bowser😅

The "shy guy" with the black mask is a Sniffit. From Mario Bros 2. They shoot ya. I crack up at what happened to the Koopa Troopa when he asked Bowser, "But what if she says 'no'?" He gets fried and turned into a Dry Bones. Seems like an upgrade if you ask me. The blue mushroom was a Micro Mushroom from "New Super Mario Bros". What a bad one to eat at such a time. Lol!

Is this, like, a family reaction channel? It's a neat idea, and it's also neat to see an actual kid/teen's reaction to a movie like this. I also like the counter you had for every reference you caught. This movie is full of references, so many that it's nearly impossible to catch them all on your first watch! (Props to you for recognizing Foreman Spike from Wrecking Crew, too!) I will say, though, I don't mean to come of as the "well, actually" guy since I know how annoying that cane be to deal with, but technically the bats seen in the Darklands are from Super Mario Galaxy, as opposed to the "Swoop/Swooper" enemies seen in Super Mario World, not to mention the Kong along with Diddy and Dixie is Chunky Kong from Donkey Kong 64 as opposed to Donkey Kong Jr., and Bowser's wedding hat was from Super Mario Odyssey, not Super Mario 3D World. Also, aside from Ludwig Von Koopa's name being on Bowser's piano, the Koopalings aren't mentioned or referenced in this movie, unfortunately. I kind of hope they show up in the sequel, along with Bowser Jr., where all 8 of them are Bowser's children coming to save their dad. ...That is, if they don't make Wario and Waluigi the bad guys of the sequel. Or Wart from Super Mario Bros. 2.

It’s actually not the Tanooki Suit, that’s the Super Leaf, which gives Mario a raccoon like appearance. The Tanooki Suit just like the Super Leaf allows Mario to fly in the air, although it looks more like a bear instead of a raccoon, and allows Mario to turn into stone. Also as long as he’s a stone statue like figure, he’s impervious to enemies and their attacks. Unfortunately the caveat is that Mario can’t move at all while he’s in that stone statue-like state. So it’s a double edged sword. Also another fun fact, he holds a staff in his hand while he’s turned into stone.

Charles Martinet also voiced Mario and Luigi's dad in this movie. So he's got twice the cameos.

From the Mario world Is easy to do DK Country, Yoshis Island, Luigis Mansion and later Wario But for a Smash Bros movie I would love to get movies for Pokemon, Zelda, Star Fox, Metroid and of course Kirby Maybe put Mother and F Zero at the end credits 😮

This was fun but the panic attack over imagined "socialism" in the Toad economy was very strange

I think 3 years for the next movie is honestly a little bit optimistic. =P This movie took over 6 years to make. But maybe now that they've established the art style and character designs and they have some assets that they can recycle, a second movie wouldn't take quite as long.

Bowser only has one child and that’s bowser jr , the others are just minions, I know for the longest time everyone thought they was all his kids but the creator came out saying he only has one child and that’s bowser jr , he just won’t tell us who jr’s mother is 😂 But in the 3DS bowser‘s inside story and Junior’s Journey they all call him lord jr and they are the only ones bowser trust to care for jr when he was away
