Miyamoto: Remember that first Mario movie from 30 years ago. Film Producer: Yes. Miyamoto: We do everything the opposite of that. Film Producer: As you wish.
@@troublemakerbros4267 Kind of funny that you'd point that out. Back in the 80s, Mario was more of a New Yorker and presented as such. So even if Hoskin's didn't do the best Brooklyn accent, going in the direction of a bad Italian accent is still the opposite of that film. Considering they went with Chris Pratt, I wondered if they would return to the New York accent, which I think he could have been better suited for. Alas, they didn't.
@@RichardHartness I'd say it's also the fact they decided against the whole "meteor separated dinosaurs from man dimensionally and dinosaurs evolved to be a close variant version of man while also harnessing evolution into technological advances including for weaponization and genetic upgrades of their kind and turning the lead villain from a shelled reptilian creature to Dennis Hopper dressed in a business suit as the ruling despot of said alternate dimension" story angle that sets this version apart from the 90s movie.
This looks amazing!!! Super Mario on NES was my childhood, I was 5 when my adventures started. I'm 38 now and I'm glad I waited this long. The way they can make movies nowadays is so much more advanced, than even 10 years ago. So I believe it was worth the wait. And I am thoroughly excited!
This Mario trailer was definitely incredible!! So many new stuff! Super hyped for this and Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood!! The Mario Kart and Rainbow Road scene is going to be awesome!! Peach's voice sounds really good! I knew were going to see Yoshi's!!

DK slapping Chris Pratt around is the best part as that's me to Illumination THIS IS WHY "THE" VOICE OF MARIO SHOULD BE THE "ONLY" VOICE OF MARIO EVER - BUT NO, YOU HAVE HIM DOING "CAMEOS"
Im quite impressed despite the mario voice (lazy). But I wonder how long this movie is going to be, it looks like there is going to be a lot. I hope they manage the pacing well.
@@KoongYe Super Princess Peach. She had to save Mario. Great game ngl. At least she does something in the movie, not like in the games where she gets kidnapped 24/7
I absolutely love Mario! I have been a huge fan of the video games since I was really young! I also like how all the characters look for this movie they look so realistic!! I’m looking forward to this movie and will definitely see it when it first comes out!!
@Culture Cope This is exactly what they went for. That's why she is in front with the battle axe, while Mario spent the entire trailer getting attacked. Men are being treated like a joke in every capacity. If it carries on, we won't have a voice. We have to stand up now.
@@kh7688its a movie for kids dude, it's not that deep. Mario is quite literally a goddamn plumber thrown into some fantasy world of course he's gonna be clumsy. Keep your whole agenda to yourself lol.
@@limitedhangoutlive Why the fuck are you comparing a random plumber (assuming this movie will cover Mario's origins as a hero) with a magical monarch of a faraway kingdom? This whole rethoric is just an excuse to justify misogyny
@@kh7688 Which is surprising to me considering Pratt doesn't play that nonsense and Nintendo is notoriously attacked on Twitter for never getting involved in politics. But, that's what they get for using some Western company to make their video game movie. As an Italian, it was bad enough the perception is that we're plumbers despite the fact we built this country, now after Luca was such a great film, they're going to make us some stupid "dur dur huwhite male" as opposed to the usual gangster, all in the name of woke tropes that consistently broadly fail to the point where even Disney is back peddling.
The movie looks GREAT! Jack Black and Charlie Day are doing amazing in their characters, Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy sound exactly how they do in every interview, they didn't even put an effort to create a unique voice fitting for Mario and Peach, i don't see the necessity to use "star power" in this movie to sell more, they should have hired professional voice actors. Also "illumination" are really exceeding themselves with the animation!
Mario: POWER STAR PLATINUM! THE LEVEL! *time stops*' Daisy: How'd ya learn that move? Mario: Bowser really pissed me off. Power Star Platinum: Oraoraoraoraoraora... ORA!
How I rate each character voice: Mario: Very lazy in making the iconic accent Luigi: This one is OK, just wanted to be diferent that Charlie Day's actual voice Peach: Her voice in the games is much better, beacause she sounds more like a grown woman Toad: This one is ok has well, just wanted to be more high pintched Bowser: Best voice of the movie

so to be clear only person doing legit voice acting is jack black? no one wanted to even learn about how to do it when they got the part not even asking jack? just got the script sat in their closet (guessing during more serious COVID times) and just read however and the director signed off on it? I'm sorry but apparently referencing every Mario game in the movie will no make up for this
People think Mario’s “masculinity” is being challenged, because of the scenes where he looks dumb and makes mistakes. Nope, that’s shade against the gamer. For years, Mario only did as controlled…by you. And he died time after time, as you made mistakes and got the hang of new worlds. Mario is only as perfect as the one holding the controller. Which is, rarely.

Pokemon was warner bros and sonic was paramount and both were brilliant. No one ever dares bring those names into the same sentence as illumination again
The difference is that NINTENDO is on it. Nintendo and Miyamoto always work for perfection (if we let that 90s mario movie out of the picture), they rarely dissapoint and have hight standars of quality for his biggest franchises such as mario and zelda, and if this movie succed in box office and in public reception i bet you that we´ll soon be getting a zelda movie.

Jack black voicing bowser is so fitting in this trailer, kenny james takes the spot as the real bowser for me, but i really think that jack black will steal the show for this one... And also that wahoo seems kinda sad, why?

I dont understand the heavy criticism, Chris Pratt sounds fine as Mario, it's a light Brooklyn accent because as people said if he had the heavy Italian the entire movie it would get annoying, a lighter accent fits better and since this is an origin story he uses his Brooklyn accent rather an Italian one. Charlie day as Luigi sounds fine and we still haven't head his voice alot. One scene with him using a scruffy and strained voice with lower emotion and more sarcasm doesnt really justify judgement. Peach sounds fine and more fitting of a leaders voice instead of a helpless princess, again the lack of a heavy accent is fine as the accent wouldny fit the lower tone of voice, as we always hear peach with a high pitched voice. People are making too heavy of a comparison to the game's, try to start comparing more to the TV show, then things will start fitting better
I am very…concerned? Yeah, concerned is the right word. I feel like this movie seems intent on following the path many hollywood movies are going these days, that being making the male counterparts look like bumbling idiots who only get anything done by sheer dumb luck. While the female character get propped up as more serious, dependable and capable. I get that the movie is meant to be about having fun and being primarily a comedy, but I’m kinda getting this vibes so far. The main thing that gets me thinking this is that mario seems like a real fool and Luigi is the one that’s been kidnapped instead of Peach. It’s just really odd, I think.
Are you gonna acknowledge the fact this is an origin story, peach is much more familiar with this world and therefore seems more capable, whereas Mario and Luigi are basic plumbers with no experience in the wild let alone an entirely different world, so of course they both have dumb luck, but we even see Mario training in the trailer so it's not all luck.
It's because Peach is from the Mushroom Kingdom, she's poised and knows her way around. Mario and Luigi are newcomers and Mario is going to have a whole arc to get to be the jumping god we know. Starting the character off as an uncoordinated dunce is exactly how everybody starts off when they play their first Mario game. Mario has to learn how to be Mario.
@@undefined6478 Ngl, you do have a point. Mario and Luigi are the inferior ones meanwhile peach is the strong one. Personally, I would change the fact that Luigi is kidnapped instead of Peach, and make Mario more capable.
@@undefined6478 I fully acknowledge that and I am aware of the context. My point is that this sort of deal has become a trend among Hollywood these days to push the showing of the "incompetent male character" and the "Superior, competent female character". And this trend has always been at the expense of the movie itself. Of course, these are just my concerns given the quality of movies put out these last few years. I'd just like to see Mario with actual competence without the context of him being a bumbling idiot. He's always been shown as a colorful hero in the past.
@@lukeshioshio You know what, that's a fair point. I guess I'd just like things to lean into showing a bit more that Mario is actually capable, instead of just a dunce that happened to make things work out. He should really come off as more of "This is the hero of the Mushrooms Kingdom", instead of "Uh...I think he can do it." But again, the context of this being more comedy focused and a fun ride is not lost on me. I'm not looking for Batman, just competence.
I'm a 41-year-old woman--is it odd that I'm actually excited to see this? Will I have to drag one of my nephews or nieces with me so it seems less weird I'm actually there for myself?
Honestly, I do find myself in the camp of people that think that the actual Mario voice would get annoying. It works for "It's-a-me" and "wahoo" and the occasionaly outburst of some small line, but there is a reason that Mario has never had a bunch of lines. I feel it'd be a bit unbearable in the long term, compared to Chris Pratt normal dude voice.
@@rmunoz1994 I'm not saying that. It's just that people are acting like they want the original voice or nothing, not just the original voice actor. If he didn't do the typical high pitch voice, people would probably find some way to be bitching about it in these trailers, is all I am saying.
Why is hte main character speaking without either a Brooklyn accent or an Italian-American accent? Furthermore, why does Hollywood keep doing this crap to beloved franchises?
Honestly, as a bastardization of the voices. Charlie Day as Luigi is the """"best""" of the bunch. I understand why people dislike Luigi, but I think it fits the best under these circumstances
Can't wait.... for the day when they will stop to give the "movie music" treatment to all our beloved classics, and cease to give cliché personalities to characters that shouldn't have them.
Not liking the voice of Mario or Luigi. Should have been Italian af like its supposed to. That wahoo at the end sounded like crap. I hope I'm not alone in thinking this.
So... can already tell that princess is going to be 100x better at everything than Mario as Hollywood's de-masculinity campaign continues, but it still looks pretty great.
I really really really wish some or even many of Mario and his friends' adventures were pure dramatic, serious, and awesome comparable to some or many of Sonic the Hedgehog's own adventures. The movie will be very exciting and interesting I believe, yes and sorry, but thinking about The Super Mario Bros. Movie also makes think about my desperate wishes for Mario and his friends' adventures. I will apologize for posting this kind of comment if anyone are against my wishes. Good to know if no one does is against my wishes.
Ngl Charlie day seems to be the only one somewhat good for this cast, however bowser is perfect Toad is also fine but I have no damn clue who’s playing him, Peach sounds too much like… an average American woman and not high royalty, And we already know what the consensus is on Chris Pratt, however It don’t think he should have the OG Mario voice, I wonder if it’s cause they don’t want anyone to do an accent cause it might be offensive though
