@@balls8204 They are but there are some breakthroughs that occurred without intent. Penicillin for example. The professor was working on understanding and treating bacterial infections, which were much more lethal in his time period. He accidentally left a petri dish out while on holiday and came back to a mold that developed a compound that was killing the bacteria culture.
Same here, to be more precise my parents had me when they were in Uni, didn't have to sacrifice anything though I was raised by my grandmother while they finished their education, they only had two years left.
Fun fact: Canonically the giant monsters come to the city to draw the atention of the PPGs and survive an attack of the three to return to Monster Island as champions. So no girls means no monsters
There’s a couple lessons there, most notably being that children are never mistakes. Sure, you didn’t mean to have them when you did, but their existence is beautiful and should be cherished because they were always meant to be there. The other one is that not all mistakes are terrible. Sometimes things happen on accident and turn out to be wonderful in the end

I’m a scientist and I love that the professor is always so positive no matter how many times he fails. In my scientific career, I cannot stress how 95% of my endeavours end in failure but we keep trying and we keep going because we challenge the unknown and it’s for the betterment of humanity. And that will always be a worthwhile cause that we can feel positive about. The Professor is a great embodiment of that everlasting principle.
Fun fact: The Run of the Mill Girls from Professor Utonium’s Dream were actually alternate designs Craig McCracken briefly considered for the Powerpuff Girls since he noticed negative reactions from a test audience over how the girls looked in the short films for What A Cartoon.
