First thing and foremost, I'm so glad that you are all safe. However, there are things that you might consider in the future. This is a personal advice coming from me. Remember typhoon Odette may have exited the country but it doesn't mean that there will be no more typhoons of the same magnitude and power will come. There will be more to come because of climate change and this is inevitable. I suggest that you will need to do some preparations in advance to reduce property damages and save more lives. When I look at your surroundings, I have seen some tall coconut trees, you need to cut them down as these trees may fall and wreak you house. You have to maintain a safe distance of around 50-100 meters from your house to the trees. You also need to retrofit your house. Maybe, your thinking is that "because your house has withstand the typhoon then it can still do next time". On the contrary, dwellings become weak over time. Adding strong materials will make your house more resistant from strong winds. Now, with regards to your friend, please advise her and her family not to rebuild their house in that same area. They must be relocated somewhere safe, somewhere that is elevated and far from the river. It will be useless to build/rebuild their house (in the same area) and afterwards being destroyed again by a strong typhoon. Economicwise, it is impractical. The least that you can do as a friend is to offer a portion of your lot to them. Also, I love to donate cash for your friend but it was so unfortunate that I already donated a big part of my savings to the NGO.

May God bless you and your Family on Bohol. My late wife's daughter and her 8 children lives in the house that we built in Carcar, and they all survived typhoon Odette, along with our house too. I was watching the typhoon's development and track across central Visayas, including Bohol and Cebu, from my home in Southern Illinois, but i lost contact with my late wife's family after they lost power and internet due to the typhoon. I believe that is was at least a week before any of them were able to contact me to let me know that everyone was ok, but not knowing anything was worse that knowing, in that situation. In 2004 my late wife and I, along with her family, drove our van over to Bohol by ferry from Argao, Cebu, and we enjoyed the sights, like the chocolate hills, and the people of Bohol too, and we stayed on Panglao island. Anyway, i am a new subscriber to your channel, and your videos showing your life in the "countryside" are very refreshing and entertaining, so keep them coming. My only suggestion for your channel, is to speak more English, so that we ignorant Americans will understand what you are saying. I visited Cebu every year from 1999 thru 2019, and since my late wife was always my interpreter, i never had to learn Bisaya, or is it Cebuano. I am enjoying your videos, even if i do not understand "Boholano". Amping (*_*)

we were in loboc just a month before the terrible earthquake. we really loved the town and the whole island. We stayed at the loboc river resort. very charming place. I know it took them a couple of years to get back on their feet. now another tremendous challenge. no word from our family and friends yet. take care.

Same with us sis. Typhoon Yolanda, kaya nga noong nabalitaan namin ang possibility na dadaanan na naman s sa amin si Odette todo pray na kmi. December 15 or 16 yata signal #2 nakamk. Kasi nakakatrauma na talaga yun, ang sakit² tignan ang daming namatay halos nagkanda utang² yung ibang kakilala namin, nasira business nila, nagclosed kasi nagkautang sa mga kabaung para sa mga trbahante nila. November 8 tumama si Yolanda, December 24 nagkailaw pero ang signal , January na bumalik. May pakabit2 pa kami sa bintana makasagap ng signal. Halos nasa 5 months bago nakabalik sa dati.Kabay lang nga makabangon na kamo, Stay strong sainyo tanan. Godbless! Praying.

Bohol ang unang naigo ug kabalo ko nga mas grabe ang damage diha kumpara ngari sa Cebu pero ang atong nasinatian kay dili jud lalim. Grabe ang kabalaka ug kago-ol sa among pamilya hilabi na katong ni kusog na pag-ayo ang hangin, hapit matumbahan ug dakong puno-an ang balay sa akong mama, wala jud mi pahuway ug tulog ni adtong gabhi-ona. Pagka buntag ni ana, maka hilak ka mag lantaw sa imong palibot, ni anang panahona walang-wala pud mi sa akong pamilya nya hapit na ang adlaw sa pasko.
