If he only knew how his dream is gradually becoming more and more less accessible to people and becoming more of a luxury all by corporate people, I feel like he wouldn't want to make costs so high for his parks. Walt Disney, such an amazing and creative mind of this world

I wonder what Walt would say if he saw DisneyLand/ and World today? His vision is rather different from what we have now. But overall his spirit is still in the modern day works in the parks in my opinion

I'd say Walt's ultimate hope for Disneyland was that it wouldn't stay the same, that it would always be evolving, never finished. That Disneyland would stay relevant by staying one step ahead in creativity, technology, and originality. I think that's happening. I think Walt would be proud.

He'd be disappointed that the Disney family no longer has control of the company. His living family now only owns 3% of the whole company which is nothing.

This was an incredibly well put-together video. Walt Disney was one of the most influential and most talented people of the 20th century. He created something that changed the world for the better. I myself went to Disney World down in Florida, and I still wonder how one man could've done all of that. It's amazing. Mr. Walt Disney is surely missed even today, and I wonder what things would've been like had he not passed on so soon and so unexpectedly. Rest in peace, Mr. Disney. Your legacy lives on for the future to come.

When he said, "It was all started with a mouse.", he is likely referring to himself because any life long Disney lover knows Walt was Mickey, and Mickey was Walt simultaneously. I love you Walt Disney!!! xoxoxo

Sad thing is, Disneyland and WDW are out of mine and many other's price range. I don't believe he believed in charging people deep into debt.

No, Walt didn't. He wanted his parks to be reasonable, so anybody could attend it. These jerks who have taken over don't care how much they are gouging the public! If Walt was here today, he would fire them!

It saddens me so much, to see what management at Disney is doing to Walt’s Legacy. For almost a decade here in Florida my family was Florida annual passholders… but that was then, and now it’s quite different. Prices have gone so high at Disney World, that we can’t afford to go anymore. I don’t think Walt Disney would be very happy about that. And we’re not alone, thousands and thousands of people throughout America, middle America, hard-working families, like mine, can’t afford to go there anymore. Such a shame! 😟

In your opinion, do you think if Walt had managed to live, say, as long as his brother, Roy (which would’ve brought him into the late 70’s/ early 80’s) would he have managed to get a little bit closer to what he dreamed of for Epcot, or would we have ended up with, essentially, what we have now?
@HappyPlaceExplorers
@HappyPlaceExplorers 4 года назад
Walt told his son-in-law Ron Miller, he just needed 10-15 years to get Epcot off the ground. I think had he made it that long, Epcot would have absolutely happened, probably not in the same way or scale that his visionary short film depicted, but potentially pretty close. I do think though, just like reality, without Walt at the helm, Epcot was lost. When Walt died, nobody, not even Roy knew what do with it. I think the Disney company would have been in a similar situation whether the project would have been in progress or even completion. We can see how management handled Disney in the 70s/80s and I don't think EPCOT as a concept would have survived that without Walt. Heck, EPCOT as a theme park barely made it. Today, I think EPCOT Center as a whole is a worthy consolation prize for us, and I think it's mostly honoring to the basic Walt-inspired principles that EPCOT the city would have stood on.
@edvaira6891
@edvaira6891 4 года назад
Happy Place Explorers I pretty much share your opinion.. Honestly, I’d think Walt would be pretty happy with the “consolation prize” version of Epcot, especially considering how involved he was with the 1964 Worlds Fair,...to think that, for the better part of at least the first 2 decades, Epcot succeeded being a “Permanent Worlds Fair” that was light years better than the actual ones..I was quite lucky enough to attend the ones in Knoxville (WHY it was in KNOXVILLE of all places, I have NO IDEA!) and Vancouver (my dad was a Worlds Fair nut ..he met my mom at the NY Fair in 1965!) and Epcot was just the absolute BEST version of these...I really am okay with how Epcot is adapting and I think Walt would be okay with it too...Epcot’s been my favorite of the parks for the 35 plus years I’ve been visiting, and I don’t see that changing...what it is is simply Classic! And Classic DISNEY!
@HappyPlaceExplorers
@HappyPlaceExplorers 4 года назад
100 percent agree! I'm genuinely looking forward to the "new' Epcot that's on the horizon, though I really do wish I had been able to experience some of those original attractions. But if they delivered the exact same exhibits of the '39 World's at the '64 World's Fair, guests would have been dissatisfied. Epcot is getting facelifts like a regular World's Fair would. Luckily, there's enough footage of these original attractions that nostalgia buffs like me can make cheesy youtube videos about them. And now I have no choice but to believe that Carousel of Progress is directly responsible for your existence.
