I agree with that sentiment/observation 100%. Nearly all the shows I go to are in smaller venues that are specifically MUSIC venues - rooms built for live music where there is less (and sometimes no) distance between performers and the audience. Hungry, up-and-coming bands really thrive in that atmosphere. Shows are a thousand times more exciting in those clubs, theatres, ballrooms, etc. Once you get into venues specifically built for sports (basketball/hockey arenas, and worse yet, baseball/football stadiums), that connection and excitement starts to precipitously fall off.
Aww man, that's a drag you had to miss them TWICE. They clearly enjoy playing at the Tip Top (they usually come through a couple times a year), and they sound great in that room. Thanks for watching, I'll be posting a lot more from this show! :)
