Kronos Fallout cuz it's in the future? Cuz I don't see it. This may be post apocalyptic but many games are. Fallout is more about the mutations and the void of life's simple pleasures from before the bombs fell. And the lengths societies go to survive and try to live a normal life. The surge more focused on the struggle against futuristic machinery, (based on gameplay) a man who tries to uncover what has caused the fall of man, and rise of the machine.
Hello Dank Memes My Old Friend i agree, But hey at least nioh builds on the dark souls formula with its own mechanics that are reminiscent of ninja gaiden and also have ninja gaiden-esque storytelling (its the same devs so thats to be expected) The surge hasnt shown much to differentiate itself, its lords of the fallen all over again from what ive seen.
So went to check out some gameplay videos and well combat system wise it looks good. like somthing I'd enjoy. Going see what review are like and how it works in VR.
Soulslike game, but sci-fi settings. So, it's action-RPG... check out some of its gameplay, it looks really cool, don't listen to the others saying it's awful and etc. They're just HATERS, and judge a game before trying it out, or watching gameplay.
DarkEndDragon_- Gotta say that doesn't sound to enticing pretty tire of all these slow paced Dark Souls like games with stamina metered and RPG elements. What happened to all the fast paced hack and slash action games like Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry that's what we need more of not these boring Dark Souls clones. Noob came so close but the stupid stamina meter ultimately kills the game slowing the game pace to a crawl.
Totally different type of games. Technomancer was wannabe open world RPG. This is sci-fi Dark Souls. And they have experience with those, as this was the studio that created Lords of The Fallen.
As a minor bit of constructive criticism (as if a dev happened going to see this comment >.>) this looks like a professionally done game, but how I'd like to see something to grab peoples' interests beyond the raw gameplay and setting- because although it may hold up in its own right, it looks like an alternative to another popular franchise rather than its own unique thing. In my opinion - make an emotive story that will connect us to the characters and their situations like the Souls series has never done.
Paz The Eldritch Meme what dark souls had was atmosphere; a world to explore. It did not have a narrative or a plot worth following. People need to understand the difference between story and atmosphere.
Paz The Eldritch Meme you just contradicted your point with your reply. A narrative cannot be told through "item descriptions", that does not even make sense. Item descriptions lay out a world, and yes the world has a "story", but not a plot. There are differences between the two. Stop defending dark souls when there is no reason to.
I liked the sound of a Sci Fi Souls inspired game, but this just looks like people wearing junk for armour, rather than cool Sci Fi gear, I know it's still technically Sci Fi with their futuristic tech, it's just not the kind of Sci Fi I like personally
