The Swamps Of Sadness Tribute Remix 

Did anyone else think that this scene in the movie symbolized suicide? Like the process of how a person gets to that point? A person just doesn't decide one day to just kill themselves. Day by day, they slowly get to that point every time they allow just a little bit of negativity into their mind and heart. And the more they do it, the harder it is to break free. And you sink slowly too like Artex did. It's like it just creeps up on you and you can't even remember how you got to that point.

"Artax, please, you're letting the sadness of the swamps get to you. You have to try. You have to care, for me, you're my friend, and I love you."

That's the most coolest yet sadest and most memorial song ever composed.

I don't know why..but this song really peaked in my heart when depression hit.. you can choose to drown or you can choose to struggle your way out..either way is valid...

This song is a symbol for grief, depression and black nights within.

This is actually better than the original. A rare thing to find. Thanks

Fault in this. If artax got overwhelmed by the swamps of sadness,then atrue would have died too because he was screaming for his horse and crying. Was still sad though.

Finally, a version of this track without the STUPID electric guitar! This is the next best thing to the theatrical version. I remember buying the studio soundtrack score on cd years ago and being thoroughly disappointed. Swamps of sadness and the ivory tower theme?? Completely different. I was pissed lol

The is a song that has a sacred touch with sadness. .......... What can u say?

There are a couple choices both having to do with suffering and disperse itself . One if Atreu leaves artax not only does he suffer from his emotions, wondering if he gave up so easy and should have stayed with artax till the end. But he also suffers because he has to watch his friend go into darkness and he is trying to help him out, but artax has himself chose the darkness, and there was nothing Atreu could do because Atreu could not choose aertex choices in the end. We can't choose for other only our actions. Atreu at that point would rather fight to the end for his friend to try to save him then to let him die alone in despair. Regardless of if artax could not see it artau heart was so big for aertex he did not let aertex die alone. thus, having to suffer with watching him die. Atrau himself choose to stay with his Buddie to the end regardless because he loved artax! he could not live with himself leaving him alone in despair and dyeing! thus still suffering, thus choosing the less of the two suffering in his heart. This is a fantastic movie and speaks deep volumes of philosophical thought. I guess it boils down to how far you are willing to see someone fall into despair will you help them fight to the very end or will you walk away and let them go alone in despair and have to live with that what if I had done something line. ~ just my thoughts though and yes, I'm horrible at spelling 🙂 In the end it was the love and perseverance he had for his friend in his heart is why atru lives through the very thing that would have drove his heart if not listen to into despair itself.

What Atreyu didn't realize was by calling Artax a stupid horse near the end, he destroyed any self esteem Artax had left in him ultimately making him succumb to his depression, allowing the swamp to take him.

You sir...ARE A GOD. Seriously. I can't even detail how let down I was when I bought both versions of the soundtrack and neither had the proper movie version of the Swamps of Sadness. Now this, at last, finally...thank you to infinity. If you ever feel like you need to do the proper movie version (Moroder's take) of the Ivory Tower, I won't complain. :)

This... I feel a bit of a story unraveling in my mind as I'm listening.... A man is walking in a somewhat "dystopian/post - apocalyptic world... Looking at all the destruction.. Until he comes upon his old house where he grew up... As he walks inside.... He sees all the old photos on the wall.. And then he turns a corner, walks up the stairs to his old bedroom and looks around... Nothing in his room has changed since his childhood, he walks out and suddenly there's a foul stench in the air.... He walks to the end of the hall and sees his mother and father laying together in bed... He doesn't scream or panic... Instead he simply stands at the door... Smiles and shuts their bedroom door.

I guess Ariel is my Artax, because she's dead to me. And to the world. And here i sit all alone. Aloneness. It makes me sad. So sad without my Artax. My Ariel.

This is suicide. That was because Artex just didn’t move at all and let the sadness consume them. Like imagine this for example. When a person is depressed, they’ll start caring less about life more and more even doing self harm. Self harm can take place in taking a lot of pills every day hoping it will take your life soon, purging(it destroys your inside) and more. It’s also impossible for them to break free once they’re stuck in a depressive state. So then once they make their escape, they’ll be “free”. that is what is so sad about this scene. but well a lot of ppl relate to this sadness too including me.
