Splendida esibizione al flicorno tenore (Baritone Horn) di Katrina Marzella con THe National Youth Brass Band of Scotland ai Campionati Europei di Brass Band del 2004.
You should stick to it Diane. Practice with a tuba or contrabassoon player. If you can swing it. Try the euphonium. It has a baroque tone that is very lovely. You'll see!😉
The tone quality is wonderful. It has the rich sound that you would expect from a baritone with the brilliant edge that you want from the instrument. A euphonium might be richer but you wouldn't get such a bright sound. A very good job of getting the most out of the instrument!
now THIS is something I aspire to! I see Euphoniums, Tenor Horns, Cornets, Flugels and the odd Bass get solos but I think the Baritone need more solos written for them!
In my opinion there is no better instrument than the baritone. When i was in grade 5 many many moons ago i was given a list of 3 instruments i wanted to play and baritone was my last and i'm so glad it was given to me. My inspiration to play was my high school music teacher Mr Palmer who showed me my potential and i thank him for it. I haven't played in 30 years and listening to this piece makes me miss it more and more. Great job
Katrina, such an example of grace under pressure. This was played as melancholy as it was intented to be. Surely she is an inspiration to other young people to have determination to succeed like this. Thank you for the video.
You can! Practice. Practice with a tuba or contrabassoon player with easy marches. Block M. Washington Post March. Over and over ok? You'll be fine and very good too!😉
Say Heah, Yeah, I started the Baritone, because the school lacked trumpets. I still love the Baritone for pieces like this. I think this young lady did a fantastic job, poured her soul down that mouthpiece, Bravo.,,.p
A most beautiful rendition, perfectly phrased, and so nice to hear it played on a small Bb baritone. I'd like to play it that well on my small Yamaha baritone.
Your tone is amazing, your intonation flawless, but your breathing -- that's what absolutely astounds me. Then, just to show me that I'm right that you have fantastic breath control, comes that last note! Fantastic!!
Damn..... Hits me hard every time. I was in band since elementary school all the way through high school but was too nervous to try out for college and every time I go to a competition or a concert I miss it more and more. Never let go of your dreams......
Wonderful, thats just amazing. I played baritone in 77, also in high school before the army in 81,82,83... you know this caused me to dust it off and play again. Thank you.
Honestly I bet everyone that’s hating on her sucks. Don’t talk unless you can prove something. Run your mouths all day long. That won’t stop her. She is honestly my role model and I watch this all the time. Instead of wasting your time bringing someone down with you how about you practice instead. I love this video so much. 💪💓
i received my bachelor's degree in euphonium performance from indiana university, and I can say without reservations that this performance was lovely!!!! i like how she used the 3rd valve for the g's!
