We are talking about 4 artists here. I think they showed a real group force which artistic sides have to struggle with. They were great, they dealt with health. mental issues and life's tragedies. They sure made my life better, thanks, Sweet.
4 mates. Who seem to care about each other, no matter what the rest of us think. I wasn't a fly on the wall, so don't know, how, what, or why. The original 4..will live forever as young Rockers.
They were technically better than the purps. Andy you are and always be a very very under rated guitar player keep up keeping on love you guys.... I would absolutely lose my mind if i could have ever to see you guys as a 3 piece never mind as a 4 piece origonal members.... Luv ya keep going

It´s very good to know, Andy and Mick wanted to get Brian back, but as we know, things with Brian were not as good as it would have been, also there was Brian´s problems with booze and maybe, maybe some sort of attitude problems. Anyway, Mick and Andy formed Sweet again and Steve was in America, so we know the rest, what happened, till 1988, Mike Chapman had so much keen on to reform band, but at that time, Brian´s voice was gone and the reform had to be banned for good. Unfortunately, that was the end of the mighty Sweet by Brian, Andy, Mick and Steve.
i think there is a similar resentful inner jealousy that never cooled off from Andy even years after Brian died as there still is with the Beach Boys Mike Love towards Dennis Wilson. Brian like Dennis when they were young in the prime of the bands attracted much more females to them than any other member in the bands. It was the same with Paul McCartney in the Beatles. Paul was the member most females were attracted to more than all the other members. Most females even admitted when asked.
Andy seems to have been envious of the fact that Brian was taking too much attention and press.Andy actually wanted him out of the band,I"d like to hear him comment on that!
It`s way more complex than just about press & girls - Study the Sweet history and you will know more about the business background that played a major role in all this...
I saw an interview with Sweet's PR guy & he said the other guys were upset that Brian got all the press, but he told them that that was bcs Brian was the only one willing to come in for interviews. Besides, when one watches all the videos, esp the earlier ones, Andy is constantly looking at & for the camera & engaging in antics to try to draw attention to himself. Of COURSE he was jealous of Brian!
to Mr Blunforce; Andy couldn´t take it anymore, cos Brian wasn´t able to be without drinkin, that´s the fact, unfortunately. So were Mick and Steve. How to work as a team, if one is out off control and it´s all bout the career and music and money, to survive? The only way was to make rules and then there were three....
Alex Tiganus Alcoholics are impossible to tolerate for extended periods ,very difficult to manage your own life without having to deal with an obnoxious drunk. Brian was an impressive frontman but It sounds like he was difficult to be around when he was drinking, which was all the time. RIP Brian, Mick and Steve.
