My grandfather sold them back in the early 80's he had about 30 of them in his shop. they never sold. they were still there when I graduated high school in the early 90's. I had 2 of them as birthday gifts from him as a kid. an orange one and a green one. I loved those bikes. had a lot of fun on them.

I wish i still had my swing bike, i had in 1988. Was so fun.

I have a 100% all original orange one. Every time I get it out people wont stop asking about it. I take it to the 4th of july party every year and it's a huge hit.

That wealthy rancher was my Grandfather, J. Reid Hoggan. And I listened to that theme song record all the time as a kid. 😄

It is great learning the history of the Swing Bike! A friend brought a DIY swing bike back from Eugene and after that I started building them for all my friends. That was 20 years ago and I've probably built maybe 40-50 by now. It is criminal that more people don't have access to them and it's sad how many people are intimidated by them.

I still have mine it's on the backyard shed ,went from factory to who knows where end it up in Puerto Rico ,I trade with a neighbor for Atari the 1st I'm talking in the mid 80 ,went to a couple of festival on the beach in PR ,and my kids came to the world I put in on a friend bike shop and was there for like 10 yrs and when iv move to Florida i fix it and it was lot of fun on Hollywood beach and life again😕 work💪 ,work💪 ,work💪 and I put it back on the patio 🏡shed and been there since 2008 ,good news a clean the patio 🏡shed took it back put it apart with lot of memories,it hurt because got some rust on the rims but I will put it back the way it was Pd. I lived next the original inventor for a little bit on his airport when i was 18-19 (33 now), he lived in his hanger with his blue experimental biplane i went up with once. great guy, lot of fun xD, told me all about these. My coworker mostly flew with much more often, had a twin turbo prop Comanche he took to Minnesota on the weekends. Beautiful plane, he thought it was a piece of junk, he didn't like the under wing design, said couldn't see below very well. I had an R32 Recumbent i rode on the tarmac, he said he really liked unique bikes i think it was what started the conversation lol

I remember back in the early 80s the first time i saw one. I was about 6 years old and i was i so fascinated by the thing. It was like nothing i had ever seen before. The teenager that was riding it was very skilled and put on quite a show. Not even a freestyle bike with rotors a pegs could match it. Never seen another one up close since..

Okay, Did this ever come to fruition? Haven’t seen any on the market.

Me and some friends found one of these in a bush is a right state in the early 90s had no wheels or handle bars we build it with Bmx parts we had at time have looked but never seen one again being from the uk it had Circus cycle written on it hence why never seen the swing bike until tonight very fond memories trying and let people have a go on it need one again thanks for a great video 👍

I would definitely buy one I built three of them without actually seeing how they were built I really enjoyed riding my version of the swing bike

I won one in the late 70s when I did a bikeathon and it was a prize. I was probably 13 or 14 in Burbank California.

My dad bought about 30 of them. This is what I learned on when a kid.

I bought one early 80s off a friend £15 ! And unfortunately snapped it in half doing jumps Worth a lot of money now.

I have an original swing bike in the box brand new never been put together. It’s yellow. My father bought it in the 70s and kept it away all these years. I still have my blue one that I still ride but I’m willing to sell this new original one if the price is right.

Hi, I have a special request. My dear friend has been diagnosed with Stage 4 ILC breast cancer, with metastasis to her lower back. She has bone cancer. She also has a 100% original Blue Swing Bike without the spring (because she was good enough to take it off) hanging in her shed in the backyard. She wants to ride it one more time, and then she's willing to sell it. She said it needs new tires and another part? Can you help me figure out what I can do to make her bucket list wish a reality? The oncologists say she has 0-5 years to live, and I know this would bring her so much joy to her before this awful cancer eats her alive... how can I get what parts it needs? We're in Happy Valley Utah but can travel wherever, however. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. THANK YOU
