My grandmother was born in 1891. She was a flapper when that came around. Short hair, worked selling shoes, smoked cigarettes at home in a dark kitchen. I loved this! Was pretending my grandma was in the troope- lol

Everyone is talking about the dancing but the camera work here is fantastic too. Fred Astaire has a rule that the whole body should be shot so the audience can see perfectly well what is happening (later Bruce Lee applied this to martial arts. And this makes it difficult to mask bad choreography with cuts and closeups, so that has to be spot on as well). Also, great use of steadycam work.

Ну хоть один коммент справедливо подметил реальную суть вещей. И лишь немногие с нею согласны. Но нас меньшинство. Не хочется обижать танцовщиц - они старались, но ведь это правда, возрастная категория, до обидного, из тяжеловесов. Не стану продолжать и умолкаю. Это уже не поправимо. Увы! 😉😊

Well the costumes and much of the dance steps are from the flapper era of the 1920s while the song didn't exist till the late 1930s. But a fun interpretation.

А что касается профессионального танца, то с избыточным килограммами тяжело танцевать. Также как и бегать марафоны. К тому же тренировки по 6 часов в день, сжигают много калорий, но и последнее - уважение к партнёром, мужского рода,чтобы не надрывали, а берегли свой позвоночник. В одном с Вами соглашусь постановка очень милая. А определение "аппетитные бабешки" уж очень примитивное, извените.

@@kasiam.180 Звучит слишком по - русски? Но лучше, чем "бабища"... Кстати русские мужья называли своих жён - "моя баба". Немецкие мужья -- mein Weib, английские мужья -- my wife. Ну а нежно - ласкательнае формы, как то бабец, бабочка, бабёшка и т.д. -- дело вкуса. Ах да! Слово "извините" пишется через два И.

Except for the tattoos it was amazing and most enjoyable. I loved it that each woman enjoyed it and was very good. It is an old dance and the clothes and the whole thing was a surprise. Who would have taught that nowadays anyone would dance Charleston.

In the Broadway show "Fosse", which ran in two different eras, the SIng, Sing, Sing finale was showstopping. This routine makes great use of Benny Goodman's unmatched number and the ladies, in the their flapper outfits, are having an absolute blast swinging to it. Well done!
