I remember people were sure that Nitendo was going to release an upgraded version to the original Switch around 2018, some people were so sure that they made angry posts on social media about people wasting their money on a regular Switch when they heard the rumors about a possible Switch Pro. I wonder where are those people now? To be fair, I'd like to hear some official news from Nintendo in reagards their new console, but I find it kind of hilarious how so many channels and forum posters have been going in circles for the last 3 years or so in regards the next Nintendo console. I believe that one of the things that people put too much weight into, is the fact that they think that they can predict what Nintendo is going to do based on previous patterns, be it game releases or previous Direct dates, but I think you cannot predict how things are going to occur based only on patterns
The Nintendo fanbase is extremely impatient w/ this Switch 2 info... i am sure Nintendo is well aware that they are itching for some kind of teaser announcement/ reveal to the Switch successor and Nintendo youtube channels losing views, etc and all of this nonsense... but that isn't going to make them announce this thing sooner rather than later... Fact is, they don't even have to announce it this year if they don't want to and they could hold out to say January of next year or Jan-March... but I do expect an October reveal at the earliest... but overall there will be plenty to play on Switch this Q4 when you factor in 3 brand new first-party games + some interesting third party stuff like Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Horizon Lego Adventures, the Dragon Quest remakes, etc.. and there may even be more like a December game...
@@JB-qu8pvAstro Bot looks cool and it's refreshing to see another company other than Nintendo make a AAA 3D platformer of that level of quality and creativity but at the end of the day MORE people will be playing both The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom & Super Mario Party: Jamboree as both of those games will end up selling more than Astro Bot...

people are only impatient because Nintendo released a handheld that even for 2017 was pathetic power wise. Had Nintendo went with more powerful hardware and decided to sell at a loss for a few years, less people would be impatient. Adding on to the fact that ARM technology like the M chips from Apple has advanced so fast in the few years it's obvious that people want to see what Nintendo will put out now that ARM is pretty good compared to years ago
In my opinion, the thing about people being so impatient in regards to the lack of an official confirmation of a new Nintendo console, has to do with the fact that we have never seen Nintendo, or any video game company in general, having a console in the market for so long without announcing a new console. For example, the Nintendo 64 was announced, under the name Project Reality, in 1993, when the Super NES was on its third year, the development of the GameCube was announced in 1999, three years before its release. The Switch has been in the market for almost 8 years now, and Nintendo hasn't mentioned anything about a new console, apart from a brief mention in their latest business meeting. But we don't know anything about its specs or when it's going to be release, aside from some insiders and leaks, but we can be sure if they are correct about it
Aside these people just don't really play games, I don't know why these people are so unhinged with Switch 2's rumored release time frame, this ain't wii U to Switch where there's almost no major games to play for the next system.
Yeah hopefully they don't try too much gimmicky bs that will confuse people. If it ain't broke, don't need to fix anything... just make it bigger and better, end of story.

It's worth noting that Chris Dring has been wrong about everything he's said about Nintendo since (at least) 2022 "Nintendo has no games after ToTK" "Mario Wonder is not a major game" "There's no Direct this June (2024)"
That excuse that big game means it'll sell 10 million in a weekend or something was cringey. Just admit you got things wrong and don't place arbitrary measurements. That he apparently claimed there would be no June Direct is also quite hilarious.

I can’t really imagine the hardware pushing the supposed 120hz screen that was leaked. That would put it above all the PC handhelds despite the Switch 2’s chip being designed before most of the aforementioned systems. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think that’s probably the most skepticism worthy thing I’ve heard so far.
If they would be able to bounce the screen wirelessly from the original switch to tv, the light users would complain that they should technically be able to do that too
If you dig into things a bit, you will actually find that Dring doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to, specifically, Nintendo rumours. so don’t despair just yet.
The earliest being april is clickbait IMO. Before that report it was "earliest is march 2025" who cares if it's weeks later. Anything in the March - May 2025 for a release is perfectly reasonable. When it comes to specs, yeah in handheld it should be surpassing Steam Deck pretty easily, the GPU has 3 times the processors (ALUs) over SD at 1536 vs 512. It has faster bandwidth, at 120GB/s vs 88GB/s for SD, it uses 11GB RAM for games, where as PS5 uses 13GB RAM. Being a closed environment that developers will be making games directly for, means that they will be able to take advantage of unique API features too, and also T239 is built for RT and upscaling via DLSS, things Steam Deck does not do very well. Docked, it will be better than XBSS thanks to more RAM available, but also because it will achieve a similar raw performance from the GPU, with those RTX features on top and developers more willing to take advantage of the single configuration vs XBSS. In the end, Switch 2 is very capable and we will see a lot more 3rd party support right out of the gate. I fully expect Call of Duty, Monster Hunter Wilds and GTA6 to be on Switch 2 within the first year.
I just hope Switch 2 has great games and sells well. If it’s backwards compatible that would be great because my Switch has been acting a little weird lately and I would love to retire it.
My switch is gathering dust because of steam deck. If switch is only comparable to steam deck, it is going to be disappointing for me. Hope it supercedes steam deck.
Switch 1 announced in 2015 as code name NX and released in 2017 Switch two will do the samething announced in 2025 releases in 2027 Perfect timing for switch’s tenth anniversary what better way to celebrate that then with a new switch That was always my speculation and it seems like it’s being validated based on those rumored headlines
Yeah no it’s releasing next year man. Just because Switch 1 had its code name announced then 2 years later it was out doesn’t mean the Switch 2 will do the same.

I don't mean to be argumentative OJ....but if Nintendo isn't the "best" with backwards compatibility......who is? GB, GBC, GBA all played on GBA. GBA game played on DS. DS played on 3DS. GC played on Wii and Wii played on Wii U. I am pretty sure that, as BC is concerned, Nintendo is the best and has done it the most. Ps1 on PS2 was good. PS2 on 3 was basically one console variant. Xb on XB 360 was only some games and that trend has been continued to this day. Other than All XB1 games play on Series X. PS4 games play on PS5. So really only the last two generations have had blanket BC. Nintendo has been doing it since the early 90s. Even releasing the Super GB so you could play them through your SNES. In my opinion, Nintendo is the best at it hands down. Only other platform that has it more is PC.

You must not be mature enough to understand what he said. There are several channels releasing successor videos almost daily or a few times per week, this channel doesn’t do this and he only wanted to give his thoughts on all the recent rumors because there are so many. It’s very hard not to talk about the successor at all so he is definitely not a hypocrite because he was expressing that although he is covering it today he doesn’t want to be covering the rumors daily like many channels have done.
