I wouldn’t say it’s dead. It’s still being used a ton, but it will probably die when the switch 2 comes out. So I would say this could be listed as a theory.
They just made peach joycons 😂. It's a retro system once the ps5 mass produced like a big zam. Though they make more first party games and family online was a better deal when you get 3+ others. Amiibos are dead like motion controls I admit. Reminds me of 3ds later games phasing out 3d once the budget 2ds was made.
I’m pretty sure this packaging was actually first used on reprints of amiibo in Japan but then went on to be used with new amiibo as well. Before I thought this may have just been a way to get rid of the advertising for the previous generation of consoles, but you’ve made me realize this also is totally future-proofing them as well. After many years of fake leaks and rumors, I think this year may FINALLY be the year we get the next Nintendo system announced/released.
Unfortunately. I have to agree. After playing zelda totk, i stopped playing until mario wonder came out and stopped playing again. im on my ps5 most of the time now. upcoming switch games are mario games that im not interested in. I am also a nintendo facebook page admin and there are also no activities because people are losing interest. Im glad to hop back in if they release wind waker on switch but that's it.
Nintendo has been planning to move on from the Switch since March 3rd of 2017. The system is in its 7th year. Changing on packaging of amiibo doesn't scream the Switch is dead, especially for amiibo that are from a Switch game. Switch 2 is coming its been coming, this is as click bait as it gets.
That's a big logical stretch. Nothing more than "conspiracy theory". Yes, Switch 2 will probably come out. No, it doesn't say anything that they drop support for Switch (1?). It's example of the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" logical fallacy. This fallacy occurs when someone assumes that because one event happened after another, the first event must have caused the second. In this case, the release of a new Amiibo without Switch compatibility is seen as a cause or indication of a new console release, though there may not be a direct causal relationship.
And yet this is still a good indicator that Nintendo is making moves towards a new console. They wouldn’t remove badging like this unless they were moving towards something different as why remove all trace of the current console even unless they are preparing future package changes to look different
I would not say the Switch is dead, but it definitely is on its way out the door this year. All of the obvious signs are there: there are no more major first-party titles coming out for the system and several games that offered updates (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) or future DLC (Splatoon 3) have either stopped with the updates or will be ending them later this year. I think it is indeed very likely that Nintendo will reveal the successor to the Switch within the next few months and then release it in Q4 2024 on time for the holiday shopping season. However there will still be Switch games coming out this year and it would not surprise me if some titles will still be released for it in 2025, while also releasing for the new system as well.
WTF, how is the switch dead when I just saw people walking out of Walmart with a Nintendo Switch in their hands? So, I would not say dead until Nintendo themselves say it's over.
You are correct that until Nintendo directly states it the Switch isn’t technically dead. I maintain this is still good evidence that they are preparing to move forward in there product lineup and away from the Switch
