Definitely riff 2. I feel like the 3 finger gallop on the low C is essential, though. I'm only able to handle it at like 80% speed right now, but it feels soooooo amazing when I play it.
Another wicked vid! Got stuck chainwatching all your stuff the last couple days , all good chit man. Was shaking the Windows in my house learning ”Empress Rising” yesterday🤘🏻😂🤘🏻
This song is pure mayhem! A bit "intimidating" at first because of the tempo but there are so many "exercises" in the riffs. Great stuff, by far one of my favorite songs to (try to) play. Thank you, Jered!
Gonna practice this tomorrow, the way you upload these sheets for playing along makes it so much easier for me. I actually learned spacegrass quite quickly hohohooo
🙏Thank you🙏So cool you dig the video! “Freya” holds a special place in my heart and had a blast playing this incredible jam. Really appreciate you checking this out, man🤜🤛🤘
Great question! This bass is set up for C-Standard tuning and laced up with Ernie Ball Power Slinkys. If you only tune down every once in a while, you should be good with going up a string size. Best case scenario is if you have more than one bass to have one in standard tuning and another set up for down tunings🤜🤛🤘
If you've got a 5 string, you can just tune the B string up a half step to C and leave the other strings alone. All the fret numbers on the EADG strings will be one higher than what he refers to then. (So when he says hammer on from fret 5 to 7, it'll be frets 6 to 8 instead)
I hear ya - no matter which tuning, as long as it’s a “standard” and not a drop tuning, I refer to the strings as EADG or 4321. This is because transposing the open strings is simple enough, but transposing the rest of the fretboard takes up way to much brain power 🤘
