The harmony is STILL in tact! Always Loved the Sylvers even though they were UNDERRATED. Foster did an excellent job doing the songs Edmund originally lead.
Apparently Joe didn't want them to be on any tour his family was on and it's understandable, because as a group The Sylvers blow The Jacksons out of the water. MJ is the only reason The Jacksons sold millions of records.
Beautiful tribute. God bless their parents, both brothers Edmund, and Chris May they all rest in peace. I lo💗ed this! Wish I were there. Misdemeanor, Forever Yours, Hotline and Boogie Fever GAVE ME LIFE! Thanks for posting this. God Bless the Sylvers and continue to cover them, Lord.
enjoyed them thoroughly as a child and enjoying them even more as an adult... im glad i was there theyr'e still in my favorites of all time.....Rip Edmund
Not to mention the number of so incredibly beautiful songs (lyrics, vocal arrangements, horns, guitar solos, bass lines, hooks, chorus, synth riffs, oh man... I've been watching Sylvers - Come on Back official video at least 3 times a day for almost a week... On tears not by sadness but by the beauty of their work.
Loved this performance, they still have the moves and harmony and guess what... The Jacksons can't even do this anymore, they were called the bootleg version but Unsung taught us better! Angie was moving her butt off and singing so well, they all were but she's really noticable in this. Love how Foster gives God the glory for his perseverance!
Foster Definitely Did a Excellent 👍🏾 Job, Especially with "Hot Line" doing Edmunds Lead. I Really Wish They would induct This Group into The Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame, They Definitely Earned Their Stripes over the Years Up until Now. Great 👍🏾 Show by The Sylvers. Shalom Fam ✊🏾🧔🏾👍🏾
I can't even count the number of times I've watched this concert and the Sylvers Unsung episode on RU-vid. Probably because it's the only thing available to watch about them now, but I've always loved this beautiful group so much. Was finally able to get their first three albums on CD after waiting for decades but I hope they'll record those last two gorgeous songs from this concert too, especially the one they wrote about love and loss. My opinion only but I think it was songs like those that truly showcased their real talent. Not taking anything away from Boogie Fever or Hot Line. Am glad those tunes brought them a measure of success. But neither of those songs had the depth or creativity Leon was known for. Neither were on Cry Of A Dreamer level. Those last slow songs (in addition to Fool's Paradise and their early music) made me remember what the Sylvers were really about. I hope God blesses them ten fold for everything those crook producers stole.
The Sylvers are one of the greatest Groups ever. Dance tunes never have the depth of regular tunes because the strength have to be in the "BEAT" so we can "Dance Dance Dance" !!! LOL...
@@miadellahayman2491 Lol! ☺ For me I guess it's just a matter of preference because I love listening to their harmony in the slower songs. The Sylvers could do it ALL though! They could dance their behinds off on their fast paced songs. Remember watching them do "Free Style" on Soul Train? 😉 They were just the total package: a gorgeous looking group that could harmonize on those ballads and dance up a storm on their fast ones too! Their choreography was something else!
The SyLvers are Fantastic ! My best friend used to Live two houses down the street from them on AngeLo drive in BeverLy GLen in the 1970's ! His name was Sammy Sosna and we used to aLways be out in front of their home and pLay and have fun . . .I stiLL have a crush on Angie ! Big Hugs FoLks . . .Sending Love . . . ALL GLory to our Father Christ Jesus ! ! ! BLessings and Joy and Freedom and Victory in His Precious BLood and Living Word and HoLy and Mighty Name . . .
BEAUTIFUL ❤ The Sylver's are so UNSUNG! I hear the grandbaby singing along, reminds me of how we lil kids had the Boogie Fever real bad 🥰 It's a "lovely feeling" to have grown up knowing & appreciating great music fm true legends
Back in the 70's my mom took my brother, sister and I to Disneyland and Magic Mountain driving from the Bay Area the Sylvers were on the radio the entire trip at the time they were my favorite group. To my surprise they were performing live at Magic Mountain it was my first concert ever. I also remember them performing on Soul Train Pat was a pretty girl then she's a beautiful woman now.
Me too! They recorded my first published song way back in 1974 when I was still a babe, and I toured with them as their bassist at the height of their success.. but I never tire of their amazing harmonies and positive spiritual energy!
hope to see more Sylvers reunion shows...make your way to DC ya'll Bethesda Blues & Jazz or Birchmere... we waiting in DMV (that stands for DC, Maryland (suburbs and Virginia suburbs)
Hmm!...you do realize that Leon was voted out, their manager at that time pitted the group against each other ( this is what they do!) Leon's more mature songwriting would've taken the group farther but the manager thought otherwise, wanted to keep them singing youthful pop songs ( to compete with J-5 no doubt) Had they chose to fire their manager & stay with Leon, they would've been more successful!
If Michael Jackson weren’t in J5 , the Silvers would have been number 1 family group. They just like the Debarge family had everyone singing great. Mike and a little bit of Jermaine had voices, but everyone else weren’t stand out singers. Alll the Sylvers and Debarge members could do solo if they had too. Savers were underaged, go check them out with harmony’s on those old Ed Sullivan shows, the were kill in it as babies!
But I MUST HAVE TO OBSERVE, almost everyone there just watching them thru their cell phones, like cyber monkeys. Feelingless way to capture the vibe; So cold and sad...
