I have a 2013 Symba. Great little bike. It is a copy of the Honda Cub and was built under license from Honda in Taiwan. I have never had any issues with it but I ride it all the time. Good video. Thanks

The Sym Symba is a pretty decent copy, just like all old motorcycles 90% of the time why it doesn't want to run is simply carburetor issues. Definitely recommend that anyone with a carbureted motorcycle take apart the carb first to see how it works and then ride it

Did you get it ironed out? I’ve had two of them with the default so-called ‘carb problem’. I searched forever (years ago) and after months of reading comments, one source said he found a hose beneath the seat that was folded into. When he unfolded it and reinforced it, it ran normal. I later found the same hose beneath the seat of the symba I still had and it was indeed folded like an old water hose. It’s been so long, don’t remember much about this stuff. I ruined that bike’s engine in 2014 by using ethanol. Found out too late so it’s been 10 years since I’ve had a symba. Love those things. Wish I had another one!

SYM (San Yang Motors) is a huge Taiwanese manufacturer. There designs, materials and build quality are excellent. SYM also serves as a sub-contractor to Hyundai, and if I remember correctly, the last of the "Honda" Cubs were actually made by SYM under contract and oversight from Honda. The Symba never really took of in the USA. I know they stopped importing them, but I don't know what year. Too bad really...they were really good, cheap and reliable.

Thank you so very much for this video! I own a 2010 SYM (Sanyang Motors) Symba 100. I’ve done basic maintenance on the bike over the years but now have to go a little deeper before getting it back on the road this year. This vid is a tremendous help! It’s been a great bike and I managed to get it up to 50mph during a commute to work several years ago. As you mentioned in the video; it’s made in Taiwan. So, build quality is excellent! Years ago SYM was one of Honda’s contracted manufacturing companies making the ( you meet the nicest people on a….) Honda Cub for the Asian market. According to the “Team Symba” Blogspot: SYM manufactured the Honda Super Cub (C100, C102, CM91, C70M, C70, etc...) under license by Honda from 1961 to 2002, and from that point on continued the line independently, enhancing and improving the design through 2015. SYM’s upgrades included telescoping forks, a ceramic-lined engine cylinder and ultimately, EFI. IMHO, the automatic choke on the earlier USA Symba was the only downside of the updated “Cub” machine. Still, once introduced in the U.S. market during 2009/2010, buyers were essentially getting a classic Honda Cub (many made-for Cub accessories/parts bolt right on), with comparable reliability. Sadly, issues around the U.S. distributor, including a disastrous fire; a second distributor and a lackluster dealer network, challenged Symba availability and accessories in the States. The Symba was known as the “Wowow” in the Asian market. Sadly 😢, production of this classic underbone motorcycle design ended a few years ago, around 2015/2016, presumably in favor of more conventionally designed SYM scooters and motorcycles. Fortunately, Honda continues to make import a 21st century street Cub (C125 EFI) and dual-sport Trail (CT125 EFI) to USA. So, you can still meet the nicest people…

I've had mine for about 6 years and it works great. I did have to install a manual fuel tap but it was easy. I'd like to know the size of the AGM battery. Can you tell me that? I'm not loving the old flooded battery.

Seems like every damn time you watch a review of this bike people always make the same mistake. Dammit stop calling it a SYM as in a word. They are known world wide as a S Y M three letters and not a word as you are calling it. Drives me crazy. If you are going to talk about a bike, at least get the name right.

I have not heard it called an S Y M. even the dealer near me calls it a Sym. Sorry for ruffling your feathers on this one. Thank you for watching.

I have a Symba also. They are bulletproof if you run non ethanol gas in them. Honda patent. Vacuum gas shut off is squirrely and has hdyrolocked mine twice. This seems to happen when the bike is made unlevel (uphill or downhill). I added a fuel shut off vavle to the fuel line and stopped this problem. Change the oil when hydrolocked because crankcase will be full of gas and oil. Great video! Thanks

Saw the thumbnail and thought it was a Honda 50 from back in the day when I was a kid! I had a big poster of it up on my bedroom wall.

They don't have a large following in the USA, but some dealers are selling them. I have a SYM Jet 14 200i which is an awesome bike. If you look at the company's bio, they used to build for Honda back in the day. And they do have a good build quality. The owner needs to take care of it and he will get plenty of trouble-free miles and smiles. 😁

Sir, I am looking for one of this. Does it make from Japan!? If used over 2000 miles how much it worth ( and new battery needed) I saw one on fb marketplace, I would like to have your opinion please. Thank you.

This is a good machine but not made in Japan. It is a clone of a Honda and I just saw one on marketplace here in KC. It was listed for $1200.00 and that does not surprise me considering all used motorcycles of similar size are a bit inflated in price right now. Thank you for watching.
