The fact that that one dude called into the radio station to be like “what’s the name of that song Reebox or Nike?” 🤣 Rhythn of the night one of the best tracks ever still going strong out there even tho some ppl thought it was about Reebox and Nike. It is crazy to think that the musicians of this era and before never knew that they would be such a great and long-lasting influence for future generations. They probably never thought or imagined anything like that. They just followed their emotions and expressed them. Not caring about the future. Just doing their own thing. We shouldn't just sample their music, but also their attitude of living life :-)

The track is raw in emotion 100% but so sophisticated on the synths, orchestration, vocals and production. Epitomizes the Ibadan, Chandler , Body and Soul vibe, and it has aged so so so well.

I had exactly the same experience 2 years ago on tml.. for 3 hours he was playing in a room for only 200 people max b2b with another dj(don’t now his name) and lady linn a famous belgian female singer was singing the lyrics in songs like this.. I can listen to this song over and over again.. never tired of iT!

The "Deep House" people refer to these days is NOT deep house. Its shit. Maceo Plex is NOT deep house and tbh neither is Roger S. He lost himself after the 90s. Sad but true. Had to play this again after hearing Kerri play it last night at printworks. Hearing this 20+ year old tune come in towards the end of his set just finished me off! Those chords, the bassline and that beat! Just incredible. I don’t think this will ever age.

Loved KC for decades now and this tune from its release. Went to see KC in Leeds at their Garden Party in 2018 , even though I'm now in my 40s. The set was mint, the crowd were top drawer . The roar when this went up was unforgettable. Mans a legend.
