Wanting, always looking Searching for that door Feeling, always hoping Believing more and more Will I find it in your eyes or will I go home empty-handed? Will I see it in your smile or do I always end up stranded? Do I go on getting nowhere? The world is low, the wind blows cold Is there no one I can hold on? It is tough I've been told All the people and their places, the names and all their faces, what do they say? They're walking hand in hand, but do they understand what games they play?
Yeah this is totally 80’s, I’m late 70’s born so I dunno how it could come across as sounding otherwise. Could’ve well been be 86/87 for sure but this to me sounds more early 80’s (83 as you say). It’s ‘colder’. Someone who geeks out over synths/equipment (Simmons drums?) production, would be able to tell that the production used was from the time.
Why, thank you. Not saying I'm smart Taylor, just saying I'm old af. Loads of music from the 80's sounds like this. It's been redone for years and now a generation of kids born after can't tell the origin.
I opened up Zachtronics puzzle game *SHENZHEN I/O* at the same time as this song started playing. I literally thought this was the OST; it fit SO perfectly.
There was a vaporwave version of this made by "M a k e B e l i e v e" @ 44:00 or so on their album "The Distance Between Us". Interesting to finally hear the real normal version.
