@@theGoldenMilkyway Yep. musically, the structure and pitch are similar, in addition to the vocal arrangement on the chorus--the female background singer comes in after Mick just like on "Dont Disturb This Groove".
I honestly didn’t think I could Love a song as much as “Don’t Disturb” but it something in this that grabs the hell out of me!! These guys put in the work!! OMG!!!
This is like poetry to a beat. One of my most favorite system songs.vocals so airy David Frank's arrangements are terrific. wish they would make new music
These guys have so many hits and were so underrated. This track and a few others that weren’t played were hot but barely or never played. The System I still play their songs still. Mic and David keep playing guys
The production on this track in particular is perfect. The tempo is stately while the staccato instruments all lock together tighter than a toothpick. Of course Mic's gliding vocals have just the right amount of delay for the wetness, while David has those pads filled out with all that space in the center. Can't get enough. And the mix too is even better than all the vapor and synthwave that cribs from System.
Trackball76 we haven’t heard from them, at least mainstream in years. And the main popular song that’s promoted is “Don’t disturb this groove”. I JUST found other songs they have, including this one. An amazing group
My favorite part of the song 3:15, when they let the synth have its solo, and then Mic comes in with the "soul to soul" vocals ever so lightly in the background. So sweet. Two years ago, I went on my first solo trip to Atlanta, which is a five hour drive from my city. I was cruising on the highway, playing nothing but this song, Save Me, Don't Disturb this Groove, Lollipops and Everything, etc. with the windows down. It was a beautiful afternoon.
@@enriquetheprofessor yes! The intro to Lollipops and Everything is everything! I’m mad Apple took them off. I’m so tired of “this is unavailable in your country” 🙄
My boys right there!!! I love davids synth play keyboards bass etc!!! He talks about buying a keyboard/snyth at a store & saw one of George Clinton musicians doing the same! He was in the era of great players!!! I rank him with those top musicians who have soulful expressive playing styles! Georges crew,David frank,Doctor from prince,George duke, teddy r/guy-black street, jimmy jam terry Lewis , kreft werk ,etc catch my drift!? Lot of them! Some not mentioned & some of passed on. I like ?Hubert Eve's?too from d-train!! Kevin Kendricks (met him from cameo!!)
I’ve loved David Frank and Mic Murphy’s production ever since I heard Don’t Disturb This Groove. They combine the rhythm guitars and bass lines so well.
The breakdown at the beginning and middle (0:00 and 3:37 respectively) is what drove me to this song plus when Mic starts singing he brought me back to the "Dont disturb this groove" vibe. They're a really great group and I'm glad I decided to listen to more of their music.
YALL KNO THIZ HERE 2 REAL/2 BEAUTIFUL, AINT NOBODY NOW EVEN CLOSE THIS,NOT EVEN LIL JACQUEES, THIS MUSIC RIGHT HERE,MAKES U WANNA LOVE SOMEBODY AND N ALL THE RIGHT WAYZ -OL SKOOL,THE BEST SKOOL, BLESSED BE AND BIG UPZ UNDISC, U SLAY BRUH!! THE SYSTEM STILL THE BEASTZ!!!!
Here's the thing... you have some other major Heavy weights that's on this track...Chep Nunez.Cindy Mizelle and Yogi Lee on BG vocals , Mike Campbell on guitar from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and guitar session ace Paul Pesco and to seal the deal Cut Creator ( LL Cool j's DJ ) with the scratch... Is there any doubt why this track is so wretched !. We talking 1989 yo.. and this joint is still hitting MF's square in the mouth in 2018 ! yo
A Brother that knows his Music and reads linear notes. I Love It ! @erik dennard , Another favorite System production for me was the song, ' Just Come As You Are ( Superstar ). They used Luther Vandross 's people on that. Michelle Cobbs, Fonzi Thornton, Marcus Miller, Tawatha Agee , etc.
One thing they don't get credit for and is missing in alot of music now, is in that transition lyrically and musically right before the chorus. They never jump right into the bridge, love that about them...genius!
