I don't think she was possessed by a snake. She was possessed by that guy who worshiped a demon who's "theme" was snakes. Also, it's found footage style, but all of the crew survived, so the convenient edits can make sense. I think they did a really good job of moving the plot along while giving new information. The thing I can't stand about FF films is the extreme close ups, audio and visual cutting out rapidly, and shakey cam. All in all, I thought it was pretty good.

The ritual was already finished. The little girl is now Harris. The 5th sacrifice is meant to be a vessel for the person preforming the ritual. She was cured because she/ he (Dejardin) is already immortal. Debrah "eating" the girls head was the final part of the ritual.

Please can you do a review of the movie The Descent (2005)? Although I know you don't really like sci-fi horror, I think you would really like The Descent because it doesn't really focus on jump scares, the plot is really interesting, the acting is great (its a fully female cast!), the ending is amazing (you have to watch the non-US version though to get the good ending), and it focuses more on claustrophobia and other fears, and it does a really good job of building up tension.

This was creepy to me because my grandma has dementia. The acting was great by the lead also.

Not gonna lie I shit my pants when I saw this movie... but it's because somebody had told me it was a documentary about a woman with Alzheimers. I didn't go in with the expectation of it being a horror film so I flipped out when weird shit started happening lol.

I was a little disappointed and bored watching this. Also thought the documentary crew characters were generic horror a-holes. For the most part the acting was good, but there were moments I thought were weak.

You saw the movie 3 times but I still think a few things went over your head. 😕 The girl doesn't survive, that's the whole point. You can clearly see a bullet wound at the end, and when Sarah fires the gun it looks like you can see blood pouring from the girls head. It was in debs mouth at the time so the bullet had to go through the snake mouth and into the girls skull. Its actually a tragic and awkward ending because the evil spirit is kind of the only real winner out of all of this. Deb is a vegetable, Sarah is traumatised for life as are the film crew. The cop lady died, the little girl died and Harris is probably dead. Sarah will now almost definitely lose the house. But the murderers spirit lives on in the girl. He's just gained an entirely new lifetime to see whatever plans he has to fruition and worst of all, nobody knows its gonna happen and these parents aren't raising their precious daughter. She's dead, and they're raising the prick that killed her.

Eh it wasn't that scary.. Like you said when she was eating the girl lol that was the creepiest thing about the whole movie. Some of it didn't make sense like a snake is demonic? And possessing her. It's just weird

Four years on... and I've finally watched the film! LOL. Good review, but I find it odd that you would criticise the film for having a "complex plot". Why would a possession/found footage film have to have a simple plot in order to work? Why does it have to follow the same rules (of having a simple plot) like other films in the genre? I must admit I find it odd that you would take such a conventional stance. The reason the film *is* so good is because it's somewhat different from the norm - in my opinion. I fully agree on the jump-scares. Hate them!

Also the girl at the end that Deborah took from the hospital was actually shot in the head and killed when they were down in the cave lol her being killed when Sarah shot at them because Deb was all snaked out and ya know eating cara lol it’s hard to catch but if you notice the news footage of them right after they come out of the cave thing and they put Deb in an ambulance and then we see cara with her parents and she’s got a bandage over her forehead that’s got a huge blood circle on it... it’s from her getting shot in the head which is why at the very end Deborah has gotten progressively worse and can’t even speak.... but little cara is in remission and fully grown hair and stuff in like a few months . Just a little FYI

review REC!! it's a great horror film if you haven't seen it

The one problem with an otherwise fun movie was the casting for me. For found footage to work for me, I prefer not to know any of the actors. Because the lead actress was for a long time a well known soap actress from All My Children, it kind of made her casting a distraction. I guess if you never saw her on the soap opera, it wouldn’t matter. I just think this type of movie benefits from having no name actors or recognizable faces.
