Evening Kings and Queens. Special shout out to the Patron backers for making this project happen. This video took a hot min to finish , I didn't think this story would take up 30min but I hope you guys enjoy!
@@MULTIMEDIAKING94 True Fury was using his superior boxing skills on Wilder which was incredibly unfair. But tbf Wilder want just hype like Broner, he is in the top 10 longest heavyweight champs of all time, he’s just not as good as Fury which isn’t saying much.
@@veteransforequality7347 Same thing happened when he fought Pacquiao. Broner kept saying he was doing it for the hood and that the streets made him tough when Pacquiao was the one actually from the streets.
Guys like Broner, Kanye, they have these gigantic egos. they forget all will be stripped bare and judged one day. go ahead and try pulling that attitude on God. it’ll come down to “sniff sniff what do I smell cooking?
@@kenwaid8239Egos create a unique interest in boxing and combat sports as a whole. Tickets arent gonna be sold with the whole "he is a phenomenal fighter and will be my toughest test yet. I will beat him." Routine. Hancho even covered this in a video once. You need to prove your skill in order to create an ego. Thats why people like Tyson Fury, David Haye, and even Conor Mcgregor got to positions where they did. Because they were unique and created more interest in the sport.
I constantly told my family that Broner was overrated and nowhere near Mayweather and Pacquiao, but they called me a hater and crazy. Then the Maidana fight happened and he was truly exposed afterwards the entire family was shocked and I gave them the look like I told you so.
Only a casual would call Broner “overrated” The man had and definitely still has speed and sharp precision Say what you want but Broner has still yet to be stopped despite getting beaten up on by guys like Porter, Garcia and Pacquiao Who have you fought?
@@nkskrb7195 Facts. All the rappers that were like “how he lose to a 40 year old man” clearly don’t know shit. Broner’s biggest issue is that he never developed his own style. That’s why he can’t fight top contenders.
@@qthestruggler2715 Broner was\is going through a pretty serious sexual assault charges that is pretty much eating up his time since in December of 2018 all the way up until recently. He was lucky to even have the time to fight Manny since it was just a month later.
his career was pretty much over after the maidana fight bec he overestimate himself.. quite simply he does not belong to class A fighters such as pacquiao, mayweather, cotto, canelo etc..
@@SuperTruthful I reckon they should have done their own shady deal and dropped at the first jab. Escobedo's a warrior and a gentleman though, too much pride to stoop to Broner's level.
I've always wondered if I was the only one who likes watching him get destroyed like that but on the other side after the loss he could have said anything besides since he lost somehow Mayweather lost lots of cringe dude maybe just a little humiliation when the turns of the fight are set at the very least say he is a good fighter i hope I train enough to win
@@darrickdeshane267 it would've been better if he took his loss and bounced from it. All jokes aside he had what it took to be great just never stopped being a douche even after he lost mayweather must've been disappointed.
Love how you broke the story down. I remember being a teenager and feeling bad for Vicente Escobedo watching that post fight interview and knowing something went on behind the scenes. When Max called it out I was thankful but I never knew the other details you had mentioned. Wow. Just wow. You’ve earned a subscriber with this one, love it!!!
I’ve said this before: Broner’s ideal style is not the one we see. That Mayweather touch-n-go style never was where he shined, it was when he let his hands go. Had he gone with something more aggressive, I think he would’ve been dominate. But he fucked himself over countless times with laziness and overconfidence.
Right I was thinking the same thing. His out put is just too low. Him vs Pacman just shows. Sucks hes in an out of trouble too. Did he ever get released from jail yet? I seen he was found in contempt of court and arrested not to long ago.
@@LowTierFallout 100% Im glad I’m not the only one that sees this. If he would adopt a aggressive style like canelo he would have been so much better, since his combinations are one of the best in the business
This the first time I’ve ever seen someone drop a video and there’s 143 likes with NO dislikes. Not ONE hater yet. This shows ur respect n love from ur community. Salute bro great vid, amazing content and research.
Update: 253 likes! I know eventually there’s gunna be that one idiot who dislikes just to be that guy but fr man I see y ur community has respect for u. Just finished this full video (I was watching little by little at work) and it really is amazing and can tell u took ur time n really did ur research. Great job man salute! I just recently became a real boxing fan and I’m trying to learn as much as possible so u def got a like and a new sub!
@@jmarra07 when mayweather complained about the padding with his fight with maidana, maidanas team said they used the same unpadded gloves for broner. People are deaf these days arent they...?
If broner is a bad fighter then maidana shouldn't get credit for beating him lol but broner is actually gonna go into the hall of fame when he officially retires.. people that dont like broner outside the ring criticize his in the ring accomplishments its always a double standard with black boxers anyway
@@davidmendoza5083 your lying to yourself if you think race and or nationality has no impact in boxing...and as far as credentials broner is a 4 division champion so he will be included in the HOF down the line
@@RadeMusicandSports89 In regards to broner, no he acted like an idiot whenever he’s been in the spotlight. I don’t agree with you on the HOF it’s so easy nowadays for these guys to win titles & also in other division bc of how many titles there are!
This was GREAT man, you really are the best at this, you're breakdowns and commentary on backstories that most of us didn't know about is what is needed in boxing.
This will live long in the memory, leading up to the fight after seeing the momentum of both fighters, broner was less than convincing against Paulie, and maidana was looking a different fighter under garcia, I felt Maidana could pull this off, but at the same time AB was so hyped at the time and alot of people thought he would outbox a rugged maidana with his crisp clean work. Fundamentally though, he just didn't have the legs. He won 3 World titles by using only his upper body superiority and quick hands. He never had to be on his toes. Maidana showed him that once the distance gets closed down and when the opponent isn't scared to go at him full force, its a whole different ball game.
Such an amazing piece of work you did here. Thank you for the video. When I first saw this fight I remembered being jumping with joy because of both their performances but mainly because of Maidana. Thanks again for the video. Keep making this types of videos.
This is excellent. Your work is getting far better every video. It is amazing to watch and take in. The ending exposing just a little on the difference between Mayweather and Broner was awesome too
Great work as always hancho. I was never sold on Broner early on in his career as everyone was hyping him up. He hadn't got tested or put through adversity to really legitimize himself. This fight showed the level Broner really was, as he finally fought someone without a significant weight advantage.
He had been tested against Paulie where he got beat. Ponce, where he got beat and then Quintero where he got beat. This was always set to be an execution. Maidana was incredibly talented and proved it when he fought Floyd.
I don't know a thing about boxing and its fighters within the industry but this video was very interesting. I was hooked all the way to the end. Thanks a lot for showing me something new!
Truly an iconic fight. Mike Tyson at his most aggressive point and holyfield still had no fear. I wonder if he has nightmares about Mike Tyson coming back to bite his other ear off
The best boxing video I've seen in my lifetime. The background, context and the editing. Thank you and respect from South Africa the home of some of the best boxing in the world. Enkosi
Man, this channel is now a legit contender for best boxing RU-vid commentary/history videos. Dude is staking a claim and the content is getting better and better. Def earned a sub from me. Hats off the boy, he got some talent.
Bruh, this was an absolute BRILLIANT piece of work. Great research, excellent balance, and each segment flowed beautifully. Thank you for your time and effort. #salude
This is the fight that made Adrien super gun shy. He skipped 2 weight classes instead of growing out of the weight class, where in the smaller weight classes he would walk through shots. He couldn't do that at 147 or with Marcos Maidana. Especially with Maidana being heavy handed and weighing in at a middleweight the day of the fight. This is actually Broner's best fight to me. He showed true grit and didn't quit. He even hurt Maidana late. Great fight.
Excellent point. It never looked like he was being totally outclassed but rather that maidanas power had actually shocked AB like it was something he’d never seen before. He stuck in there but the strength and weight advantage had just overwhelmed him. Also I feel that if he would’ve never switched from his raw style he would’ve found more success too. Now it seems like he’s adjusting to his Floyd style in his last fight against Santiago but I also feel that unlike guys like Floyd, toney, sweet pea he’s just not mentally built for that style. Physically he has all the tools hand speed good power, good feel and concept for defense but AB never knew the line between staying defensive and countering to pouring the pressure on. He’s one of my favorite fighters ever but not only because of the fighting and his antics but also how interesting his case is. He really could’ve been so special man
I gotta admit that this video always serves me as a reminder to stay grounded … it’s amazing I always come back to watch this video more frequently than I like to admit lol 😂
Bro...your videos are in a league of their own my man...been watching your work for a few years now, and I gotta say that you’ve put yourself at the top with your unbiased opinions and fucking dope content. Everything mixes so well, the music tho, it’s perfect! Edit: the 4 dislikes you have for this video, are probably from Broner, his mom, his dad, and his trainer Lmao
After viewing just three videos, I decided to subscribe because this is the BEST boxing channel on YT! Hancho treats fight fans with respect by uploading smart and informative videos true fight fans can appreciate. I love the inside information and analysis these videos bring! Truly Hancho respects the "Sweet Science" and the fans! Thank You!!
Maidana was throwing the jab to the body the way Marquez was throwing the right hand to the body of Pacquiao and then bringing it back up to the head to knock'm down once they developed that anticipation to the body. This is the clearest example I've seen since Marquez/Pacquiao 4 that many Pacquiao fans failed to realize at the time or just chose to ignore out of blind pride. Canelo does a similar sneaky left hook that telegraph's going to the body but instead goes straight to the dome. These are the technicalities I like being mentioned and exposed to the casuals because people don't understand that behind fighting and combat sports there is a science. This goes for the Mexican fans who think that going to war, engaging in a bar fight, phone booth is what a boxing fight is supposed to look like. Oh it's a fight alright, but it's from being a boxing match. I'm a Chicano by the way in case anybody has a problem with what I said. Particularly Mexican and Filipino fans who come on here with their nonsensical comments and lack of understanding. Good video by the way. This brings back memories of those years when boxing was still at a high peak with the future boxing legends that would eventually fade away within the next few years. Regards from Los Angeles 🤝
Only real G’s remember Maidana till this day his my favorite fighter I fell in love with boxing back in 2009 Victor Ortiz vs Maidana fight was the first boxing match I watched
Why? I would have hated Broner even more if he were from the same city as me. Then again, I’m not from Cincinnati, I understand you people need something to cheer about.
I'm always VERY surprised that you haven't got more subscribers because you are definitely up there with the BIG boys! Great upload, yet again. Thank you.
Great video. I gotta admit when Broner was a lightweight, that was one of the most exciting times in boxing! It felt like we were seeing the New Floyd growing up right before our eyes. He was super fast, Broner was stopping guys at his will and he was more entertaining than Floyd. Broner was a natural on the mic! The Malignaggi fight really brought a lot of us back down to reality because in my head I knew Paulie was a tough fighter but my heart was expecting a Broner stoppage and then he would move on to even greater things! That Uchiyama guy looked dangerous, I never knew about him but I also think Broner was scared of Danny Garica too. That's why Broner jumped over 40 to 47. The Maidana fight was a disaster but I'll never forget the Broner hype!
I'm still with them. Due to the pandemic and no huge fights , there's not much happening where a remote out of state contractor is needed. Earlier in January I was in plans of being out there in LA at the studio working for the month of April and work the fight week in the later portion of April into May then head back home. But unfortunately with the pandemic those plans were put to a halt. Maybe boxing be normal in Sept 2021. Til then I'm in the process of getting a Work visa and doing film production work in Thailand.
Something tells me this is about to be one of the best. Thank you! Quick question, do you guys think Ryan Garcia is sort of like Broner? He hasn't fought anyone that's "An actual challenge" yet... I personally think he's good but one day if he's not careful he'll get knocked out.
I agree he hasn't fought anyone yet but luke Campbell will be his first true top test but he trains with canelo and his team and he hasn't missed weight and seems dedicated by training all the time
His chin hasn’t been tested because he’s knocked out everyone with ease. He’s fighting Campbell next month, that’s a real challenge- we’ll finally be able to see if Ryan is just hype or a legitimate star. However I’m leaning towards the latter, he’s training with Canelo who takes his craft very seriously and that stable Reynoso has is second to none. Lots of people don’t like RG because he’s a pretty boy that seems more like an instagram model than a boxer but his skills are legit.
Hancho this long video really should deserve to be at tv. If i im in charge then i would definitely put it and people wouldn't even noticed that its done all by one man only. I can only imagine production and a crew to help you more than just make boxing videos by yourself and your final work is gonna be much more memorising and well directed.
