Grand as the meeting of the cathedrals is, that opening… that’s the stuff I love about new wessex. I find myself worrying how things can be comfy again with all these rifts slowly rising, but such is life’s ebbs and flows

Another great episode Andy! It's really great to have finally met 8022 "Manchester Cathedral" at long last, as I've been rather curious about him for a while (it would be really cool at some stage too to have a Character Profile on his history and how/why he ended up being sent to the Midland Region). Dexby Cathedral is also a laugh, but has a nice grounded rough wisdom that shines through, adding much depth to his character. Can't wait to see how the Cathedral trio get on throughout the next few episodes. Oh Shaw, what are we to do with you? It's a shame how his progress seems to really have slipped back a few steps in this episode after the bridges he build with Stan at the end of last episode. Ben definitely isn't helping matters, and it would probably be best for those two to be separated for a while, or have a hard conversation with Lord Stovell at the very least. Indeed, I like Stovell's monologue in the beginning of his regrets in not approaching Shaw and addressing all the issues there sooner, and how it is now beginning to boil over. Shaw does come across as a bit of an asshole in this episode with his attitude and especially his remarks about Alfred and lack of respect for railway protocol (which again, is a great call back to Episode 3 in Season 1). I think Shaw is still struggling with his grief and this is thus still pushing him to lash out so much. However, I also feel that it is showing some of his underlying bad characteristics too - most notably, how he's rather self-centered and only really focused on what is best for him and how he can prove himself useful, rather than considering the branch and the others as being a team that needs to work together. His lack of ability to admit when he is in the wrong and how he tries to justify his actions is also dangerous in how he perhaps thinks himself above the rules: a dangerous attitude to have in any industry. Thus, whilst I do think Lord Stovell was right to give him some form of punishment, I am not really sure if this will end up having the desired affect, and likely make things a great deal worse in the future. The part with Ben and Rooke's argument and the latter storming off is also a great moment, and how now there are almost three sides rather than two, and further the divides do grow. Ben really needs to be careful that in his righteous anger he doesn't end up pushing his best friend away when he's only trying to help him. Other little things: great to see a few more moments with the likes of Windsor, Dave, Stan and Pilot: always a pleasure for some characters to get a bit more limelight, especially secondary and background ones. Robert's moment with Seaforth and Falklands is also very worrying indeed: just what is he planning, and how will it affect both the island and the relationship with his father? Only time will tell. The scenery and sets are as gorgeous as ever, incredible scores and music by Riley, and the humor is on point as always. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Wyvern's new repaint is also to help him hide from the authorities with so many warrants out for his arrest in many regions! XD Great work as always Andy! Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a good relax throughout the holidays - you have definitely earned it!
