I have known Kristian for many years, we went to school together, and Im really glad things are going so well for him right now. He's a great guy and he really deserves it!
10 years since this was posted. As the kingdoms of men crumble around me, music keeps myself alive. They took the walls today ,but the bars played this song so it was not a bad day. I hope the great peace comes soon. Circa 2034 Ohio
This wouldn't be nearly as good if he wasnt having fun doing it. The fact that you can see and hear him actually enjoying this performance takes it to a level that makes you just keep replaying it. LOVE IT!!!!
This is fantastic: the lyrics, the performance, the voice. And the more I listen to this, the more I’m astonished at that guitar playing. He’s not Bob Dylan, he’s Kristian Matsson and he’s mighty good.
@Draedon did he go to school in Sweden and learn English very early on then? I think his lyrics are very poetic...he's obviously a talented songwriter.
So stocked to see him live, The Wild Hunt was easily the best album of 2010 and I would not be surprised if "Theres No Leaving Home, now" repeats that trend. This is folk at its best.
Amazing performance! TMOE is one of the greatest singer/songwriters I have ever heard, and I have seen him live in my home country (Sweden) 3 times. It's about time he got more recognition.
@explosivetoast Calm down, it was merely a reference to the trash that is American pop. I removed the comment, because I can see now how that could be taken wrong. I do realize how plentiful music is in our day and age, so I apologize for misinterpretations.
@279storm Yeah, well boots of spanish leather is just a copy of dylans song girl of the north country so.. You're not really in a position where to throw rocks, okay? hehe /Another Native of the North Pole
You actually make me sick, you can sit there and cast dispersions on someone's life, someone you have never met and are unlikely ever to meet. I make a standard living in the arts world; I'm a painter, I travel a lot, but I'm not famous, I haven't written a couple of mediocre songs to make a fortune nor am I the flavour of the month...does this mean I'm not amazing? Should I hang myself as there is no point to my life, as it's not amazing? Would this then please you?
@kartoffelsaek there is soooo many stupid comments on youtube, but u my friend speak the truth. your dead right! nobody invented folk music its a gift from past generations. Im a hugh Dylan fan, he just presented folk music to a new generation. I write and sing folk songs every day and i dont worry about coppying anyones style... because every folk singer has done it and will always do it, thats what is so good about it!
@Kathannara You come off as a bit contradictory. First saying there is nothing good about Dylan, just to go on saying hes a great artist. Putting that aside i`m going to have to disagree with you, i mean he is in no way a flawless musician but he is good at what he does. He writes some catchy tunes and he is pretty tight live. That makes him good (not great) in my opinion. But now i am curious, who do you reckon is a good or great guitarist in modern folk if not Dylan.
@Kathannara Thats a very biased personal opinion you have there. Bob Dylan was a great musician in my opinion. He was writer. Bob Dylan wouldn't be as big if he started in this era. Look at what the world looked like back in the 60's and 70's and listen to his songs. Yes his guitar playing isn't impressive but never the less he is still an incredible artist and he did move people by his words.
well just trust me, you wouldn't have to make that statement if he didn't sound like him a little...Bob Dylan had many different sounds throughout his career...its possible you arent hearing the influence ...I'm a pretty experience and verses musician and Dylan was the first thing that came to mind when i heard this guy play solo.
@TheZiggy112 I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Bob Dylan wasn`t the first guy to play the guitar. And Bob Dylan himself is an expert of emmulating other artist`s styles. It was his voice and words that made him unique, not his guitar/harp skills allthough he is pretty damn good at it. Nobody invented folk music.
@yensond In Sweden you study english from third grade, I don't know what the english/american equivalent is, but third grade in Sweden is when you're 9-10 years old.
You can see Liam isn't digging it in this video. His performance was flat and dirgy. Tallest Man had more passion that Liam could ever dream of pretending have.
