Yeah, it's a pity since this edition of the BKS festival was magical with pretty good live sound. Alt-J and Belgian with the light show, and Belgian band Balthazar, next to the pond. One of the most fun weekends ever. 🎉

He's talked about how miserable going on tour alone is so you can't really blame him. He still plays probably half of each show solo

Possibly. I think the band sound good though. A suitable choice of instruments for his music.

in general, musicians just need to transition into new sounds and try new things, despite fans wanting them to stay stagnant. It can be hard for non musicians to understand. but sometimes you just have to change your style or sound to stay motivated and inspired

it's in tune, he's using a vibrato pedal to get that effect. kinda like a warped vinyl.

nope. the high E string is tuned down to a D

right, i mean the guitar itself in a different tuning, but it's not "out of tune", the pedal just gives it that effect.

I couldn't disagree more, I love the rawness and sound from the live version that turns an otherwise average song into one of my favorites.

Fair enough. For me it's just hard to part with the cello in this version. Not a fan of the sax.
