2:00 is scary, look at his face and listen to his voice. He was singing softly and then, this is why I love him, he gets really animated and believes what he's saying. It's the same as how actors blur the lines between they're normal personality with the one of which they are acting. Passion.
i love how he calls it a song about flowers when its really a song about jealousy and insecurity and killing anyone who comes close to his girl so he can remain the tallest man in her eyes
does anyone know how he gets that sound out of his guitar? hes got a fishman rare earth for the pickup and im not sure if he runs it through an electric or acoustic but he definitely mikes the amps. But he must put effects on, some reverb or a little echo, then maybe just a small bit of overdrive or distortion (smallest bit possible). can anyone help me out?
I love the way his voice sounds on the new EP, but I think for older songs like this, his "new" voice doesn't compare to the texture and passion of the album version.
I just uploaded a video of me singing to this on my ukulele, in case you feel the need to give a view and leave some comments. If not, just let this beauty soak on in you. This guy is incredible.
Those recordings with him in the grey sweater where he sings Where do my bluebird fly and the gardener to me are still unmatched. Those are the best versions of those two songs.
