crazy how similar the saints and bucs were when brees and brady were playing and now its the exact same again. Absolutely crazy defenses, super good WR core and a new QB looking for success surrounded by the best team they’ve ever been on. Should be a good battle again this year ⚜️
As a Browns fan I will say that OBJ and his locker room posse sealed the fait of Baker in Cleveland. OBJ and his brothers at that time did not want Baker as their QB. Plain and simple. Baker is a good QB. I believe and hope he excels. I will be rooting for the BUCCS this year.
That’s exactly what I was thinking…he’s never had such a good set of receivers and good defense at the same time…I’m excited to see what happens…I’ve always wanted to see what happens when he is in a good situation.
Baker in his time at Cleveland Had? 4 head Coaches 4 O- Co0rdinaters, 2 General Managers in 4 years with the Browns. Add an Owner whos other business was involved in a scam. If Tom Brady played for the Browns? We would never remember him. The Browns were 1-31 over a 2 year period then he came in on a Thursday night game and won. Took them to the Playoffs and won, and got kicked in the nutts for it. Wish him the best. And the Buccs nation.
This team only goes as far as the O Line takes them. Gotta protect Baker and open holes for the running game or this is gunna be a long season. Hopefully they can gel.
I follow baker around because I have held these same opinions for 5 years. Very disappointed when the browns ran him out of town. I really hope the bucs shock the league!!
I LOVE that you appreciate Baker! Apparently you're like me... You don't trust the numbers without considering the circumstances. I can't wait 'til Baker has had some time build a little chemistry with these guys!
As a browns fan, I can tell you with 100% certainty that his numbers don’t tell the whole story. 33% of his career picks came in 1 year, his second season under an awful Freddie kichens scheme. It was a lot of 7 step drops and double and triple moves by receivers running deep…. Good stuff every once in a while, but not as the core of your philosophy. Then stefanski comes in and handcuffs him and tries to force the gunslinger out of him. He runs a ton of 2 and 3 te sets and just absolutely insists on passing from those formations. Bakers last year here against Green Bay stefanski finally went to more of a spread offense and tried to make baker win it with his arm alone…. At this point baker was held together by duct tape and popsicle sticks. He had ankle and heel injuries as well as the notorious torn labrum/broken shoulder. Also he was out the previous game with covid and just cleared the night before Green Bay, so you know he wasn’t 100%….. on top of this… that spread offense I mentioned…. Yeah he spread the field with 3 te’s and 1 wr…. Absolutely set baker up to fail, and fail he did, throwing 4 of his 11 picks that year in 1 game. Also Beckham killed the chemistry of those teams, and also killed the flow of the offense with critical drops on 3rd and 4th downs that killed countless drives during his time here and often times shifted momentum the other way. Landry was bakers go to because he caught everything and obj just couldn’t handle that. Add on top of that 4 head coaches, Jackson, Williams, kichens, stefanski, and 4 oc’s, Haley, kichens, munkin, and van pelt… Add to that the 2 head coaches in Carolina, 1 in la and now new coaches in Tampa, the guy has never even had a chance to run the same system long enough to get comfortable before he is learning a new one. The fact that he has had the success he has is a damn miracle. Most people given those circumstances would have washed out of the league years ago…. In reality he should essentially be a Josh Rosen by now… but his grit, determination, and SKILL, have not only kept him in the league, but has kept him starting everywhere he goes.
You have NO IDEA how good it feels to hear someone else who understands the reality of Baker's ridiculously awful circumstances!!! I especially love hearing someone else recognize what a deterrent OBJ was. I thought I was the onlyperson who noticed how often he killed drives by dropping good passes on 3rd and 4th downs. MAN would I love to have you in my corner during my constant arguments with Haters. They have this blinding, "lynch mob" mentality that simply cannot see the truths you've shared here. @@HomeDefender30
@@HomeDefender30 Best comment about Baker i've ever seen. Its so nice to see someone that actually knows ball and doesnt just look at his stats and say Baker bad.
@@R7wStandOverShitHere here! I agree with all these facts because well, they are facts. He did a great job of summing up the man's career to this point. I night add that some people in the media just hate his personality because he is gritty, and they have been trying to bury him from day one. Cowherd and Shannon Sharpe come to mind.
I'm a Mayfield fan but he needs to go through more than one or two reads. He looks up and is focused on only one reciever. Everybody can see where he's going with the ball.
Five (5) purple Hats 🧢 following Backer back onto the field 2:51 after that Stiff Arm 💪 and trash talk “you’re going to hav’ta get that Weight Up ⬆️ son”..🤣 FIVE of them until Godwin 14 got in there way 2:54. And the Dumb Ass reffery is Grabbing Godwin 🤷🏻♂️ instead of getting in the way of the Five… you just Can’t Make THIS 💩💩💩 🆙
How quick people forget how horrendous and I mean HORRENDOUS the offense looked in the first half. Like Eric Zeier led offense horrendous. Add in the Eagles rushing attack absolutely thrashing the Vikings last night and our O-line/running game woes look even worse. I'm not discounting that we snuck out a win in one of the most difficult environments in the NFL. But, we were lucky to win that game. Finally, we keep glossing over how "Bakers turnovers weren't all his fault" um, ok? That's the case with every QB in the NFL. Baker has a rightfully earned reputation for 1. Taking far too long in the pocket and 2. Being loose with the football. I expect to beat the Bears and at 2-0 the hype machine will be ridiculous. But lets check back after the bye week and see where things are at. I hope I'm wrong but I still think this is a 7-10/8-9 team
Were we watching the same game? 2/3 turnovers were actually takeaways. The pick was literally taken out of the WR hands. And the sack fumble was definitely not given to us. 🤣 Bad take…
YOU GUYS ARE SERIOUSLY OVER REACTING FROM JUST ONE GAME. THE BUCS ARE NOT GOING TO WIN OVER 5 GAMES THIS SEASON. THE DEFENSE IS OVERRATED. I BET MY ENTIRE PAYCHECK ON IT.
ESPN has the Buccaneers 25th out of 30 teams in their pathetic "NFL ""POWER RANKINGS "!!! EVEN AFTER THE BUCCANEERS BEAT A REALLY GREAT "VIKINGS TEAM " ON THE ROAD "!!!!
