The Tank 300 is probably my favorite modern Chinese offroad SUV. It looks great without coming off as tacky, and the price is pretty much unbeatable in the segment. Glad to finally see a review of it!
I have a tank 300. This summer, I drove it to run on the roads in Tibet, and it performed very satisfactorily in the face of complex road conditions at high altitude.
On-road performance is arguably more important for a vehicle like this (and the Wrangler really) since the vast majority of the people who buy these off-road styled SUV (like this, Bronco, Wrangler, etc) never take them off road. They buy something that drives like a tractor just for the look.
Tank 300 has a specific city-friendly version in their lineup. Difference from Off-road version is the suspension tuning, better NVH, and different drivetrain (Offroad version is a part-time 4wd, City version has the borg warner all wheel drive system with center diff lock)
@@hansyang1697 It seems that GWM didn't specify this difference (city or offroad) in the recent release in Australia. Only two models are available here Lux / Ultra, same as H6 and Jolion.
Another great review from Wheelsboy !!! I live in the UK and I wonder why Great Wall do not import this vehicle as I am sure it would be a sales success.
Thanks wheelsboy, finally an english review of Tank 300. Love this beast most specially in orange color. GWM pushing this as their offroader, lots of videos showing it. Hows the fuel consumption in city or highway drive? Another thing, would like to ask does the Tank 300 Hybrid is already release in your market? It was introduced in Thailand but did not see a follow up review or videos in regards to it. More power sir, btw subscriber here from SEAsia.
Decent little box, I really suggest you watch the Extreme Tank 300 off-road test, especially tested in Russian then come back to tell us what you think.
I used to own a Tank but it was a 250cc scooter. I didn't know they were still in business ( those bastards) and making suvs now. That scooter ran like a champ btw
Exciting to have a capable vehicle at such a low price point enter the market, cannon has been doing well so far, and they can't be more unreliable than LR lol
i buy tank500last mouth,All I can say is that the Tank 500 beats the Toyota land cruiser or Prado。The Tank 500 is the most luxurious off-road vehicle I've ever seen, giving you a ride you can't even imagine
What’s the handling at high speed, how do brakes fill , is engine and type noise in cabin, does it handle ok around the bends all this needs to be part or road test
Jeep Commander 2006 - 2010 did this successfully but failed to provide bigger tires and the 2 inch lift that many owners did [including me] which transformed [improved] the looks hugely. The Tank reminds me a lot of the Commander that should've had a proper future if the Fiat bosses didn't axe it when they took control of Chrysler.

yes, thre's a bronco sport which launched earlier, but tank300 doesnt really looks like it, u may say slightly looks alike, but bronco sure like is "almost" looks the same to tank300 if the head light middle strike towards outside, even the side body also looks similar to tank300, same as the tail & tail light, while tank300 sidebody doesnt looks like bronco sport.
@@famousraperandrapperkriswu656 I wish, I would've already preordered it if it would arrive here, The thing is, if they plan to ship it to Europe it has to be VTA approved, which I am not sure about. I don't think the stupid Importer is willing to even import this model.
It's a bit like the old Chinese models of the Sang Wang style and other vehicles that are very dangerous. unexpected road behavior during emergency braking and uncertain design quality .... and there you compare it to jeep wrangler and mercedes CLASS G ????? NO BUT ARE YOU SERIOUS?????
As the first few videos of yours I watched were about electric vehicles I have now made the mistake several times of watching videos about non-electric vehicles which don’t interest me could you please put in the title whether the vehicle is electric or not thanks
Why you are not interested in internal combustion cars? They are cooler and more versatile. Most still don't buy electric, while also either way they are not available in the west.
@@ligametis there is a fossil fuel caused climate crisis my Pacific neighbours are already losing their livelihoods if we don’t drop the fossil addiction we’ll all be experiencing their current loss Cheers
@@vernepavreal7296 like you believe this will change anything. There is an energy crisis in Europe, we once again start to burn crazy polluting cool and oil fuel. It sucks, but cars are just a miniscule part of pollution. Especially compared to ships and planes.
the rear door which is opened from left to right side is a reflection of chinese manufacturers copying everything! they even copied the door from japan suv such land cruiser prado without thinking why it opens like that and not from right to left! well it is because in japan there is left hand side traffic for which this openning is ok, but not for right hand side traffic countries
@@miguellines5907 48v light hybrid? Or phev version? Phev version has been published in china and I heard that it would launch in market at the end of this year.
Im not a fan of a chinese vehicle but if you comment about the logo it seems you dont know what simplicity means. Thats musculine for me bro...are you?
Here in Australia they are coming out at $56,000 to $61,000, so for that price you can get a lot more for less or the same. Great review though, thanks.
You cannot compare this to a wrangler at all. Different suspension and different customer base. Tank is designed for Chinese conditions not US tracks and trails. For a vehicle like a Tank, it needs to be compared with something with similar suspension setup. The Tank is definitely not a vehicle that will dominate difficult tracks like a Wrangler. Compare it with a Mazda or a Mercedes SUV that also have wishbone suspension.
